Arsenal – Tottenham Hotspur

1. So, happy Harry takes his new boys to the Emirates and this could be a daunting task after that easy win over Bolton on Sunday.

2. No Ledley for Spurs; his injury curse continues. No way was he going to play three games in a row so Woodgate is in. Gareth Bale, back from suspension, comes in for Jamie O'Hara. The Gunners bring in Adebayor, Denilson and Sagna for Bendtner, Song and Eboue.

3. Huddle from Harry's men and we are off. Gunners get us under way.

4. Bale steps in to stop a Sagna charge. Woodgate hoofs clear.

   And Woodgate heads clear as Adebayor went up. Spurs win the throw.

   Huddlestone tries a long pass to Roman Pavlyuchenko.

   Arsenal have a free-kick. And choose to pass it around.

   David Bentley, met with boos, sets off down the right and fouls Clichy after a promising run.

   Bale got clear on the left from a Huddlestone pass. Almunia showed him the post but Bale misses and it's a goal-kick.

    Gomes with a goal-kick. All the way to Modric. Weaving run is stopped by Sagna. Walcott sets off the turbo-boost but just overran it. Woodgate came across to stop him.

    Aggressive start from Spurs. They're up for this. As they should be for a derby.

    Spurs play their own session of possession. Nice passing before Roman Pavlyuchenko is the target for a long pass. He didn't get there but an element of calm in the Spurs ranks.

    Bentley tackled to many cheers. Arsenal got rid of him not them of him. Why the boos? That's football fans.

    Cross-shot came nearly found Modric. But not this time.

    Nasri cross headed away and Bentley can break. But then a Jenas pass goes astray.

    Bentley can't reach a Pavlyuchenko flick. Spurs with plenty of the ball. Gunners not in their stride as yet.

    Woodgate is not turned by Adebayor and Arsenal have to settle from a throw. Mishit cross finds Adebayor. Ball runs to Walcott. Nice left-foot shot but just wide. Arsenal's first genuine attack.

    Bentley!!! What an amazing goal. Modric flicks up. Bentley, from the edge of the circle shoots. Almunia flaps and that may be strike of the season.

    What a goal that was. Legendary stuff if that starts a Spurs win.

    Arsenal free-kick on the edge of the Spurs box.

    Van Persie strikes round the wall with his left foot. And that is saved by Gomes. Corner.

    Headed away by Jenas. Pulsating stuff.

    Van Persie finds room on the edge of the box. Pirouettes and smashes a shot that beats Gomes but the post too. What a game this is.

    Nice control from Pavlyuchenko. Turned Gallas and won the foul.

    Modric, on the right, probes. The Croatian looks more comfortable but Hutton was just offside.

    Modric tried a pass with the outside of his boot. Missed the target but good idea.

    Walcott fizzes a cross which, in truth, was mishit. Van Persie shoots again. Another corner which is headed out for a throw. Breathless.

    Walcott scuffs a cross again. Hutton smashes behind.

    Gomes came out. And, shock horror, missed it. He runs back as Gallas fires over. Gomes got lucky.

    Brilliant skill from Bentley. But not as good a cross. He is up for this one.

    Clichy tackles Hutton. The Scottish players was booming forward.

    Gallas's pass goes astray. Gomes claims calmly. For him.

    Arsenal with much of the play. Spurs sitting back a little. Perhaps too much. This is a great derby game.

    Bentley is booed as he takes a free-kick. It was curved in the right direction. Almunia punched away as Huddlestone was flying in.

    Arsenal now on the attack. Patient play from them. But Woodgate steps out to intercept. Pavlyuchenko stopped in his tracks by Gallas.

    Modric breaks but Sagna comes over to tackle him.

    Lovely attack from Arsenal until Adebayor is stopped in his tracks. Great tackle from Corluka stepping in. Then there's handbags between Denilson and Jenas.

    Walcott on the burst. Out to Van Persie but the Dutchman can't find the space to get a shot in.

    Bentley fell over. And Arsenal burst away. Fabregas fires a shot just wide of the post with his right-foot. A bender saved by Gomes.

    Arsenal on the attack. Their fans are buoyant after that goal. It had been coming.

    Benoit Assou-Ekotto gets lucky when Corluka smashes away his silly header.

    Spurs get some vital time on the ball. It's been quite an effort to keep up with Arsenal.

    Walcott muffs another cross. He's still capable of not supplying the right ball at the right time.

    Hell of a half. Bentley's goal was sublime. Silvestre's was a result of some Gomes goalkeeping. But 1-1 is fair.

    Nasri gets back to halt a Modric ball. The sting is not out of Spurs yet but Arsenal are equal to their promptings.

     Arsenal have Spurs chasing shadows tonight. It was very different early on but that level of effort could not survive.
