Arsenal – Tottenham Hotspur

1. Afternoon everyone, welcome to the North London derby, Arsenal v Tottenham at the Emirates. Here's some team news for you

2. Arsenal at full-strength. No place for Van Persie, as Eboue manages to get fit. It's the same team who played against Chelsea, which is good news for Wenger.

3. Ramos is less lucky. Look at this defence.. Tainio, Chimbonda, Kaboul, Lee. Oh dear. How they need Ledley King back. At least Robbie Keane is up front, and there's a place for the young O'Hara as well.

4. Arsenal have done well after that loss to Boro, while Tottenham are also on the up. Two teams in decent form, with each only losing once in their last six games.

5. Arsenal should be too strong for a Spurs side hit by injuries. Spurs haven't won against a Wenger side since 1999 either, but football is a strange business. Kick off in T-minus ten mins.

6. The teams are set to come out. Tottenham in white, Arsenal in their home red. Derby games are always exciting, so buckle your seatbelts for this one...

   Arsenal kick off.

   Arsenal glad to see Fabregas back, and he sends the ball long right away. Gunners already causing problems with Flamini, but Kaboul does well.

   Great possession football from Hleb and Adebayor. Flamini races onto the chip from the Togo international, he hooks at it and it snakes past the post. Very close there, bright start from Arsenal

    Flamini has been a revelation this season, and nearly got on the scoresheet there.

    First Spurs effort, and it's Berbatov who nearly hits the corner flag with a terrible shot from miles out.

    Hleb finding so much space in the hole. Spreads it to Sagna who crosses, but the Spurs defence holds firm for the time being.

    Boateng puts his foot in on Eboue who goes down with traditional dramatics.

    Fabregas swings in the free-kick. And Toure gets his foot on it after it's nearly cleared. Prods it towards Robinson, who catches easily.

    Adebayor linking the play well again and Spurs can't seem to get hold of the ball at all.

    Tottenham's five man midfield are trying to shut down Fabregas and Flamini in the middle. Leaving spaces down the flanks though and it's looking open.

    Corner kick as Chimbonda makes a mistake. Adebayor gets up well, but floats his header wide. Chimbonda does have spring, but the giant Togo striker will surely get the better of him in the air today.

    Malbranque and Lennon combine, Lennon gets space and puts the cross in. Great header away by Sagna, but Berbatov was close there. Good work from the Spurs players.

    The fizz has just gone out of the Gunners play. They're losing the ball and Tottenham now look more dangerous.

    O'Hara doesn't look out of place in the Spurs midfield. He's linking the play well and closing down Fabregas well. Spurs just keeping possession, which will frustrate Arsenal.

    Hleb does brilliantly and streaks away. His pass is misplaced by fabregas picks it up. Cross to Rosicky and he sends it over. Adebayor nods it down, but Eboue wasn't close enough. Good counter attack from Arsenal though.

    Really open game so far. Both sides pushing forward and there are some great attackers on show.

    Arsenal's long ball tactics not working so far, they need to go back to short passing.

    Adebayor hugging the left touchline, Hleb bursting through the middle, but Fabregas' pass is cut out by Tainio.

    Wonderful play from Arsenal, but once the cross comes in there's no-one there. Good passing, but they need someone to actually be in the box if they're going to score.

    Fabregas slot a killer pass to the advancing Adebayor, his touch is cut out by Kaboul. Arsenal back on top now. But they still haven't tested Robinson in goal.

    Flamini crashes into Kaboul. Slightly mistimed, and a booking would rule him out of Everton next week. No yellow though.

    Rosicky fights with Boateng for possession. O'Hara slides in and wins it. He's done well the youngster, not seen much of him before but Ramos obviously rates him.

    Great tackle on Adebayor by the sliding Tainio. Strange position for the midfielder, but he has to play right-back with the lack of fit defenders at the club.

    Clichy blocks Lennon's cross, that will be a cracking battle. Pacey and stamina to burn, those two will fight it out all game.

    Rob Styles ruins a good chance for an Arsenal break. Not like him to make a wrong decision... But at least he holds his hands up.

    Adebayor is very alone up front. Hleb is playing more as a midfielder and the striker is miles from anyone. May need a Van Persie introduction in the second half to even that out.

    Possession is 50-50. Nothing to seperate them at the moment, and that will please Spurs more.

    Berbatov really makes a mess of that. He was running at Gallas but stumbled over the ball and took a hand in the face from Flamini as he lost the ball. Never quite sure what mood he's in..

    Rhythm is lacking here. Spurs are set, but with Adebayor up front on his own, that's going to be hard to break down. Spurs, to their credit, have created a few chances themselves while also stifling the Gunners attacks.

    No cutting edge in the final third for either side. The middle of the pitch is certainly seeing the most action at the moment.

    Another long ball sees Adebayor gets the better of Kaboul. It's the only way they are getting up the field, and there's been no edge, which is strange seeing as it's a derby game.

    Robinson slips as he goes to kick, but no danger for Spurs. The supporters appear to be engaging in a 'chant off' to try and liven the atmosphere.

    Wonderful control from Adebayor. He's so athletic and bursts into the box. Hacks in a cross, but where are the runs? All the players are standing on the edge of the box!

    Much more direct now. Hleb through the middle, his pace releases Adebayor, but he overruns it just as he makes it into the box.

    Chances are coming now. Hleb with a no-look pass, and O'Hara has to battle back to stop Rosicky getting in. Bad decision as Hleb is called offside.

    Tottenham just needing to stem the tide at the moment. Their defence has done well so far, and now it's Lennon's turn. Down the right, what a waste. Awful cross.

    Adebayor really does have springs for legs. What a leap. His control lets him down on this occasion though and now Tottenham have a chance to break. O'Hara's shot goes well wide.

    Tottenham's midfield are pushing on. They can afford to with only Adebayor up front. Just have to watch they don't get caught on the counter attack.

    Berbatov with some tricks on the edge of the box, but a massive waste of time and he flops on the floor after being tackled. Awful play. Arsenal break and Adebayor finds space. Slips it to Eboue who draws the first save out of Robinson.

    Finally a goalkeeper with something to do.

    Fabregas has been quiet, and that pass suggests he's not at his best. No-one there as it goes out for a throw.

    Eboue with a chance to shoot, but passes (badly) to Hleb and it was a chance. The Belarussian couldn't control it though.

    Nothing happening at all. Neither side are taking control and this last ten minutes are crucial. Good tackle by Gallas and Berbatov goes down. Free-kick! And to add insult to injury, Styles books Gallas for dissent. Terrible decision.

    And Spurs have a real chance.

    Kaboul might be lining up here. But it's an easy save from Berbatov eventually, for Almunia.

    Clichy shows his quality by stopping Lennon. The ball breaks though and Boateng has the shot, curling towards the top corner.. and just over.

    Spurs doing a really good job of stopping Arsenal playing. They can't cave in now.

    Great save from Robinson there. Top quality after Toure found some space at the corner.

    Tottenham's defending was non-existent there. England stopper did really well.

    Now Tottenham are growing in confidence. Keane works a corner. And it pings around. Gallas fails to clear but now Adebayor breaks. Great tackle by O'Hara. What a performance from the youngster.

    Berbatov falls again. He's really milking it after some good skill. Arsenal have a lot of work to do, they've been poor and Spurs are looking comfortable.

    Keane blown up for handball. And Ramos will certainly be the happier manager. Arsenal can be patient, but they have not got into their stride so far.

    Spurs kick off. Arsenal have to raise their game to go on and win this. They need an extra dimension.

    This hasn't has the derby feel to it. Maybe that will change in the second half.

    Arsenal starting much the same, just knocking it around without much urgency. They have time, and Tottenham will be pleased the time is being eaten up.

    GOAL. Adebayor with the goal. Great finish, and it's Fabregas again who gets the assist. He fights off Tainio and backheels the striker through. Top finish as well.

    Now Arsenal have the breakthrough, they can relax. Or can they? Adebayor storming through the middle, but top tackle by O'Hara again. Fabregas smashes the rebound well wide.

    The gears have been increased now. And Tottenham need to get up a few of their own now if they're going to get back into it. Berbatov needs to stop sulking and start creating.

    Dangerous territory for Tottenham as they force the play through the middle. They can't commit too many forward or they'll be caught on the counter attack.

    The game really needed a goal, so let's hope this second half has a bit more bite to it now.

    Hleb with some great skill and keeping possession well. Fabregas again links the play, but this time it goes out for a goal kick.

    Apparently there's only one team in London.. according to the Arsenal fans anyway.

    Arenal probing away at the Spurs defence. Chimbonda tidies up well, but the red side are back again. This time Toure bursting through and running at the defenders. His pass is sloppy though.

    Adebayor is hanging on the shoulder of the last defender. The tackles are flying in from Spurs, but looking desperate now.

    Fabregas swings a corner in and Flamini really should have done better. Toure and Gallas have stayed forward, despite the move breaking down.

    Adebayor now has ten goals this season, and the Gunners would have expected a similar ratio from Henry. They are in total control at the moment, Tottenham can't get near the ball.

    O'Hara is struggling with an injury. They can't afford to lose him as he's had a cracking first-half. Huddlestone is on the bench if need be.

    Boateng falls over in disgust as Styles gives a handball decision against him.

    Boateng comes off, and Huddlestone on. Two fairly ineffective players for the Spurs so far this year, we'll see what impact he has.

    Good strength from Adebayor but Eboue over-complicates things and runs into Lee. Clichy appears on the left wing and just wastes the cross.

    Kolo Toure leaps and controls the ball well. Rosicky gets in front of Yaboul from an Eboue cross but the ball gets away from the Czech star.

    Adebayor left alone again and Huddlestone picks his pocket. No Van Persie on the bench either..

    What bad luck! Lennon does so well, he stands up and puts the ball in. Keane is there at the back post, volleys and hits the bar!! Eboue was nowhere.

    GOAL! Not that it matters! Berbatov finds some space at the near post and just smashes it through Almunia's hands!

    The angle was against him, but he still managed to find the net. Berbatov now gets booked after tracking back to tackle Fabregas.

    Switch off for a second, and that's what the Bulgarian can do to you.

    Lehmann will be picking the bones out of Almunia's positioning from the goal. The Spaniard just didn't see it as it flew past him.

    Kaboul switches off now, Fabregas swings in the cross and Adebayor should have done better with the header.

    Tottenham have picked themselves up well. But the long ball to Adebayor is still causing Spurs a problem. If he had someone to knock it down to, it would be even worse.

    Rosicky breaks and Adebayor is nailed by Tainio. He'll get a booking there as he got nowhere near the ball.

    Gallas is down and Tottenham break. Malbranque tricks himself and Arsenal get back. Bendtner is coming on now for Arsenal and Defoe will arrive for Tottenham.

    Toure brings down Berbatov in the box, after the striker tricked him.

    SAVED! Keane steps up. And it's saved by Almunia!

    Good penalty, but better goalkeeping. Keane is having a mare. He's hit the bar and now missed a pen. Top drawer save from the keeper.

    What a let off for Arsenal. Toure shouldn't have dived in and now they have to get back into the game.

    Berbatov is killing the Arsenal defence. But his pass is cut out. Rosicky is bundled over in the box. Penalty? No. The ball runs out for a corner.

    And now Eboue will come on for Bendtner. Defoe for Keane.

    With his first touch! Nicklas Bendtner leaps above everyone and smashes a header into the back of the net. Huddlestone can't get near him and Fabregas' corner finds his head.

    Free header from six yards. And the Dane gets his first goal for Arsenal in the League.

     Toure now has to hack clear from Defoe. And Spurs are on the attack. Breathless 15 mins here...

     What a contrast, the first half was dull as dishwater. This has just been incredible.

     Life in the Premier League is tough. Tottenham didn't take advantage, and they've been made to pay.

     Tainio fouls Rosicky again and he has to be careful, already on a yellow card. Fabregas again from the dead ball, but Bendtner is blocked out of it by Chimbonda.

     Great fight by both sides in the middle of the pitch. Adebayor and Huddlestone battling for possession and Malbranque is fouled. Taarabt is now coming on for Lee. Bold move by Ramos.

     Flamini comes across and does really well to get his foot in just in front of goal. Gilberto is now coming on, so Wenger wants to shut up shop. Hleb makes way.

     Great cheer for the former skipper, but he may not stick around much longer if he doesn't play regularly.

     What a ball from Bendtner, chesting it down and slipping it through to Adebayor, who is muscled out of it by Kaboul.

     Taarabt makes a fool of Sagna and is fouled by the Frenchman, but it's in the box? There's no foul and Styles waves play on. Anywhere else on the pitch and that's a foul, but just not a penalty.

     Taarabt is looking lively down the left. Spurs need some late drama if they're going to get a point from this.

     Arsenal look to counter as Spurs push on.

     Clichy does well after making a mess of it initially, Defoe fouls him. Awful free-kick from Clichy though.

     Berbatov tackled, and he stops completely. Thought the whistle would go, that's not what you want to see in the final few minutes.

     Fabregas gives it away again, he's not been at his best but still has two assists to his name.

     Lennon caught offside and shows his frustration by kicking the ball away. Clichy was playing him on, but the whistle went anyway.

     A full house at the Emirates and they've seen a truly great second half. Berbatov backs into Sagna with his arm up, but nothing too malicious there.

     Final few minutes and the Gunners just need to hold on.

     Almunia takes charge there as Toure hits the ball high. The game is petering out now.

     Gallas again with the header. Arsenal so good at keeping the ball, but Tainio robs Gilberto. They have it back, but the passing has been poor.

     Tottenham have been good, but that missed penalty really hurt. Arsenal will worry about being so off form, but will be happy with the three points.

     Clichy nicks it. And it's all over!

     Final whistle goes. And Bendtner's first goal has given Arsenal the points. The players mob Almunia, and Robbie Keane hangs his head. Arsenal stay top!
