3. West Ham come into this evening's game off the back of a four-game losing streak and with pressure building around manager Gianfranco Zola. They start the day three points clear of 18th-placed Burnley, with this their game in hand.

4. Wolves are one point above West Ham and Mick McCarthy has trained the focus very much on his Italian counterpart, claiming: "In this fixture the pressure is on them. If we win this it will put a real dent in West Ham." Wolves are in good form with four points from two games.

5. West Ham have made four changes from the side that lost to Arsenal, with key men Scott Parker and Carlton Cole in for Mido and Junior Stanislas. Benni McCarthy and Julien Faubert also replace Jonathan Spector and Guillermo Franco.

6. Wolves make two changes from the side that drew 2-2 with Aston Villa, with George Elokobi and Michael Mancienne replacing Stephen Ward and Adlene Guedioura. The team has a settled look about it though.

    Michael Mancienne successfully intercepts a flicked pass from Radoslav Kovac as West Ham adopt a positive outlook from the off.

    Christophe Berra embarrasses himself when skewing an attempted clearance back over his head and then kicking clean air when trying to clear at the second attempt. West Ham cannot take advantage though.

    Scott Parker drives into the box and almost tees up Carlton Cole before Wolves take possession of the ball. It has been a bright start for the home side.

    Rain is beginning to fall fairly heavily at Upton Park which could make the surface greasy. Good news for the neutral perhaps.

    Karl Henry is penalised for a foul on Kovac as he clumsily bangs into the back of the Hammers midfielder.

    Wolves hit the bar! Kevin Doyle flicks on a long punt from Marcus Hahnemann and Kevin Foley races onto the ball, holding off Fabio Daprela, and thumps a shot against the woodwork from a tight angle. Great effort.

    Robert Green is off his line to punch a Matt Jarvis corner away for a throw-in. A heavy touch from Mancienne gifts West Ham a goal kick as they attempt to work the ball into the box though.

    Scott Parker has West Ham's first proper attempt of the game as he nicks the ball away from Mancienne and drills a low effort that Hahnemann clasps easily.

    David Jones is penalised for an aerial challenge with Benni McCarthy but there didn't look to be a lot in it. Wolves clear from the free kick though.

    Julien Faubert skips away from George Elokobi on the right and cuts inside, but he drags his effort well wide of the far post. That's former Real Madrid 'star' Julien Faubert, of course.

    Diamanti does well to cut out a lofted pass to Ronald Zubar and finds Carlton Cole, who produces a lovely backheel for Scott Parker. His sliding pass for Benni McCarthy is too quick for the striker though and the move breaks down.

    A deep cross from Alessandro Diamanti almost finds Kovac at the back post but Elokobi rises high to head behind for a corner. That was a nice move from the Hammers, shame they make a total mess of the corner.

    West Ham are looking to Diamanti for a flash of inspiration and he looks like he will be a real handful for Zubar tonight. The Wolves defender has coped okay so far, but looks ready to be outfoxed any time soon.

    Parker feeds the ball forward to McCarthy and he slips in his strike partner with a neat pass. However, Cole takes the ball wide and allows Christophe Berra to come across and block his scuffed effort. Cole should have tested Hahnemann.

    Matt Jarvis cuts inside and flicks a cross into the box but Upson is on hand to get a good boot to it and clear.

    Upson then rushes quickly across to deal with Zubar who had snuck into the right-hand side of the box. Excellent defending from the West Ham man.

    West Ham win a corner when Faubert's cross is turned behind by Elokobi. The ball appeared to strike his arm but Phil Dowd was unmoved.

    West Ham, again, fail to make full use of the set piece though. Zola, a fine exponent of dead-ball delivery during his playing days, will not be impressed.

    A scramble ensues in the Wolves box but neither side can get a decisive touch before the away side finally clear.

    Hahnemann comes and fails to claim a deep cross from Faubert and is slighty fortunate to see McCarthy penalised for a foul.

    It is Kevin Doyle with a clinical finish but he takes advantage of a shocking error from James Tomkins. The Hammers defender got the ball caught under his feet and an attempted backpass lacked power, allowing Doyle to nip in and take full advantage.

    Michael Mancienne is shown a yellow card for an exuberant tackle but Wolves deal with the free kick successfully.

    Reflecting on the goal, it is another mistake from Tomkins who is prone to the odd lapse. He is a weak link in this West Ham side.

    Matt Upson gets a header in on goal but Hahnemann catches easily. This is a real challenge for the home side now. They cannot really afford to lose this game.

    Benni McCarthy twists and turns on the edge of the box and lays the ball off to Cole, who sees his effort easily saved by Hahnemann.

    Karl Henry attempts to wrestle control of the ball in the box but is adjudged to have fouled his man.

    Kovac thunders into Henry in the box and appears lucky not to concede a penalty. Replays show he clattered into his man. It was fortunate for West Ham that Dowd decided against awarding a spot-kick for that.

    Mancienne slips the ball to David Jones in midfield and he spins quickly before driving his shot across goal and just wide.

    Wolves have enjoyed 61% possession in the last ten minutes - an impressive statistic for the visitors.

    Kevin Foley does superbly to keep the ball in touch and cuts the ball back into the box, but Doyle cannot convert.

    West Ham need to improve on this performance in the second half. Hahnemann hasn't had a proper save to make really, and that will worry Zola.

    Scott Parker hits the post twice in the space of five seconds! His low, initial effort strikes the bottom of the left-hand post and when attempting to turn in the rebound from a tight angle, he rattles the woodwork again! Hahnemann does suprbly to keep the loose ball out. Wow.

    HALF-TIME Kevin Doyle's goal has given Wolves the lead but West Ham almost equalised, twice, through Soctt Parker. Will that double chance give the Hammers the kick up the proverbial they need ahead of the second half?

    Parker attempts to release Carlton Cole with a nice through pass but it has too much on it for the striker.

    Wolves knock the ball out of play so Benni McCarthy can receive treatment for a bang on the head. The striker looks groggy but should continue.

    We are back underway and McCarthy is okay to resume his place in the West Ham attack. They should be more of a threat with Junior Stanislas on the pitch.

    Carlton Cole wins a high ball and attempts to knock it down to McCarthy, but Berra leaps into action and clears.

    It is the right-back Ronald Zubar who collects a fine ball from David Jones and slams the ball past Green. It took a little touch off Daprela and Green may have done better. Good hit though.

    Well West Ham have it all to do now. They are on course for a fifth consecutive defeat and are in real, real trouble at the bottom of the table. What a scoreline for Wolves though. They will be seven points clear with seven games left if they win this.

    It is Jones, again, who feeds Matt Jarvis and the midfielder takes the ball in his stride before driving a shot past Green from 20 yards. This is an absolute disaster for the Hammers, and the natives are restless.

    Well it doesn't mean very much at all but Guillermo Franco scores a superb goal when beating the offside trap to scoop the ball over Hahnemann. It was a great finish from a man who has looked bright since coming on.
