4. Hello all and welcome to live text commentary of Chelsea v Wigan. I'm Mark Lomas and I'll be taking you through all the action from the DW Stadium, as the in-form Latics (well, two wins in three games is good for them) host the in-form Blues.

Wigan are unchanged from the side that beat West Brom last week, Victor Moses had a storming game next Saturday and Roberto Martinez said afterwards that <a href="http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story/_/id/995413/roberto-martinez-tips-victor-moses-to-shine-for-wigan?cc=5739" target="_blank">he's keen for him to keep improving</a>.

7. Chelsea welcome Frank Lampard back into the starting line-up after he came on to score the winner against Manchester City on Monday. Senor Torres remains on the bench.

8. The aggregate scoreline from the past three games against Wigan is 15-0. Though the Latics were only beaten 1-0 at Stamford Bridge back in April. Here at the DW Stadium, it was a 6-0 defeat last season.

12. Hardly sticking my neck on the line here, but I can only see a Chelsea victory this evening. What a gambler I am.

13. Right, kick-off awaits. Interesting fact - the World Pie-Eating Championship took place in Wigan this week. And no, I didn't win.

    Chelsea get us underway, and Cech has a tricky right-foot clearance to make inside the first minute. He does well.

    Jones, Gomez and Moses with a good passing triangle. It's like watching Barcelona... if Barca were a relatively poorly supported club from the North-West of England struggling at the bottom of the Premier League.

17. 3'

    Cech nearly handballs outside the area after sliding to collect the ball. He almost slid all the way out of the box but released his hands just in time.

18. 4'

    Chelsea with a sustained period of possession but fail to manufacture a chance. Wigan not looking too bad this far.

    Gomez feeds Jones and he wins a corner for the Latics.

    Gomez goes down in the area under pressure from Cole but the referee shakes his head.

    A high foot from Ivanovic nearly decapitated Moses and Wigan have a free-kick inside the centre circle.

    Just saw a replay of the Gomez penalty claim. He went down before there was even any contact. Appalling dive.

    Cole, Mata and Lampard combine as Chelsea push forward. But the move ends with Bosingwa spooning a cross straight into Al-Habsi's hands.

    Diame gives the ball away but Mata can't capitalise.

    Lovely skills from Sturridge to open up some space down the right but his cross is cleared away. Meireles tries a cross of his own but it's the same result and Wigan can breathe again.

    Cole's turn to cross this time and Wigan looking very exposed down the wings, Caldwell heads it away with Sturridge bombing in looking to pounce behind him.

    The visitors controlling things at the moment and boxing Wigan in.

    Diame with a tasty flick to get past Romeu. Yes, you did read that right - a tasty flick from Mohamed Diame.

    Ivanovic gives the ball to Moses and the young forward looks to take on a shot, but Bosingwa is back in to intercept.

    Wigan giving the ball away carlessly and they can't really afford to do that when the likes of Mata and Drogba are lurking.

    Terry with a VERY optimistic shot from 30 yards that lands just wide. Decent effort from the Blues gaffer (skipper, I mean skipper).

    Diame with another neat turn, but his final ball is picked up by Bosingwa.

    Sturridge again has the beating of Jones and Figueroa down the right but the latter manages to poke the ball away for a corner.

    Mata's delivery doesn't get past the first man.

    It's been an alright game so far, just need some proper chances to really spark things into life. Chelsea look comfortable, but Wigan have pace on the break to trouble them with Moses.

    Alcaraz fires a pass into Moses as though he'd done something to offend him, but he does really well to control it before taking a touch too many.

    Bosingwa searches for Cole with a cross-field pass but it sails out of play much to the delight of the home fans.

    Villas-Boas looking calm so far, I haven't seen too much crouching as yet.

    Decent strike from Oriol Romeu and Al-Habsi tips it around the post.

    Sturridge has moved over to the left now, though Mata doesn't appear to have come right. Looking a bit left-heavy now Chelsea.

    Marauding run from Ronnie Stam, in a similar vein to his namesake Jaap in his heyday.

    Excellent hold-up play from Connor Sammon and Moses is looking hungry for the ball.

    Mata with space to run into on the left wing but his cross is met by Caldwell.

    Moses releases Sammon and it's a great run by the striker. Moses gets it back in the box and wins a corner.

    Diame strikes from the edge of the penalty area but it was always swinging away from goal.

    You know I said this was an alright game about 15 minutes ago? I lied. This is rubbish.

    Diame on the burst and finds Moses, who comes together with Ivanovic. Just a good piece of defending from the Serbian.

    Terry and Sammon collide now, but the referee is not convinced it was a foul by the Chelsea captain.

    Meireles strikes one but it hits McCarthy.

    Drogba heads just wide. That was a good chance. He was stooping at the far post, but couldn't steer it goalwards.

    Moses wins another corner for the Latics. He's easily been the hosts' best player so far.

    Jones swings it in, Caldwell with a remarkably deft touch for a centre-back to bring it down. But as he prepares to swing a left-foot at it, the ball is pickpocketed from him.

    Cries of handball from the Wigan faithful as Moses' shot strikes Ivanovic.

    It did hit his arm but it would have been a very harsh decision to give a penalty. His arms were down and had it not hit them it would have just hit his thigh anyway. Good decision in my book.

    Moses wins a free-kick and the Wigan fans sarcastically cheer Martin Atkinson for giving it. Oh, to be a referee.

    Drogba advances in a dangerous position but takes it on himself instead of passing wide. Greedy stuff from Didier.

    Bosingwa crosses and it falls to Meireles who takes on the shot with a superb technique but it's deflected away from goal.

    Moses was half a yard away from scoring for Wigan, the ball across the box was just beyond him.

    <b>HALF-TIME: Wigan 0-0 Chelsea.</b> It threatened to get going in the early stages but it's been a dog of a first half really. Not pretty and chances few and far between. Moses has impressed for Wigan, no-one has really stepped up for Chelsea. Let's hope things improve significantly in the second half.

    Nope, not very impressive. Wigan have defended pretty well but Chelsea haven't really created enough chances. That Drogba header was the best one.

    Moses has been decent for Wigan, but I've also been impressed with Diame so far. I was pretty disparaging about him when he pulled out a trick but he made me eat my words by repeating the feat a couple of minutes later. A bit of finesse to add to his unquestionable physicality.

    I would love to be a fly on the wall in the Chelsea dressing-room to see the team-talk from John Terry ( Villas-Boas, I mean Villas-Boas - I'm not sure what's wrong with me tonight).

    Figueroa turns away from Drogba and that sums up the Ivorian's night really. He's been disappointing and has verged on lazy at times.

    Moses playing keepy-uppy with the ball inside the box, he flicked it over Terry's head but having teed himself up for a volley, smashed the ball out for a throw-in on the far side. Could have been a dream goal but ended up a nightmare shot.

    Figueroa pulls back Mata and it's a Chelsea free-kick on the right wing.

    Mata sends the ball in but there's no Chelsea head anywhere near it.

    Cole in acres of space down the left and he sends Kalou away.

    Kalou does well hugging the by-line and finds Drogba, who manages to manufacture a right-foot prod from a difficult angle. It ripples the side netting and amusingly the Chelsea fans begin to celebrate thinking it was in.

    This may be hard to believe but Kalou has actually added something to the Chelsea team since coming on. A bit of direct running certainly hasn't hurt.

    Bosingwa convinced he deserves a free-kick after running into Jones. No obstruction says referee Atkinson.

     Terrible decision-making from Sturridge. He strode through unopposed but with a chance to lay it back to one of three Chelsea team-mates, he scuffed a right-foot cross.

     Not this time. Cech out to meet Jones' ball into the box. He eats those for breakfast.

     Ivanovic passes it back to Cech, completely underhits it and Rodallega almost took it off the goalkeeper. Cech did really well to get a block in, it was really brave. A shot came in as it fell to Di Santo but it was deflected out for a corner.

     Cech prevented the corner from being taken for a good minute as he was down injured on all fours. I wonder if Chelsea have any knee masks in their kit bag...

     Sturridge the latest Chelsea player to be felled, getting a knee to the back from Figueroa.

     Malouda about to come on and that means no Fernando Torres this evening. Is that the confidence boost that Villas-Boas promised to give his striker? An interesting motivational technique indeed.

     Wigan certainly looking the hungrier of the two sides. Stam crosses again towards Di Santo. He heads it wide again and was penalised for climbing over Bosingwa.

     Moses speeds away having been fed by Rodallega, he looks for Di Santo unmarked in the middle. Di Santo pulled back it seemed but the ref shakes his head. Was close to the edge of the box, and would have probably been a red for Bosingwa if the ref had given the foul.

     <b>Wigan 1-1 Chelsea</b>. The Blues made to pay for being complacenct after Sturridge had scored the game's first goal. Massive credit must go to Wigan - they kept battling and were duly rewarded when a stinker from Cech gifted Gomez an equaliser. Will the knives be out for AVB again?
