5. Major team news is that Steven Gerrard misses out for Liverpool after picking up a minor ankle injury in training. Andy Carroll steps in as Kenny Dalglish opts for a 4-4-2.

ESPN pundit Kevin Keegan previewed the game for us and he reckons that despite Roy Hodgson playing down any ideas of "revenge", <a href="http://soccernet.espn.go.com/columns/story/_/id/975024/kevin-keegan:-roy-hodgson-will-relish-liverpool-reunion?cc=5739" target="_blank"> he would really relish beating Liverpool.</a>

7. West Brom were of course rocked by the news this week that striker Shane Long is out for six weeks, though the Baggies do of course still have Peter Odemwingie leading their line. Hodgson has opted to play Tchoyi in the hole behind him today.

8. Suarez and Carroll looked excellent together in Liverpool's Carling Cup victory over Stoke in midweek and Dalglish will be keen for more of the same.

9. There's only been six Premier League goals at the Hawthorns so far this seasons but on a day of loads of goals, we should be hopeful for more of the same!

11. When the two teams met at the Hawthorns in April, West Brom won 2-1 thanks to a pair of Chris Brunt penalties.

    Adam's turn to search for Carroll now and this time he wins a header, but it's easy pickings for Foster.

    Thomas finds half a yard and looks to poke it across goal towards Odemwingie but Reina is out of his goal to collect.

    <b>West Brom 0-2 Liverpool</b>. Horrendous defending from West Brom. Suarez passed it to Carroll, who was clean through and then after initially appearing like he was running in treacle, managed to poke it past Foster. It was unconvincing, but it was a goal.

    Prior to the goal, West Brom had managed a sustain period of pressure, but it appears as though that was all in vain.

    <b>HALF-TIME: West Brom 0-2 Liverpool.</b> A deserved lead for the Reds against a Baggies team that has been hugely disappointing. Adam opened the scoring with a coolly despatched penalty and Carroll added a second with a significantly less cool finish just before the interval. The Reds have dominated.

    I'd say that barring a Churchillian half-time team talk from Hodgson, Liverpool should take home three points against a woeful Baggies outfit.

    Henderson has hardly been firing on all cylinders, but there have been no real standout Liverpool players aside from Suarez, whose busy movement has caused West Brom all manner of problems.

    I definitely agree with that one, I feel that Carroll makes Liverpool generally more sluggish and less dynamic. It doesn't matter so much against teams as poor as this West Brom one today but it would against any of the big boys.

    Tchoyi engineers some space, taking it past Agger with a smart turn, and then fires a low right-foot shot past Reina's far post. Good attempt, he's looked the best of a bad bunch today for West Brom.

    Odemwingie pickpocketed and Adam sprints through the centre. His shot deflects up in the air towards Carroll, who connects with nothing but air as the looping ball bamboozles him.

    Great football as Enrique crosses low to Carroll, who lays it off to Suarez. His initial shot is blocked by Olsson and then he tries a VERY cheeky chip which sails wide.

     Skrtel tackles Tchoyi on the edge of the area and then gives the ball to Suarez in an impossible position with three players around him. Unsurprisingly, the Baggies have the ball back.
