3. Everton are again without striker Tomasz Radzinski. Team: Wright, Yobo, Weir, Stubbs, Unsworth, Naysmith, Gemmill, Li Tie, Carsley, Campbell, Rooney. Subs: Gerrard, Alexandersson, Ferguson, Gravesen, Hibbert.

   Petit and Carsley slide in for a hotly-contested first tackle. Everton free kick

   And Chelsea skipper Desailly requires treatment already, though he looks as though he may continue

   Stubbs lines up the free kick, plays it wide to to Unsworth on the left and gets in the middle to thump it over.

   Terry falls over his feet under pressure from Rooney, but clears for a throw

   Melchiot clears, Gronkjaer breaks and crosses from the byline, but Lampard gets the ball stuck under his feet as he goes to shoot.

    Gemmill's pass hits Rooney's heel and Chelsea are back in possession.

    Gudjohnsen breaks through the inside right channel, prepares to shoot and Unsworth slides in with a well-timed tackle.

    Yobo looks for Campbell, but really over-hits his pass and Cudicini gathers.

    Gronkjaer takes on Yobo again and wins a corner. That could be a lively duel.

    Lampard retrieves a deep corner and wins another on the other flank.

    Hasselbaink's corner is again too deep and Everton can clear...

    Rooney leads the attack and De Lucas, rather cynically, brings him down. Booking.

    Desailly finds room at the back post to meet Hasselbaink's corner, but Everton skipper Weir heads away as the Frenchman looks for a team-mate

    Petit finds Gudjohnsen on a quick break and Gronkjaer is haring down the wing to support, but the striker delays too long and his pass is intercepted

    Yobo curls in a dangerous cross, but Campbell is penalised for a foul on Desailly

    Excellent start from Chelsea - their passing has been good so far and Gronkjaer looks a threat

    ... but Cudicini is less sure and miscues a clearance under pressure from Campbell

    Chelsea clear their lines and Hasselbaink and Weir challenge for a high ball. The Everton man's come off worse but he should be ok to continue.

    De Lucas does well in midfield to find Hasselbaink as Chelsea come forward again.

    The physio comes on, but the Chinese international should continue

    Campbell wins the header from Wright's long free kick, but he can't find Rooney.

    A poor Melchiot backpass almost goes off for a corner. Cudicini just clears in time.

    Chelsea break quickly again, but Gudjohnsen's pass forces Hasselbaink to go very wide. Unsworth concedes a free kick 40 yards out.

    Stubbs gets the free kick away as far as De Lucas, whose rushed shot is well over.

    Gronkjaer goes down the left agaion, but Yobo holds him off and it's an Everton goal kick.

    Mistakes abound as Yobo's poor clearance only falls to Hasselbaink, but his touch allows Li Tie win to win it back

    Not many chances to report here, with the Everton defence ensuring Chelsea's good football has not brought a goal so far

    Lampard's deep cross is headed away by Yobo, but only as far as Gudjohnsen, who takes it on his chest and volleys over the bar.

    Naysmith sneaks in behind the Chelsea defence to meet Yobo's deep ball, but he can't control his cross-shot and Cudicini claims.

    Another poor touch from Naysmith lets Petit in, and as muich as they've chased, the Everton midfield have struggled to keep the ball so far.

    Hasselbaink drills a long-range free kick into the Everton wall, Petit chips it back ni and Desailly heads some way wide.

    Carsley seizes on a poor Desailly touch as Everton look for a way back, but Chelsea soon reclaim the ball.

    Campbell wins a header in the Chelsea box, Terry is on hand to clear and Cudicini claims the second ball.

    Chelsea build down the right, De Lucas finds Hasselbaink and from an acute angle he shoots... and it's into the side-netting.

    A low Hasselbaink cross is aimed for Gudjohnsen and it goes behind. Chelsea want a corner, the ref gives a goal kick.

    Rooney is unhappy to be penalised at the other end for a foul on Terry.

    No score so far in either Liverpool - Charlton or Newcastle - Villa, so Chelsea are looking good for the Champions League.

    I spoke too soon - Newcastle lead through Nolberto Solano against Villa.

    Naysmith finds Rooney down the left flank as Everton look to build - but they have to go back to the half-way line.

    Hasselbaink wins a free kick 45 yards out, but the Chelsea defenders seem to be staying back for this one.

    Yobo clears for Everton, but once agin, they can't keep hold of the ball. De Lucas tries a shot, but it strikes Gemmill

    ... and Rooney leads a counter-attack and is lining up a shot until Melchiot slides in to rob him.

    Were I David Moyes, I'd be tempted to bring on Thomas Gravesen, because Chelsea are winning the midfield battle so far.

    Campbell wins a header from a long ball. He looks for Carsley, but it's just too close to Cudicini.

    ... but his distribution is poor, Everton are in the box and hte keeper needs to come out quickly to get a touch before Campbell can.

    Terry leans on Rooney for an Everton free kick and Chelsea are starting to look nervous.

    Hasselbaink isn't, however, and though his solo run ends in a goal kick, he has relieved the pressure a bit.

    Campbell turns and is about to shoot on the edge of the box when Desailly comes in with a well-timed tackle

     Weir's poor backpass puts Wright under pressure as Gudjohnsen closes in - and the keeper puts it out for a Chelsea throw.

     Another superb run from Gallas, who makes up 50 yards in virtually no time. Only Hasselbaink and Gudjohnsen are up with him, however, and Everton survive.
