    Chelsea fans mock Newcastle over their paucity of funds. Hughes takes a throw out on the left. Ameobi's cross finds Robert. He pings in a great cross. Terry hoofs away.

    Mutu tries to get Crespo away. Just overhit.

    Bowyer's ball intercepted. Mutu on the charge but the ball is knocked away before he can get on the end of Duff's shot.

    Jenas' ball misses its intended target of Robert. Chelsea build from the back.

    Wasted ball from Makelele. But Veron's ball to Mutu just misses its target. Nice idea though.

    Terry slides in to stop Ameobi. Crespo down the other end. Duff's ball misses the flowing locks of Crespo. Mutu's shaven bonce can't connect either.

    Chelsea the side with more invention. Money has seen to that.

    Bridge and Duff link. The Irishman weaves but the ball is cleared. Viana completes the job.

    Mutu forces a corner. Newcastle's first man gets that clear.

    Duff's cross is cleared as far as Veron. He lashes over.

    Lampard on the charge now. Mutu feints and then shoots. O'Brien clears. Veron's ball to Duff is just askew.

    Gallas' shot is hopeful. A rebound to Crespo and he smashes it immediately. Given claims.

    Bridge bursts forward. Good cross is missed by Crespo. Out to Glen Johnson and he smashes it into the roof of the net. 1-0 to Chelsea!

    The youngster was sent off in midweek. Nice way to end the week for him. Sven may be watching. Gary Neville watch out.

    Lampard's ball cleared by Bramble. Veron picks up the pieces. The Chelsea fans in rapture. Their team deserves their lead.

    Duff out on the right. His ball across the face of goal is missed by Mutu and Crespo falls as he tries to get near to it.

    Robert with a rare attack. He scuffs a cross and Cudicini gets to it before the lurking Viana.

    Duff threatens but a good clearance from O'Brien. Johnson on the other wing. Before Duff gets it back. Mutu's feint before O'Brien stops him.

    It's all Chelsea. Newcastle struggling to stay with them. But Ameobi gets a sniff of a chance before Cudicini is quick off his line.

    Chelsea could fancy racking up a few here....Mutu charges and is hauled back by O'Brien. Penalty and a red card! The incident looked to happen outside of the box. Harsh decision on Newcastle. Another unhappy trip to London for them.

    Veron picks up the ball deep and continues his run. Johnson shows neat skill before slipping the ball back. Mutu overhits his cross.

    Duff's cross collected by Given. Not much being offered by Newcastle but here's a free-kick chance. Robert smashes it away again. Useless, quite frankly.

    Sir Bobby looks pensive. Chelsea have destroyed his team this afternoon.

    Bridge's cross evades everybody but Lampard. He smashes into the pie-stand out the back of the stand. Probably. He missed anyway.

    Duff receives a pass from Veron, looks up and tries to find Crespo. The Argentine can't get to it. Nice move though.

    Robert wastes another free-kick. Bowyer attempts to muscle through but Chelsea get it clear and Cole releases Duff. He wins a corner.

    A number of passes from Chelsea. Newcastle chase shadows until Hughes steps in to control. He then loses the ball.

    A poor cross from Johnson. Nice afro though. Sub Gudjohnsen will come on for Hernan Crespo.

    Crespo gets a Stamford Bridge round of applause. Robert gets the bird for another wasteful free-kick. Someone else should really be taking it.

    Into added time. Not much of it in fact. Nine goals in a week for Chelsea and they have a famous win over Newcastle, who sorely missed Alan Shearer and couldn't afford the sending-off of O'Brien.
