Arsenal – Leeds United

3. Arsenal: Seaman, Toure, Luzhny, Keown, Cole, Wiltord, Parlour, Silva, Pires, Bergkamp, Henry. Subs: Taylor, van Bronckhorst, Pennant, Kanu, Stepanovs.

4. The sun is shining at Highbury as both sides prepare for a must win battle.

5. Leeds have been drawn into a relegation battle and Arsenal need a win to keep their hopes of retaining the Premiership title.

6. If Arsenal don't win today they will surrender the Championship to rivals Manchester United.

   Arsenal kick-off in their familiar red and white kit, Leeds are sporting their all blue away strip.

   Mills sprints down the right flank. Cole rushhes in with a crunching tackle and Leeds win a throw.

9. 2'

   Harte switches the play to the left. Viduka spins on the ball but Keown is there to block his run.

10. 2'

    Henry latches onto a long-ball and races into the box. Radebe slides in with a tackle but concedes a corner.

11. 3'

    Pires whips in the corner and Gilberto thunders a header against the crossbar. Leeds clear.

12. 4'

    Toure looks to be injured as Cole forages down the left flank and wins a corner. Arsenal play it short.

13. 4'

    Wilcox picks the ball up deep in his own half and hits a long-ball for Kewell to chase. It drops over Keown's shoulder and right into Kewell's path.....

    ...The Australian hits an early shot from just outside the box that thunders past Seaman's outstretched arm and into the back of the net. GOAL!!!!!!

    A wonder goal for Leeds and Arsenal need to strike twice to keep the title race alive.

    Pires probes the defence. Gilberto tees up a shot from 20 yards but strikes at Matteo.

    Cole finds space on the left for a cross. Henry is racing inot the box but can't make a decent connection with the delivery.

18. 9'

    Cole slips and an Arsenal attack breaks down. Leeds launch the ball long again, but no joy this time.

    Arsene Wenger looks anguished on the touchline.

    Parlour spins past Wilcox but runs into Mills in the middle of the park. Viduka holds off Luzhny and spots Kewell on the run....

    ...Kewell races inot the box, and rounds Seaman's dive but smashes his shot inot the side netting from a tight angle. He should have scored.

22. 13'

    Kewell cushions a lofted ball and back heels it to Kelly on the overlap. Kelly finds Viduka at the back post and the Australian hooks the ball into Seaman's grasp.

23. 14'

    Leeds are on the attack again. Keown makes a vital sliding interception in the box as Kewell prepares to shoot.

24. 15'

    Henry break s for Arsenal. Henry's shot takes a deflection and Robinson palms the ball past the post.

25. 16'

    Henry's corner goes straight out of play.

    Harte lines up a freekick from the top right corner of the area....

    ....Harte whips it to the back post and Viduka heads over the bar under pressure from Luznhy.

28. 18'

    Bakke bites at the heels of Pires and the Frenchman wins a freekick in dramatic fashion. Henry will take it from 25-yards out.....

    ...Henry's strike hits the wall and trickles back to Robinson in the Leeds goal.

30. 20'

    Keown brings the ball out of defence. Bergkamp turns on the edge of the box but Bakke gets in a challenge and Leeds have possession.

    Toure gallops down the left and eventually hits a low cross into the box that Duberry scoops clear.

    Cole looks for Wiltord but over hits his threaded ball and Radebe sweeps up at the back for Leeds.

    Matteo collides with Gilberto and accidentally tramples all over of him. The Brazilian needs some treatment form the physio.

34. 24'

    Gilberto is back on his feet as Bergkamp whips the freekick inot the box. Kelly clears at the far post and Keown hits the deck in the box.

    Leeds are still trying to pump long, high balls upto their front two but the Arsenal defence is dealing with knock downs.

    Cole sprints at Mills and skips past him. Mills sticks out a leg and makes a great tackle as Arsenal threaten.

    Wiltord probes the Leeds defence but Arsenal still can't find a way through. Cole resorts to a poor long-range shot.

    Leeds have packed the middle of their defence and denied Arsenal the chance to thread balls into the box.

    Parlour finds some space in the middle of the pitch and hits an audacious 30-yard shot....

    ..Robinson palms the shot onto the bar. It spins back to Henry who heads the ball in the back of the net from 8-yards out. GOAL!!!!!

    Highbury errupts (well as much as it ever does) but Arsenal still need another goal.

    Bergkamp latches onto a throughball but Duberry muscles the striker off the ball and guides it out for a goalkick.

43. 33'

    That strike moves Henry level with Beattie on 23 goals, one behind golden boot leader Van Nistelrooy.

    Parlour has another sight of goal from outside the box. The midfieder hits a low shot that Duberry hacks off the line.

    Henry bamboozles the Leeds defence and hits a 20-yard strike that beats Robinson and strikes the post.....

    ....The ball rebounds to Wiltord, who hammers it into the back of the net, but the flag is up for offside.

    Arsenal are putting the pressure on now.

    Harte looks to keep possession for Leeds and spreads play to the right. Kelly chips the ball to Viduka who can't direct his header on target.

    Kelly slides in on Pires, who tumbles to the floor on the edge of the area, but the ref says no foul.

    Kelly knicks the ball off Pires, who flicks his foot at Kelly's ankles in frustration and gives away a foul.

    Wilcox forces Witord backwards. Kewell works the left flank and whips in a cross that Seaman collects on his line.

52. 42'

    Parlour chips the ball to Pires at the back post. Kelly heads the ball away but Pires keeps possession for the Gunners.

53. 43'

    The Frenchman looks to go past Mills, can't, and hits a shot high and wide.

54. 44'

    Wilcox brings the ball forward for Leeds. Bakke tries to fire the ball into Viduka, who just stands and watches after he loses possession.

    Henry fires in a freekick from 28-yards out that glances off the wall and Robinson collects low to his left.

    The ref blows for half-time.

57. All square at 1-1 at the break. Leeds started well and looked in control early on after Kewell's strike. But Arsenal hit back through Henry and now look the more likely side to push on and win the match.

58. Still all to play for at the top and bottom of the Premiership.

    Leeds get the second-half underway.

    Luzhny lofts the ball to Henry, who heads it down for Wiltord but the forward hits a wayward pass.

    Henry controls the ball no the edge of the box but the striker used his hand and the ref gives a freekick.

    Harte lines up a freekick from a perfect position on the right of the area......

    ...Harte's shot takes a slight deflection off Cole's head, then off Gilberto, and into the back of the net. GOAL!!!!!

    Leeds regain the lead, although somewhat luckily, at Highbury.

    Wilcox latches onto the ball and fancies a long-shot. He can't get the ball out of his feet and if flies over the crossbar.

    Radebe takes out Wiltord on the edge of the box and Arsenal have a good chance to equalise form the freekick....

    ...Henry strikes it. This time he gets it over the wall, but also over the goal.

    It's another freekick for Leeds in exactly the same position as Harte scored the goal. Harte will take it again....

    ...The Irishman aims for the near post this time and Seaman watches the ball whistle wide.

    Kewell gets an arm in the face from Keown and the forward makes the most of it. The ref doesn't book the defender, and rightly so.

    Wiltord whips the ball to the back post. Henry fires off a shot but Mills blocks it. The ball runs wide and Henry regains possession.

    The French striker looks up for the cutback but fires a shot into the side netting instead.

    Mattoe stretches for the ball and sets Kewell off on a run. He sucks in Parlour, then Keown and skips past them both with ease.

    Kewell gets to the byline but his cross is poor and is deflected for a corner. Disappointing after some sublime skill.

    Wiltord has the chance of a free header at the far post but Heads the ball down into the ground and wide.

    Henry drives at the Leeds goal with only Harte back to defende. The Irishman holds up Henry until his defence can recover and block the striker's shot.

    Kewell pops up on the right, cuts into the box and selfishly fires off a shot from a tight angle, which is blocked.

    Pires skirts the edge of the box but can't find a way through and fires off a wayward shot instead.

    Duberry backs off Henry, who fires the ball into Pires in the box. Pires rounds Mills and cuts the ball back for Bergkamp.....

    ....the Dutchman fires off a shot with the outside of his boot, as a sliding challenge comes in, and hits the roof of the net. GOAL!!!!

    Arsenal pull level again with two thirds of the match gone.

    Bergkamp clatters into Harte, who makes the most of the challenge, and the Arsenal goalscorer gets booked.

    The ref gets card happy and books Viduka for an innocuous challenge on Parlour.

    Arsenal are pushing forward and are putting bodies in the box. The ball comes back to Bergkamp who looks to steer a shot into the top corner but fires just wide.

    Arsenal make a change and Kanu comes on for Toure.

    Leeds are finding it tough to get hold off the ball at the moment and now Wenger has put on another striker.

    Wiltord wins a corner from a scuffed shot as his teammates waited in the box for a pass.

    Pires flights the ball to the back post for Keown, who heads a good chance well wide.

    Kewell looks to relieve the pressure nand wins a throw for Leeds. Arsenal win the ball straight back.

    Wiltord brings the ball forward down the right flank but Mattee covers well and gets in vital challenge.

    Leeds break through Wilcox. The winger chips the ball into the box for Viduka but Keown heads clear.

    Kewell finds Viduka, who flicks the ball back into his strike partner's path and Kewell fires off a low shot that Seaman does well to save.

    Bergkamp brings the ball forward for the Gunners and feeds Henry on the left. Henry skips inside Mills and fires off a shot that beats Robinson but hits the far post and bounces clear.

    The Gunners make another change. Wiltord is replaced by Pennant.

    Henry treis to shrug of Mills in the box but the defender sticks to his task and wins a freekick to relieve the pressure.

    Leeds make a change as Kewell is replaced by Simon Johnson. Arsenal bring on Van Bronckhorst to replace the injured Pires.

    Viduka finds space in the Arsenal box but glances a free header wide of the goal. He should have done much better.

    The massed Leeds defence charge down shot afer shot unitl Wilcox wins a freekick on the wing.

    Pennant drives down the right and passes to Kanu on the edge of the box. Radebe gets away with one challenge on the striker but gives away foul with his second.

     The Gunners waste the freekick but win a corner......which is also wasted.

101. 84'

     Johnson gets stuck into the action with a crunching tackle on Bergkamp, who is less than happy with the challenge.

     Parlour plays a great ball down the line for Pennant but the youngster slips and Leeds recover.

     Cole makes a forward foray down the left and cuts the ball across the face of goal. Bergkamp misses it and Harte clears his goalmouth.

     Mattoe breaks up the play in the middle of the park and puts Viduka on the attack down the right.....

     ...The Australian cuts inside, evades Luzhny's challenge and flights the ball past a static Seaman and into the back of the net. GOAL!!!!

     The Leeds fans go wild as the Gunners' grasp on the Premiership title loosens. Arsenal need two goals now.

     United are keeping it tight at the back as Robinson takes his time over a goalkick.

108. 90'

     Matteo and Wilcox look to hold the ball in the corner. Viduka is caught offside but time still ticks away.

     Keown brings down Viduka in Leeds' half then rushes back to defend the freekick to prevent Leeds playing it into the corner.

110. 90'

     Frustration is starting show as Leeds run down the clock...but the ref blows the whistle and it's all over at Highbury.

111. The Premiership title returns to Old Trafford. The Gunners have failed to retain the Championship and must lift themselves for an FA Cup final against Southampton.

112. Leeds have beaten the odds to win 3-2 and move clear of the relegation battle at the foot of the table. They will be in the Premiership next season.
