Gallas tidies up after a first raid from Cole, Pires and Reyes down the left

Lampard in with a biting, but fair, challenge on Ljungberg. Chelsea move it upfield but Hasselbaink is offside

Pires into the back of Melchiot, as the Blues rightback shields the ball. Freekick

Hasselbaink looks for Gudjohnsen with the early ball but it's too struck hard - certainly on this surface

Now Toure in late on Gudjohnsen - freekick Chelsea. Lampard takes and Terry is penalised as he tussles with Campbell in the box, while Lehmann spills the high ball. A bit harsh on Chelsea that

Reyes on the burst down the Arsenal left, but his pass for Henry is wayward

First touch for Henry and Terry is in quickly. The Blues man is hobbling though

Lehmann gets low to save Lampard's long-range strike after Chelsea take a quick freekick from Cole's foul on Hasselbaink

Edu returns the Lampard strike in kind, but drags it wide from 25 yards

Duff and Bridge combine well on the left but Vieira is in to spoil. Arsenal break at pace but ref Merk pulls up play to caution Gallas for his late tackle on Reyes, who had delivered a delightful flick forward

First blast from Henry - fired over from the edge of the box. He was through there

Arsenal press on though. Cole looks for Pires but again the ball is too strong. Parker gets back to ensure the Frenchman can't get to it first

More Arsenal pressure. Lauren arrives in the box and Duff has to hack clear for a throw

Now Duff intercepts as Edu looks to thread one through for Ljungberg. Chelsea break and Hasselbaink earns a freekick

Nice passing from the Blues but Campbell steps into break up Hasselbaink and Gudjohnsen's interplay. The Dutchman crashes in on the Arsenal centra-half and it's another yellow

Now Lauren in very tight on Duff - a developing pattern there as the Gunners look to target one of Chelsea's attackiong outlets

Chelsea pegged back as the Gunners probe and press, left and right... Lampard finally steps into rob Henry, who chops him down in an effort to regain the ball

That was the best spell of possession for either side on another frenetic derby night

Henry drags his left-footed shot wide after being released by Reyes' defence-splitting pass following a lightning Arsenal break from deep. A second chance wasted by the Gunners striker

Reyes, showing no signs of the knee trouble that was supposed to be keeping him out of this match, is enjoying a great contest with Melchiot

Epic Chelsea break down the left ends in Duff cutting inside but dragging his close-range effort wide. Great move, great chance but Edu might have done enough to put the Irishman off his strike

Now it's Arsenal's turn - slick passing into the final third but the final ball evades Henry and skids out of play.

Ljungberg flagged offside as the tempo, if this is possible, increases further

Cole catches Parker as the former Charlton man attempts to break up the Blues' right flank

Parker picks up the slightly loose control of Reyes on the edge of the box after Pires had been released by Henry's clever header

Arsenal shading it at the moment but then Campbell has to block Gudjohnsen's long-range effort

Henry is back to bring a halt to Gudjohnsen's weaving run from the right

Then Toure has to concede a corner as Lampard threatens... Vieira heads clear from Duff's cross as Chelsea take it short

Vieira brings down Gudjohnsen, who had dropped deep. Chelsea want a yellow but referee Merk is unimpressed

Terry gets across to dispossess Reyes. Arsenal build again though but this time Parker is back

Toure clears a Duff cross after good work involving Bridge on the Blues left

Gallas looks for Gudjohnsen but the ball is too strong - throw-in to Arsenal

... for whom Edu concedes possession needlessly. Makelele and Lampard work to bring Duff into play but Vieira is back

Ambrosio clears after Terry picks up Henry's layoff to pass back to his keeper

Lampard shoots from wide on the right after Bridge's run in from the left wing. Lehmann can watch it fly harmlessly across his goal and out of play

Toure looks long for Pires - too long. It's a Chelsea throw

Duff presses Lauren - the Cameroon international thinks he's won a throw but it goes the other way. Out comes the yellow card as Lauren slaps the ball away in frustration

Pires shuffles upfield, without much in his way. He looks for Henry, but waywardly and Terry and co can watch the ball roll out

Bridge hooks clear after a cross from his great England rival Cole on the far side

Terry blocks Henry's swipe at goal after Pires' raid. Chelsea on the ropes as Henry rises to head across goal but with no supporting player...

Arsenal press on and Pires rises for what would be a carbon copy of his first-leg goal - but instead he heads Cole's cross wide

Relentless Arsenal pressure as Terry - again - blocks a drive from the late-arriving Cole

Finally, respite for the Blues as Melchiot hacks clear

Lehmann concedes a throw but, just when the Blues need possession and pressure, Gudjohnsen's ball takes Bridge too wide and his cross balloons over

Never mind - Bridge drives in another cross from deep and Cole's touch at the back post is just enough to distract Gudjohnsen, who heads wide.

Terry in again to prevent Pires' ball reaching Henry in the box. The England defender having an outstanding game

Makelele and Lampard exchange passes before Bridge - making a greater impression now - raids forward. But his cross is too close to Lehmann

Into injury-time and Lauren's cross causes mayhem. Henry heads across goal and Reyes is there to rifle home from close range. 1-0 Arsenal!!

A hammer blow from the Spaniard - there goes the half-time whistle. Arsenal 2-1 up on aggregate

Jesper Gronkjaer set to replace Scott Parker for Chelsea as we wait for the restart

Game on again at Highbury

Arsenal's goal was well merited, but doesn't change the game too much - Chelsea needed a goal of their own anyhow

Ljungberg fires an early cross that Ambrosio collects easily

Up to the other end where Hasselbaink briefly escapres Lauren before Toure muscles in to win the ball

Arsenal break in characteristically rapid fashion but Gallas uses his pace to get to the ball before Henry

Campbell heads behind after Hasselbaink's curling freekick from deep

Duff takes - this time Vieira heads behind for another

Edu heads clear from the far post. Chelsea look to build pressure but Gronkjaer dawdles to allow Vieira to interrupt

Chelsea press on though. Makelele fires at goal after Edu's clearance. Lehmann can't control it and Lampard is there to ram in the equaliser. 1-1!

Suddenly Arsenal looking edgy as Hasselbaink lurks for Duff's cross. The Gunners clear though

Breaking upfield where Henry forces a corner. Aerial ping-pong before Henry ajnd Ljungberg have shots blocked. Henry has another crack but slices high and wide from the edge of the box with his left foot

Campbell clears Lampard's cross from the edge of his six-yard box. Chelsea very much on the up

Ambrosio collects as Lauren crosses from deep

Lampard looks to catch Lehmann napping as Arsenal fail to clear from their own throw-in. A speculative volley that bounces wide

Lampard really bossing this game now, seizing on Edu's miscontrol to launch another counter, which he ends with a rapier-like shot that brushes the side-netting. Lehmann and the Clock End mightily relieved

The Gunners have lost their zip and precision of the first half - Gronkjaer looks for Gudjohnsen but Campbell is there

Terry clears as Henry crosses from the left, hoping for a runner from deep

Vieira tracks back to rob Makelele, whose break down the left had threatened to open up the Gunners again

Lampard looks long for Hasselbaink but Lauren is back to pick up a slight miscontrol

Toure has to do the same to dispossess Gudjohnsen as Chelsea continue to fire those early balls

Vieira and Edu look to restore some poise to the Gunners play but they are being harried off the ball now. Gronkjaer crosses and Toure has to rise to clear

Melchiot nods clear at the other end before Lampard is over-ambitious with a long ball for Duff out wide

Henry looking a little bemused as he finds no support for his knock-down on the edge of the Chelsea box

That leads to another Blues raid. Hasselbaink breaks right to cross but it's too close to Lehmann

Gallas clears after Reyes is strong in holding off the challenge of Melchiot to fire in a low cross

Then Vieira has a pop at goal from long range but Ambrosio is untroubled

Chelsea freekick wide out on the left. Hasselbaink takes, but poorly and Lauren intercepts before Vieira is chopped down on the edge of the box

Pires, not much in evidence in this half, picks it up wide out but Makelele is back to block his cross before Pires' last touch gives Chelsea a goalkick

Gallas clears under pressure from Henry

Lauren comes up for the throw but there's little on offer and the Gunners plays it back to Lehmann to hoof

Reyes' cross is no problem for Gallas to head clear

Now Reyes is more of a threat as he seizes on a deflection from Gallas to fire left-footed. Ambrosio palms away before Gronkjaer is pole-axed by Cole's follow-up cross

Arsenal continue to build before Toure, astonishingly, unleashes from 35 yards to force a fingertip save from Ambrosio. Great effort

Blues clear the corner though and work their way up field. Bridge finds Gronkjaer but Edu can clear

Campbell's last-ditch block denies Lampard after Gudjohnsen dwelled on the ball from the edge of the box. He had the better chance

All that came from good work by Gronkjaer, who has been a threat on the right

The Dane goes on another run down the flank, but this time miscontrols under ptressure from Cole

Ljungberg skies a cross behind after Pires' strong run past Makelele through midfield

Hasselbaink perplexed as referee Merk sees fit not to penalise Campbell closing in on him

Turning a little scruffy now as the stakes get bigger, closer to 90 minutes. Both keepers lumping it long. Bergkamp is set to arrive meanwhile

As Crespo and Joe Cole also get ready. Bergkamp replaces Henry - to Highbury's astonishment

A brave call from Wenger, although admittedly he has not seen the best from Henry tonight

Duff is off meanwhile as Crespo replaces Hasselbaink - not much approval for that from the Blues fans stuck in the Clock End corner

Joe Cole's first contribution is to pick up a yellow card - he's in too hard on Ljungberg as he tries to retrieve Gronkjaer's cross

Edu controls neatly but fires a quick ball that even Henry couldn't have reached

Joe Cole on another raid. It's cut back for Gudjohnsen to fire. And only a brilliant goalline effort from Ashley Cole saves the Gunners

Joe Cole at it again - this time on the right but Toure heads clear as Crespo lurks. Chelsea have the bit between their teeth...

And it's Bridge driving forward. One-two with Gudjohnsen and the Blues fullback fires expertly past Lehmann. 2-1 Chelsea!

Highbury silenced - bar one corner - and Ranieri is absolutely ecstatic

Gunners get a freekick in midfield. Pires takes but Toure misjudges his jump and his header loops into Ambrosio's hands

Into the last minute. Ljungberg charges forward but referee Merk won't bow to his attempts to win a freekick

Chelsea work it upfield. They win a corner - but no-one goes up. Behind it goes for a goalkick

That's it! Chelsea break their Arsenal hoodoo on the biggest stage of all. 2-1 winners, 3-2 on aggregate, they go throughto the semis.
