Swansea City – Newcastle United

1. Time for Swansea City - Newcastle United then. Big game for Newcastle, who could move within two points of a Champions League place.

2. Swansea at home have been brilliant this season though, so it will certainly not be easy for the Magpies.

3. Swansea: Vorm, Rangel, Williams, Caulker, Taylor, Dyer, Britton, Allen, Sigurdsson, Routledge, Moore. Subs: Tremmel, Tate, Graham, Sinclair, Monk, McEachran, Gower.

4. Newcastle: Krul, Simpson, Williamson, Perch, Santon, Gutierrez, Cabaye, Ben Arfa, Tiote, Cisse, Ba. Subs: Elliot, Abeid, Gosling, Ryan Taylor, Shola Ameobi, Ferguson, Tavernier.

5. Nathan Dyer returns for Swansea then, with Luke Moore starting up-front. Steven Caulker returns in defence.

6. Santon comes in for Newcastle, Danny Guthrie misses out. Gutierrez moves into the midfield.

7. Moments from kick-off. Let's get ready for this Good Friday classic.

8. 1'

KICK-OFF Let's get ready to rumble.

9. 1'

Newcastle have the ball to start with and play it long towards Papiss Cisse. Cue Swansea possession.

10. 2'

Big chance! Nathan Dyer tees-up Gylfi Sigurdsson, but the ball is slightly behind him and he shoots wide.

11. 3'

Swansea have the ball... (Expect a lot of this)

12. 4'

Swansea can't get the ball out their half though and Gutierrez wins it back.

13. 5'

GOAL Swansea 0-1 Newcastle Cisse strikes!!! Within seconds of winning the ball back, Yohan Cabaye unleashes Cisse with a delightful first-time pass and Cisse fires low past Michael Vorm. Good finish, but great pass.

14. 6'

How will Swansea respond to that?

15. 7'

Swansea are back in their passing rhythm. Newcastle letting them play at the back.

16. 8'

They eventually try to move the ball forward down the right to Nathan Dyer, but Santon steps in to intercept.

17. 9'

They didn't keep the ball for long. It's back with Swansea in defence. Very similar pattern to last week's game v Spurs so far for the Swans.

18. 11'

Lovely passing from Swansea and the ball eventually comes to Wayne Routledge, but his chipped cross is easily dealt with.

19. 12'

Rangel crosses and Newcastle break with Demba Ba, but he slows it down and Swansea recover.

20. 14'

Swansea work the ball well once more and Angel Rangel has an effort from the corner of the box. Well over in the end.

21. 15'

Whisper it quietly... Newcastle have the ball.

22. 16'

Not for long. Back to South Wales version of tiki-taka.

23. 16'

Joe Allen gets forward and from 20 yards Joe Allen looks to test Tim Krul, but it's straight at the Dutchman.

24. 17'

Demba Ba does brilliantly to turn his man from Hatem Ben Arfa's through-ball, but his shot is blocked. Good play by the Toon.

25. 19'

Free-kick given for a foul by Danny Simpson. Chance to whip it in, but Swansea (predictably) pass it backwards.

26. 20'

Routledge sends in a poor cross from the right and the ball is easily cleared.

27. 21'

Swansea are having all the possession, but Newcastle have somehow looked more dangerous. Bizarre game.

28. 22'

Swansea press high and win the ball back, but right-back Angel Rangel miscontrols.

29. 23'

Brilliant from Ben Arfa, bursts past his man and infield onto his favoured left-foot. Shot is tame though and Vorm gathers.

30. 24'

More direct from the Swans this time, trying to get Rangel in behind the defence. The pass is overhit.

31. 25'

    POSSESSION Swansea 75%-25% Newcastle. Dominance.

32. 26'

Dyer tries to play a quick one-two with Routledge, but Santon anticipates well. Lively from Swansea.

33. 27'

Gutierrez almost overplays the ball in defence, but eventually clears. Swansea's ball once more.

34. 28'

Swansea really do keep the ball magnificently. Just need some spark in the final third.

35. 29'

Cisse looks to play in Ba with the outside of his foot, but Steven Caulker is there. Well anticipated.

36. 30'

Great save Tim Krul does well to turn a stinging Sigurdsson drive over the bar.

37. 31'

Pass, pass, pass, pass... It is metronomic. But, it is so deep. Need to be twenty yards further up the pitch.

38. 33'

Newcastle must up their game when they get the ball. They keep gifting it back. This time Demba Ba.

39. 34'

Swansea creeping up the pitch. They spread it to Rangel on the right, but the cross is terrible.

40. 35'

Papiss Cisse celebrates scoring Newcastle's opening goal with Demba Ba

41. 36'

Brilliant from Santon. Sigurdsson looks to have played Nathan Dyer in behind the defence, but the Italian just cuts it out.

43. 38'

Routledge attacks down the left, but Danny Simpson defends well and sees off the danger.

44. 39'

Angel Rangel again wastes a crossing chance from the right hand-side. Terrible.

45. 40'

Sigurdsson hits a free-kick from 30 yards, but straight at Tim Krul in the Newcastle goal.

46. 42'

Committed defending from Newcastle. Players diving in all over the place to deny Sigurdsson. They are wary of the Icelander. Rightly so.

47. 43'

Can see how Leon Britton's pass completion record is so good, but they need to make some passes count. It's pretty, but that is all.

48. 44'

Good defending from Papiss Cisse of all people to deny Nathan Dyer who was looking to charge into the box.

49. 45'

    One minute added-time...

50. 45'

Newcastle skipper Jonas is fouled. Should see us through to the break.

51. 45'

    HALF-TIME Swansea 0-1 Newcastle

52. Swansea absolutely dominating possession. But, there is no threat at all. Newcastle at least have looked dangerous.

53. Ok, the score is corrected. It is Swansea 0-1 Newcastle. Sorry about that.

54. Do Swansea need Scott Sinclair do you reckon? He normally provides some attacking threat.

55. It is an issue. Leon Britton, who has been heralded for his passing in midfield, has neither a goal or an assist this season. Maybe there is a lack of attacking intent.

56. Nearly 80% possession and only one shot. That must change.

57. More of the same in defence will be Newcastle's message. They need to keep the ball better when they get it though. They will tire quickly like this.

58. 46'

Ryan Taylor for Cheik Tiote who has a hamstring strain.

59. 46'

    SECOND HALF underway

60. 46'

Immediately better from Swansea. Nathan Dyer reaps havoc before Sigurdsson fires just wide via a deflection.

61. 47'

Newcastle haven't touched the ball yet. Swansea keeping it at will, Newcastle solid in defence.

62. 48'

Hopefully it will open up soon as Swansea look to become more ambitious.

63. 49'

Side-to-side the ball goes. Santon though does brilliantly to twice stop Swansea probing down the right-flank.

64. 50'

Newcastle make it into the Swansea half, but Ben Arfa is crowded off the ball. Back it comes.

65. 51'

Now Newcastle are able to retain the ball. This is encouraging for their fans.

66. 52'

They break down the right and with Demba Ba in the middle, Hatem Ben Arfa miscues his shot into the crowd.

67. 53'

Dramatic stuff. Terrible clearance from Davide Santon is fired goalbound by Joe Allen and deflects off Williamson. Krul just deals with it.

68. 55'

Corner to Swansea. Simpson knocks the ball behind.

69. 55'

The ball falls to Angel Rangel, but he completely miscues his left-footed shot. Another corner.

70. 55'

Good cross from Rangel on the right and it is headed straight at Krul by Caulker.

71. 56'

Swansea throwing men forward now. Let's hope for fireworks.

72. 57'

Danger as Nathan Dyer breaks behind the defence on the right, but his pull back is just behind Luke Moore.

73. 58'

     Williams for blatent shirt-pulling

74. 59'

Taylor to swing in the free-kick...

75. 60'

Finds Williamson deep at the back-post. But, easily dealt with by Swansea.

76. 60'

     Shane Ferguson replaces Demba Ba

77. 61'

Thirty minutes to go then. As it stands Newcastle will move to two points off Spurs.

78. 62'

79. 64'

Newcastle think they have a great chance as Hatem Ben Arfa leaves Taylor for dead and picks out Cisse in the centre. The ball had gone out though.

80. 65'

Almost brilliant from Papiss Cisse. Allows his defender to get distracted by Ben Arfa's overlapping run and fires an unexpected shot, just wide.

81. 66'

Scott Sinclair on for Nathan Dyer

82. 66'

     Danny Graham replaces Luke Moore

83. 67'

Scott Sinclair does well straight away. Cuts in from the left and his shot deflects just wide of the near post.

84. 68'

The corner is swung in over everybody though. Dealt with by Cisse in the end.

85. 69'

GOAL Swansea 0-2 Newcastle Cisse!!! Brilliant. Simply Brilliant. "A chipped lob, whilst falling over backwards" says Dom Raynor. Cisse was played in by Cabaye down the left-channel.

86. 70'

Really was an unbelievably good finish in the end. Nine goals in eight games in England for Cisse. Yohan Cabaye with his second assist.

87. 71'

After all that - you can follow me on Twitter - @chris_elastico

88. 72'

Britton almost immediately plays Graham in for a quick reply, but the ball will not sit for him and Santon clears.

89. 73'

Now Sigurdsson has an effort, firing wide from 25 yards. Had a few efforts today, all very close.

90. 74'

     Gosling replaces Cabaye

91. 75'

Swansea may feel hard done by so far, but they have lacked Newcastle's cutting edge. That's what £10 million strikers should add I suppose!

92. 76'

Lovely from Ben Arfa, a sharp turn leaves Leon Britton on the floor. Newcastle happy to keep the ball now.

93. 77'

Newcastle keeping possession and content to sit-back. What can Swansea muster in the last fifteen minutes?

94. 78'

Caulker's back-pass is short and Vorm has to rush out. His clearance hits Cisse, but deflects wide.

95. 79'

Scott Sinclair has added something since his arrival. Cuts inside from the left once more and fires at goal.

96. 81'

Pass, pass, pass. The Swansea machine rolls on.

97. 82'

Ashley Williams lucky to avoid a second-yellow. A cynical block on Dan Gosling.

98. 83'

The crowd want a penalty as Danny Graham goes down in the area. Not a single player appeals though.

99. 84'

Lovely corner from Sigurdsson to the back-post, Rangel climbs well to head wide.

100. 85'

Neil Taylor gets forward down the left, but Danny Simpson defends well to win his side a goal-kick.

101. 86'

Swansea throwing bodies forward, Mewcastle scrambling the ball clear.

102. 87'

Can Swansea make the last five minutes interesting? Doesn't seem so. All been too predictable

103. 89'

Still the possession is wildly in Swansea's favour. But, Newcastle are in no danger at all.

104. 90'

Papiss Cisse is awarded the Man of the Match award.

105. 90'

     Three minutes added time...

106. 90'

Sinclair probes down the left, once more it is dealt with by Danny Simpson.

107. 90'

Swansea still refuse to throw the ball forward. They stick to their principles.

108. 90'

Long range effort from Sigurdsson, straight at Krul

109. 90'

FULL TIME Swansea 0-2 Newcastle United

110. 90'

Papiss Demba Cisse is the man of the moment then. He has done it again!

111. 90'

Some areas to reflect upon for Swansea. Still need more of a plan B.

112. See you all next time!
