Oh, hello. Tonight there are some football matches, and this is one of them. This is a commentary. The match kicks off in 20 minutes. Them are the facts.

Will it be six in the Second City for Manchester (the blue one) tonight? I don't know, I'm no soothsayer. Seems unlikely, though. Wolves have the bit between their teeth, booed by their own fans in the last game. City have made 11 changes too, to that side which pulled United's pants down on Sunday and practically wedged a firework up their backside.

Some spiel on the City team that I did take from the news wire: "Mancini hands a first start to academy product Luca Scapuzzi, who made his debut as a substitute against Birmingham in the previous round."

Wolves boss Mick McCarthy has made nine changes, with only Kevin Doyle and Stephen Ward remaining of the side which drew 2-2 with Swansea.

Oh, that draw with Swansea. Let's focus on that for a little bit - much and a little bit extra has already been said about the events at Old Trafford. What will the Molineux attendance be? Low, surely. Maybe the haters will stay away. Those fickle, fickle haters.

McCarthy, speaking to the television prior to the game, is confident that the fans will get behind the team tonight. This in spite of him calling some fans "mindless idiots" this week.

Mancini is now on television. "It's in the past", he says of the United scalp. What a player.

Look, I've just bunged Scapuzzi into wikipedia, and here some things it told me: he's 20, a striker, 5 ft 11in (and a half, apparently), he was contracted with AC Milan.

It's about to start. Some dramatic music playing at the stadium. Teams in the tunnel. Ref holding the ball, walking with it now. Picture = painted.

"Loads of City fans are holding up number 6s... wonder why? ;-)" chortles the official Manchester City Twitter account. The use of a winky smiley renders that Tweet a fail.

<b>Kick-off:</b> Wolves get us under way.

Some early pressure from Wolves, mainly near the corner flag. Doyle ultimately gives away a free-kick.

Wolves look up for this, harrying their opponents. Some good singing going on, from both sets of fans.

Awkward defending from Kolo Toure as he swipes at thin air. Wolves then attack down the left but Costel Pantilimon claims. Corner to City now.

City take it short and Wolves soon do enough to win the ball back and relieve pressure.

A ball is sprayed left and Ward then sends in a lovely cross. Kolarov is forced to head away under pressure. Good from Wolves. Good.

Nenad Milijas drives the free-kick goalwards but it clips the wall and curls over. Corner next, but it is dealt with by City before a shot is ballooned over the bar.

City enjoy some possession and press forward. Nasri picks up the ball in the box and has a pop with his left foot, but the strike hits a Wolves player and the sting is taken out of it.

City are beginning to turn it on now, with Nasri at the heart of matters. He tries to thread in Dzeko but the ball is a little heavy.

Another decent attack from Wolves, and again it is down the left. A cross is whipped in and headed back across goal by Edwards, but no-one is there to meet it. Edwards is involved soon after, once more via a cross, this time his header flashes over.

Wolves are indeed bang up for this, snapping into challenges.

Kolarov is down after the ball hits him in the kidneys. Went down like he had been hit by a bus. He is okay now, surprisingly.

It's been an all right battle thus far. The players are keen, so that helps.

Corner to City after Johnson's long-range shot is deflected over.

Yuk. The corner is dreadful. Way over hit. Comes to nothing.

Savic is penalised for going in a little bit too strongly. He's on a booking. Be careful, Richard Ashcroft. Be careful.

Is that a penalty?

Can't believe it. It's not.

A free-kick is floated in and Kolarov handled. It was blatant. Hideously blatant. Nothing doing though.

Really awful defending makes this goal. A cross comes in from the left and City are all over the place, failing to clear the ball. Nenad Milijas pounces, lashing in from about ten yards out.

Kolarov just tried his luck from the free-kick. It was about 35 yards out and flew over by 'literally' miles.

Balotelli is warming up. Hooray!

City bossing possession now, probing for a leveller. Dzeko should have just done a little bit better with a cross, but appeared to slip at the vital moment.

What a tackle, son. Razak goes powering through and George Elokobi makes a cracking last-ditch tackle to deny the midfielder, sliding in expertly.

Elokobi injured himself when making that tackle, but looks set to shake it off. Elokobi is built like a tank, his chest the width of a desk.

Toure has looked rusty, which makes it even more confusing that he started at Bayern.

There are not yet any shouts of "you don't know what you're doing" from the home faithful.

Wolves' crossing has been superb thus far. Time and time again it has given City's defence problems.

Johnson just dinked a fine through ball to Nasri, who was a little out wide. The Frenchman looked to play it first time to the back post but the delivery was too long.

Dorus De Vries has yet to be tested in the Wolves goal.

Luca Scapuzzi, he's just been involved. Kolarov hit a low cross into the area. Scapuzzi claimed it, swivelled, but then dragged a shot just wide of the post.

Razak is robbed of the ball in the centre of the field and Adlene Guedioura has a strike from distance. He fires it, but the ball skips off the turf and lands several yards wide.

Wolves have been pressing high, looking to win the ball in advanced areas. So far it is paying dividends.

De Jong just took a quick free-kick, but the ref calls it back as he says the ball was moving. Looked harsh, especially as City were on the break.

City have enjoyed 61% of possession. Fact.

It's a beauty. Dzeko rolls the ball to the edge of the box and Johnson lashes it in wonderfully. It flew off his boot like a bullet, nestling into the top corner. The Poznan in the away end then follows. Game on.

A shot each on target, and a goal each. A fine return. Someone tell Luis Suarez.

Another super goal. Nasri breaks clear of the backline and takes his shot nice and early to surprise the keeper. It's a skimming shot that slotted into the far, bottom corner. It was Johnson's assist, marking an imaginary middle finger to the boss.

A cross is slung to the back post and Scapuzzi diverts it goalwards. De Vries saves, but it is not the best save, the ball blocked to only the feet of Dzeko, who lashes in from a couple of yards out. 3-1. Bliemy.

So that was three goals in four minutes. Just what a minute-by-minute commentator wants.

Bring on the boos? I hope not. But it could happen. It really could.

Free-kick right on the edge of the box for Wolves. Really nice area this. Here we go...

Adlene Guedioura spanks it, hard. It flies over the bar. Decent effort, to be fair. Almost half-time. Been quite the half.

Two minutes of added time will be played.

City are bossing this now. They are in the mood.

No boos at half-time, thank goodness. What a very entertaining half it was, as City came from a goal down, scoring three times in four minutes. A terrific turnaround. Right, bathroom break for me. Be right back, as they say.

Well, we'll be getting back under way soon, and I for one want more goals. I'd like them a bit more spread out this time, not in one mad burst leaving my fingers bleeding and much work for the office cleaners.

Kolarov has a right engine, doesn't he. The left back loves to bomb on, time and time again. Always impresses me.

That was a sitter. An absolute sitter. A cross from the left finds Hunt completely unmarked in the middle. He has time, but the ball just hits his boots and bounces away from goal. Rotten, and Mick is furious, strangling Hunt in his mind, allegedly.

City then attack. Kolarov again the man with energy. He whips in a fine cross and Dzeko looks to stab in, but he cannot quite stretch enough and finish.

Scapuzzi is the man of the moment as Wolves again defend unconvincingly. De Vries fails to deal with a stinging shot and Scapuzzi pounces, tapping in past the exposed keeper.

City have been devastatingly efficient in front of goal, just like at the weekend.

And again Dzeko has a chance, this time De Vries does well, blocking bravely at the feet for the Bosnian.

Adlene Guedioura hits a swinging shot that moves all over the gaffe before Costel Pantilimon palms away. The keeper looked worried there.

There's been plenty of shooting from distance from Wolves, perhaps too much. Meanwhile, it is worth noting these sides face one another at the weekend in the league. City will have their even bigger boys playing. Sorry, Mick.

City are having a fun time, looking assured on the ball. Razak has grown into the game. He's quite the unit and swift on the ball.

An update. Scapuzzi has not been awarded that goal. It has now gone down as a De Vries own goal. After a few replays it becomes clear the ball bounce off a defender then hit the back of De Vries before plopping home. Poor Scapuzzi.

I'll be frank, I don't know why Hunt was booked. It occurred during the Scapuzzi confusion.

Adam Johnson shuffled in from the left and tries his luck from 25 yards out. He doesn't catch it right and the ball is shanked wide.

Razak just put some meat behind a strike. De Vries caught this one, though. He didn't spill it.

It's a great goal. There was much passing and movement prior to this hitting the back of the net. City worked it really well, eventually the ball coming in from the left and Dzeko tapping in. Boos followed. Horrible behaviour.

O'Hara had been on just a few seconds before planting the ball in the net. It was again a well-worked goal, rounded off after a low ball in from the left was crashed in by O'Hara. "We're gonna win 6-5" shout the Wolves fans.

Craziness in the City box as the visitors throw bodies in the way with Wolves keen to pull the trigger. The move eventually fizzles out.

Wolves have it. Anything could happen.

And they win a free-kick. Chance to launch it into the box. Oh, they have taken it quickly, and City battle it clear, only for O'Hara to hit a dipping volley that dropped just past the top corner. It was an 'ooo' moment.

Really smart turn from Suarez just then. He was brought down, such was the quality of the turn.

Wolves fans now cheering each pass. At least they are having fun.

Ward smashes in a cross from the right but the ball is cleared at the near post. Dangerous delivery, that one.

Now it's City's turn to cheer each pass. In other news, Savic has settled down after a David Luiz-esque start to this game.

It is worth noting that City goalkeeper Costel Pantilimon is 6ft 8in. That's frickin' massive.

Corner to Wolves...

It's too deep. The ball harmlessly floats over everyone and out for a goal kick. Meanwhile, the television commentary team praise the fans for not leaving yet. Yer, that merits praise. Well done chaps.

O'Hara just had a vicious shot at goal which stung the palms over the keeper. Wolves have put a shift in, just been undone by City's quality. Their strength in depth is absurd.

Hammill joins the list of players to shoot from a crazy distance. The fans voice their displeasure.

De Vries has had an appalling match, in truth. He just then fumbled the ball despite having it in his hands, then gave it to a defender who had a striker breathing down his neck.

O'Hara executes a silky little turn then his a pop from range with his right foot. The keeper springs to his right and parries away. Wolves have matched City for shots on goal. That is no surprise.

City still pinging it about sweetly. The boy Denis Suarez looks sharp.

Johnson just went down in the box. He seemed a little too keen to go down, flopping over like an electrocuted fish. Seen 'em given though.

It's been a fun game this one, unless you are a Wolves fan, I guess. But then, even if you are a Wolves fan, at least there's been goals. Seven of them. Count them. Sevent.

It's been well contested too, both sets of players up for it. Meanwhile, there will be four minutes of added time.

Wolves pushing for a consolation, but Toure hangs out a big leg to dispossess Hunt.

Commentator on television currently reading out players who have not featured for City tonight. Scary list that. And it's Halloween.

Side-netting! Kolarov arrives at the back stick and slaps the ball at the netting. He probably should have crossed, the greedy sod.
