   Woodgate heads off as Liverpool mount the first attack.

   And Bentley fouls Riera. Free-kick to Liverpool. Which Gomes claims. Though not with ease.

   Spurs yet to get in the Liverpool half.

   And that superiority is confirmed as Robbie Keane plays in Dirk Kuyt and the Dutchman roofs it. 1-0 to Liverpool!

   What a start. Liverpool's first real effort and they are looking as though they will hold on to top spot.

   Gerrard corner headed away by King. Kuyt then finds space and is fouled by the hapless Benoit Assou-Ekotto.

   Free-kick from Gerrard. Gomes somehow gets in behind when he was flapping horribly.

    Tottenham make it into Liverpool's half but Agger steps in to quell the danger. Spurs looking rocky.

    Spurs attack shocker. Cross from Bentley aimed for O'Hara but Carragher gets to it.

    O'Hara involved in stopping a Liverpool attack, of which there continues to be many.

    Reina on the charge to stop a ball made for Bent. The striker went flying but no harm done and no foul.
