4. Manchester United will be looking to end a turbulent week in positive fashion, a win away at Stoke City could send them up to second in the table.

5. United pair Dimitar Berbatov with Javier Hernandez up front, with Gary Neville making only his second appearance of the season.

6. Stoke can rise to seventh in the league with a win today, Marc Wilson comes into the middle of their midfield and the in-form Kenwyne Jones is the lone striker.

7. Nearly time to get this one underway, a big game for Fergie's men.

8. KICK OFF Stoke start the match.

9. 1'

Early pressure from Stoke, Kenwyne Jones holding off John O'Shea before passing to Etherington, his cross is too long and Van der Sar gathers.

10. 2'

Faye almost caught in possession by the lively Hernandez, he's lucky to see his teammate bail him out.

11. 3'

Hernandez involved again, he's only inches from making contact with a long pass from the half way line.

12. 3'

Jonathan Walters in acres of space down the right, Kenwyne Jones is in the centre, but once again Van der Sar is alert and catches the cross.

13. 4'

Berbatov is in a heap on the floor after being wiped out by Thomas Sorensen! Fletcher played a perfectly weighted ball through for the Bulgarian, and the Stoke keeper reacted well to come out and clear the danger.

14. 5'

A cracking atmosphere inside the ground, Stoke are taking the game to United early on and have a corner after good work from Collins.

15. 6'

A bit of argy bargy between Neville and Walters delays the corner.

16. 7'

United clear the corner and spring foward, Berbatov feeds Nani and it's three-on-three. The winger clips a cross to Hernandez at the backpost, but it's slightly over hit, and the Mexican can't find Berbatov with his header.

17. 8'

A fantastic start here, both teams are clearly up for this one.

18. 9'

Berbatov and Hernandez are showing signs of developing an understanding up front for United, linking up to good effect so far.

19. 10'

The pace of the game seems to have settled after that early flurry, the first goal will be crucial here.

20. 12'

Van der Sar scampers out of his goal to clear a through ball, but only finds Rory Delap. The Irishman composes himself and attempts a wonder goal, only to see if sail wide.

21. 13'

United earn their first corner and it's easily cleared by Stoke's giant defence.

22. 14'

Stoke have a throw deep in the United half, cue Delap...

23. 15'

United clear the throw for a corner, the pressure is still on...

24. 15'

Van der Sar flaps at the cross, but United clear and Berbatov shows incredible composure to guide the ball to safety.

25. 16'

    Another throw in to Stoke...

26. 16'

Huth connects with the header, but no one is there to finish. Stoke are looking dangerous.

27. 17'

Neither side has managed a sustained period of possession so far in this frantic opening 20 minutes.

28. 18'

Etherington finds space 30 yards from goal and decides to let fly, his effort clattering into Kenwyne Jones and out for a United throw.

29. 19'

Stoke free kick in a useful position...

30. 20'

United clear the free kick out for another corner...

31. 21'

Momentary panic in the United defence! Kenwyne Jones causing all sorts of problems, Marc Wilson attempts to head it back into the danger area, eventually Scholes can hammer clear!

32. 22'

Etherington speeds down the left and leaves Neville for dead, his cross is a decent one towards Walters, the striker chooses to leave it but there is no one behind him.

33. 23'

United with a rare set piece, Faye with a robust challenge on Hernandez.

34. 24'

Nani's attempted shot hits the Jermaine Pennant-shaped brick in Stoke's wall.

35. 25'

Nani standing over a Manchester United corner...

36. 26'

GOAL Chicharito score for United! Vidic headed Nani's corner back into for Hernandez, who attempts an outrageous backwards header that Sorensen can't keep out, a fantastic finish!

37. 28'

Stoke are looking to bounce back after having the better of the opening exchanges. No one team is better at recovering from losing positions than Pulis' men.

38. 29'

Darren Fletcher is lucky to escape a booking for scithing down Kenwyne Jones. Needless from the Scot.

39. 30'

United will be delighted to have somehow taken the lead in this match, Stoke had made a very solid start.

40. 31'

Delap feeds Jones and the striker tries to shrug off Nemanja Vidic, but the Serb stands his ground and United clear. Excellent defending.

41. 32'

It really was a wonderful finish from Hernandez, innovative and lethal.

42. 33'

Gary Neville is the first man booked after a high challenge on Etherington. He is not at all happy with that.

43. 34'

Etherington is still down a receiving treatment for Stoke, he would be a huge loss for the Potters.

44. 35'

He's on his feet on the touchline, we will have to wait and see if he can return.

45. 36'

The winger is back on and Stoke will be relieved, can they claw themselves level before the break?

46. 37'

Stoke free kick, Evra climbing over the back of Jermaine Pennant...

47. 38'

Again United clear, but only for a throw...

48. 39'

Delap slings the ball into the penalty area, Jones battles with Vidic, but no one can claim the loose ball.

49. 40'

Paul Scholes, suprise, suprise, is in the book. Deservedly so for a late lunge on Pennant.

50. 41'

Nearly a disaster for Stoke! Sorensen clears a backpass straight into Javier Hernandez, luckily the deflection clears the crossbar!

51. 42'

Gary Neville is a very lucky boy! Etherington dances past the veteran, who hacks him down and somehow escapes a second booking! Very poor refereeing.

52. 43'

Berbatov sneaks beyond the Stoke backline, gets to the byline where he squeezes a pass past Sorensen, and Faye puts the ball behind.

53. 44'

Evra powers a header at goal from the corner, but it's high and wide, a good effort.

54. 45'

    TWO MINUTES ADDED TIME

55. 46'

Delap with a petulent trip on O'Shea, United free kick...

56. 47'

Scholes with a glorious quick free kick, finding Evra, who attempts to square but it's cleared for a corner.

57. 47'

HALF TIME Manchester United lead through Hernandez's cheeky finish. Stoke are far from out of this. One-nil at the break.

58. 47'

United are fortunate to still have 11 men on the pitch, how Gary Neville escaped a second booking for his lunge on Etherington is beyond me.

59. 47'

Later on we'll be covering the big clash at the City of Manchester Stadium between Man City and Arsenal. Be sure to join us for that.

60. 45'

Wes Brown on for Gary Neville

61. 45'

SECOND HALF United start the second half.

62. 46'

Can Stoke bring themselves back into this one? Gary Neville did not look happy to be coming off and communicated that point in no uncertain terms.

63. 47'

A Stoke throw in from just inside the United half. Delap is over it...

64. 48'

The throw is a bad one from Delap, but they have a free kick after a foul on Ryan Shawcross.

65. 48'

Pennant's delivery is good, Walters flicks it on but Shawcross can't direct his volley goalwards.

66. 49'

Danny Collins is in the book for a strong tackle on Nani, who makes a lot of it, but the yellow card is justified.

67. 50'

United have dealt with the threat posed by Jones admirably. Vidic and Ferdinand have been very commanding.

68. 52'

Etherington tries to attack down the left, but he's tackled and United break with Evra. Hernandez makes a run into plenty of space but Evra doesn't see him, and his final ball is poor.

69. 53'

Stoke are trying to put pressure on United here, penning them back with a series of throw ins.

70. 54'

Patrice Evra is incensed to have not been awarded a penalty! United break and Nani looks for the full back, who had made a charge through the middle. Nani's pass is poor, but off the ball Delap seems to barge down Evra. Slightly fortunate there, Stoke.

71. 55'

Stoke are matching United stride for stride, they very unfortunate not to be level in this match.

72. 56'

Danny Higginbotham on for Danny Collins

73. 57'

Nani takes a very theatrical tumble in the Stoke half. He can count himself lucky to not be cautioned for that.

74. 58'

Yet another throw in for Stoke...

75. 58'

Brown defends it excellently, but is forced to put it out for another throw in...

76. 58'

Nani clears the latest throw in, Fergie's men have been very solid at the back.

77. 59'

A bit of hassle in the penalty area. Vidic shoving Huth into Edwin Van der Sar, who is sent tumbling. Somehow, Vidic earns a free kick!

78. 60'

Stoke have Eidur Gudjohnsen and Tuncay on the bench, Tony Pulis must be considering changes.

79. 61'

And as I type Tuncay is sent to warm up by Pulis. The Turkey man could be imminent.

80. 62'

Walters holds up the ball, and looks to find Jones. His pass is behind his strike partner and those two haven't combined well all afternoon.

81. 63'

Stoke look like they are running out of ideas at the moment, they can't break down the visitor's defence.

82. 65'

Marc Wilson is carded for a cynical trip on Paul Scholes, a silly booking to pick up.

83. 66'

     Jon Walters replaced by Tuncay

84. 66'

The Stoke fans have their wish and on come Tuncay. Can he provide the spark to ignite their comeback?

85. 67'

Penalty claims, again from Evra! Some excellent play between Berbatov and Hernandez, the Bulgarian finding Evra on the left. He drills a cross towards goal, it strikes the arm of Huth, but their is little the centre back can do about it.

86. 68'

United haven't seen much of the ball in the second half, Stoke doing a good job, but they haven't tested Van der Sar.

87. 69'

Michael Carrick on for John O'Shea

88. 70'

It's long throw time again, Rory Delap grabs his towel...

89. 71'

Again the visitor's handle the threat comfortably, great defending.

90. 71'

A thundering break for United, Berbatov finding Hernandez at the back post with a sublime cross, the Mexican connects with his volley excellently, but on the stretch he can only send it beyond the far post.

91. 72'

Stoke are really struggling to create any chances. You sense if they are to find a goal, it will be from a set piece.

92. 73'

Vidic beats Jones in the air once more to head clear, he's been too good for the Stoke striker.

93. 74'

Berbatov attempts an audacious shot from the corner of the box, he slices it well wide.

94. 75'

Stoke free kick, taken short to Etherington, who over hits his cross and it's goal kick.

95. 76'

A little dip in the intensity in the last few minutes, United doing a very professional job of seeing this one out.

96. 78'

Eidur Gudjohnsen on for Jermaine Pennant

97. 79'

Gudjohnsen straight into the action, combining with fellow sub Tuncay to win a corner...

98. 79'

Berbatov doing his defensive duties and makes a pair of clearances to make sure United remain in the lead.

99. 81'

GOAL What a goal by Tuncay! Scholes gave away possession to Kenwyne Jones, who found Tuncay wide on the right. He took the ball inside Evra, before unleashing an unstoppable left-foot drive into the top corner and beyond Van der Sar. Stunning.

100. 82'

Nani trying to restore United's lead, his low drive at the near post saved by Sorensen.

101. 83'

Sir Alex Ferguson will be furious, his side giving away yet another lead!

102. 84'

For Tony Pulis, his substitutions have paid off, what a goal by Tuncay.

103. 85'

GOAL Hernandez restores United's lead!Berbatocv working the ball well, clipping a cross towards Hernandez, who can't win the header. It falls to Evra, who shoots towards goal and Chicharito diverts it into the net! What an afternoon for the Mexican!

104. 86'

Gabriel Obertan on for Paul Scholes

105. 87'

Can Stoke find another equaliser? A crushing blow for the Potters after they worked so hard to get back into the match.

106. 88'

United have a corner, but it should of been a third goal. With Stoke throwing bodies forward, Hernandez breaks. He has two men in support, but he can't find either and Delap intercepts.

107. 90'

     FOUR MINUTES ADDED TIME

108. 91'

A corner to Stoke, Sorensen makes his way forward!

109. 91'

Jones competes for the corner with Vidic and comes off worse. He's down receiving treatment at the moment.

110. 92'

Jones looks a little worse for wear as he makes his way off the pitch. He'll have to return, Stoke have no one else!

111. 93'

Last minute, what have Stoke got left?

112. 94'

A wonderful save from Sorensen! Nani's shot takes a deflection and he does wonderfully to turn it around the post.

113. 95'

United keeping possession. Surely the ref is about to blow?

114. 95'

FULL TIME Manchester United take their first away win of the season. Hernandez was the match winner, but Stoke played their part in an entertaining match.
