So, 11 changes for Sir Alex Ferguson from the team that beat Stoke at the weekend, with Bebe coming in for his first start. With a price tag of £7.4 million on his head, he's got plenty to live up to!

Ben Amos also comes in to the starting line-up for his first start since he made his debut in the Carling Cup against Middlesbrough back in 2008.

Seven changes for Wolves too from the side that battled to a 2-0 defeat at Stamford Bridge.

Stephen Hunt makes his debut for Wolves, while David Jones and Sylvan Ebanks return to the club where they began their careers. Jones was United's reserve team captain until he left Old Trafford in 2007.

These two clubs met in the Carling Cup third round last season, when a Danny Welbeck goal saw United win 1-0 on their way to a successful defence of the trophy.

Wolves have not won at Old Trafford in 30 years so the omens are not good for Mick McCarthy's side but, as they say, anything can happen in the cup.

Wolves get the game underway at a rather empty-lookign Old Trafford.

An early touch for Stephen Hunt there, this his first game since joining from Reading in the summer.

Fletcher tries to release Jarvis, who has started down the right, but the pass is overhit.

Smalling searches long for Bebe, but he looks a little bit languid as he fails to prevent the ball heading out for a goal-kick.

Brown this time aims a long ball towards Bebe, but it asked a little too much of the Portuguese Under-21 international.

Wolves knocking it around comfortably at the moment, a good interchange between Foley, Jones and Mancienne in midfield.

Jarvis tries to escape the clutches of Fabio down the right but the Brazilian tackled him - corner for Wolves.

Very poor delivery from former United man Jones.

Amos getting plenty of the ball early on, and he nearly got the ball caught up in his feet there.

Obertan with a great burst of pace through the middle and he knocks it back to Gibson, whose shot is deflected out for a corner.

The ball comes all the way through to Bebe who wins a throw-in after some rather pointless stepovers.

Another good piece of footwork from 0bertan down the left-wing and it's another corner.

Gibson's corner straight into Hennessey's grasp.

Nice exchange between Obertan and Brown, followed by an incisive pass from Gibson to Bebe. Decent first-time cross, but it's cleared away by Berra.

Carrick slips it through to Macheda but Mouyokolo is there to intercept.

Evans brings down Ebanks-Blake and it's a Wolves free-kick just inside their half.

Fletcher plays a one-two with Jones but Smalling wins it back.

Obertan with a deflected shot with the outside of his right-foot. A big handball claim by the United players against Berra but nothing doing.

Hunt on the break for Wolves and he picks out Fletcher, but a heavy first touch sees the ball finish in Amos' hands.

Park looks for Carrick but pace is not really the Englishman's forte. In fact, I'm struggling to remember what is...

Fabio picks up the ball on the left - he will be hoping there is no repeat of last year's Carling Cup red card against Wolves.

Brown penalised for a foul on Fletcher and it's a Wolves free-kick in a dangerous position by the left corner flag.

Berra heads the ball back across to Ebanks Blake but the forward's header loops over the crossbar.

Evans accelerates forward with the ball but after running 35 yards he gives it away. Poor.

Bebe does well to chase down a ball down the right - he scuffs an awful looking cross in but it finds its way to Macheda, who manages to get a left foot shot away, straight into the hands of Hennessesy,

Obertan attempts a rather fancy flick that doesn't get past Elokobi.

Bebe gives it away deep in United's half but he tracks back to challenge Elokobi.

A great cross by Foley lands over Amos' head but Brown is there to head it away for a corner.

Mouyokolo heads over.

Ebanks Blake trying to work a way past Evans in the corner and he's won a throw-in.

A terrible backpass from Mancienne looked more like a 40-20 kick in Rugby League.

That means it was bad - long diagonal and misplaced!

Good piece of skill from Bebe on the edge of the box, he engineers some space down the right and wins a corner.

Cleared away and Wolves break at pace with Jarvis down the right.

But United regroup and win the ball back.

Macheda ruled offside for the second time in the game.

Bebe gives the ball away inside his own half again, but Brown bails him out.

And the Portuguese forward gives away a foul inside the Wolves half now. It's not been a great game really for him so far.

Smalling does really well to close down Hunt in possession and suddenly United are attacking.

Macheda crowded out on the edge of the area with about five Wolves players around him. He's looked a little off the pace.

Carrick tries a speculative effort from 30 yards but it sails over. Surely only Darron Gibson should be shooting from that sort of range?!

Wolves corner now and Jones is the man to deliver.

Straight into Amos' hands and United break. Obertan gives it away though - he and Macheda just not on the same wavelength.

Very untidy passing in the last few minutes from United but it's McCarthy who seems to be screaming at his players.

Evans hauls Fletcher down on the edge of the box and it's an inviting position for a free-kick.

Jones standing over it.

Straight against Obertan in the wall, and he's now advancing with the ball at pace for the home side.

But yet again the move breaks down. Pretty poor final product and United have showed very little in the way of penetration.

Heavy touch from Obertan as he runs at Berra - looked like he may have had a chance to get past him.

Evans brings down Ebanks Blake for the third time in the game and the defender is pretty lucky to have avoided a yellow card.

Woeful left-wing cross from Bebe. Far too long.

Another corner for Wolves after Smalling tackles Ebanks Blake.

United break with Bebe, but his team-mates are once again left frustrated by his failure to deliver. He has it back though and finds Gibson, whose cross finds the head of Wolves defender Berra.

Ebanks Blake gets past Smalling but is promptly brought down. Wolves free-kick down the left wing, Jarvis to swing it in.

Solid punch by Amos.

Struggling to keep my eyes open here, it's been a pretty poor first half.

Bebe and Elokobi with a great tussle down the right, but the latter claims a rather dubious free-kick when it seemed he had lost the battle of strength.

Bebe with a smart one-two with Obertan on the edge of the box and he fires a fierce left-foot strike over the bar from about 20 yards out.

One minute of added time to play.

There is the half-time whistle...

<b>United 0-0 Wolves.</b> Hasn't been a great spectacle and I'm readying the matchsticks to prop my eyes open if it continues into the second half. Lots of involvement for new boy Bebe but not really positive on the whole. Hernandez must surely be an option soon for Ferguson. Grab yourself a cup of tea - though mine will definitely be a coffee - and I will see you in 15 minutes.

Please lads, let's have some goals or at least some chances!

United find themselves deep in Wolves half early on, but in a matter of moments the ball is back with Amos.

Obertan with a maraudingrun down the right and the ball comes to Carrick, who produces a better effort than his first-half shot. It was sweetly struck but finished in the stands behind the goal.

Park feeds in Macheda but despite doing well to stay onside, Berra is on hand to seep up the ball.

Jarvis takes on Evans and puts a cross in towards Fletcher at the back post, who tries a Van Basten-esque effort. I'm sure you will be surprised to hear that it was nowhere near going in.

Hunt this time with a deep left-wing cross. About as deep as the Grand Canyon; it sails harmlessly out for a throw-in on the far side.

Dangerous-looking cross from Bebe but again a little to deep.

Lovely effort from Macheda.

He took one touch to take him onto his right foot inside the area and curled an effort just over the bar.

Bebe wins a free-kick in the central position after drawing a foul from Mancienne.

Good strike from Gibson from a central position and Hennessey, after initially fumbling, gathers it up safely.

Park fed through with a wonderful ball from Carrick but it's a poor miss, straight at Hennessey.

Subsequent corner from Gibson is straight into the goalkeeper's hands.

United 1-0 Wolves. Bebe drove into the area, his shot from the right took a big deflection off Mouyokolo and just crept over the line before Foley cleared it away.

Great decision from the linesman.

Wolves had just been down the other end and it was a rapid break from United through Obertan that created the chance for Bebe. The Frenchman has undoubtedly been United's best outlet in this match.

Jarvis down the right and he whips a cross in that is just beyond Fletcher.

WOW! Breathe...

The game has burst into life, finally! And now we are seeing real end to end action.

Wolves corner now, Jarvis again the creator - he pulled it back to Hunt but Fabio was on hand to make a great tackle.

United 1-1 Wolves. David Jones' delivery crashed home by Elokobi, who rose highest to score Wolves' first goal at Old Trafford since they won there 30 years ago.

Not the first time this season United have given away a lead!

Jarvis has looked brilliant since half-time. He is Wolves chief threat.

Hunt misses a great chance!

Jarvis did fantastically again, getting to the byline before pulling it back but Hunt - one of three Wolves players lined up - spanked the ball against the bar with his left foot.

Park runs towards the area and unleashes a low shot which skips wide of Hennessey's right-hand post.

Fletcher feeling very optimistic tries one from all of 35 yards out. It's spooned wide and the vision of his name in lights must remain inside his head for now.

Macheda can't keep his shot down.

Good cross from Bebe down the right and Macheda scooped it up from ten yards out on the half-volley.

Chicharito warming up for United and he is being warmly received by the Old Trafford faithful.

Well, I've thrown away my matchsticks because this one has really got going now.

Evans with some schoolboy defending - he allowed it to bounce and Ebanks Blake made the most of his tentativeness to set up Fletcher. But it was another sliced shot from the Scottish striker.

Great challenge from Fabio to deny Hunt when he was clean through after latching onto Ebanks Blake's pass.

Hunt got the ball back and crossed, and Smalling was forced to head his curling delivery off the line.

United 2-1 Wolves Park drove United forward from midfield and played the ball into Macheda - it deflected inadvertently back off the Italian and Park was on hand to curl a left-foot shot into the corner from just inside the area.

Just before the goal, Macheda tried to create a chance in the box but, not for the first time tonight, the young Italian was frustrated by his inability to get the ball under control.

Gibson with a swerving 25-yard effort but Hennessey does well to collect and firmly hold on again.

United 2-2 Wolves. Carlessly given away by Gibson, Ebanks Blake fed in Fletcher who flicked it into the path of Foley. His shot went through Evans' legs and beyond Amos.

Really bad from Gibson there, he has to take a large chunk of the blame methinks.

What a game it's been in the second half! Both Wolves goals coming from their two full-backs.

Ebanks Blake lashes one inches wide form the edge of the area. Guess who set him up? Matt Jarvis of course - he's really enjoying himself out there.

Jarvis skips past Neville with ease and tries to pull it back, but Smalling clears it out for a corner.

Amos with another good punch with Berra closing in.

Ebanks Blake has had a really good game, he's worked extremely hard for Wolves against his former club.

Park leading the United charge but a poor ball to Hernandez ensures that the move slows down.

Wolves coming back now and Bent's effort from 20 yards out stings Amos' hands.

Hernandez picks up the ball in midfield and runs fearlessly at the Wolves defence, playing a beautiful through-ball to Obertan. But the Frenchman's cut back is palmed away by Hennessey.

Hernandez with an unbelievable leap to flick on the ball to an onrushing Obertan. He's clean through down the right but chooses to shoot instead of looking back towards Chicharito.Bad decision.

Wolves now with four strikers on the pitch. Cannot believe McCarthy has taken Jarvis off though.

Park just whipped the ball across the face of the goal, but no United players could connect.

Bent's turn now to fire in a cross, but like Park's it is a bit too strong. Gary Neville keeps the ball in play with a smart backheel, much to the delight of United's supporters,

Macheda irate as a throw-in decision is given against him following an impressive bit of physical hold-up play against Doyle.

United 3-2 Wolves. Hernandez starts the move with a neat flick to Gibson in midfield. He takes the return ball back from Gibson, moves the ball inside with a wonderful turn to take Berra out the game and then sees his left-foot shot bounce in off Hennessey - great goal.

Four minutes of injury time to play. Though it will be a little longer as the referee has just gone off injured himself.

Wolves still on the march though - they're pushing hard for their third equaliser.

Looping volley from 35 yards out from Foley. Could have been a goal of the season contender. COULD have been.

Carrick and Hernandez happy to keep possession.

Bent clean through...

I wondered how he was quite so clean through, he was 20 yards offside!

<b>United 3-2 Wolves</b>. After a dour first half, we were able to enjoy a fantastically entertaining second period. Wolves twice came from behind to goals from Bebe and Park, but the strikes from Elokobi and Foley - helped by an impressive display from Jarvis - were in vain. Chicharito, Old Trafford's new hero, was introduced and for the second time in three days, the "Little Pea" was United's matchwinner. Enthralling stuff.
