   Early Liverpool pressure forces O'Shea to thump it long. Gerrard looks for Owen and Baros arrives for Brown's knockdown to produce a great save from Barthez

   Strong hands from the French keeper. Liverpool look for Baros again from the throw-in, but the ball's out of play for a United goalkick

   United win a freekick on the right - swept in by Giggs and van Nistelrooy gets a glancing header to it. Dudek grateful to collect at his feet

   Liverpool break quickly and Owen tests Barthez - this time a more comfortable save

   Good work from Scholes allows van Nistelrooy to burst in from the right. Forlan finds Solskjaer behind the Liverpool defence but the flag's up as the Norwegian side-foots past Dudek.

    A close shave for the home side... Now some niggle between van Nistelrooy and Hyypia requires words from referee Wiley

    Now Van Nistelrooy chops in on Henchoz in midfield after a tough tackle from the Swiss defender. Yellow card for the Dutchman as the Anfield temperature rises

    Owen arrives late as Neville chips ahead - free-kick United

    An exchange of possesion before Hamann takes control, looking for Traore on the left and this time Neville is in robustly, much to the anger of the home support. But no freekick

    O'Shea pushes forward but loses out in the air. Silvestre seems to barge into Baros but again the referee waves play on.

    More midfield battling as Murphy and then Neville win tackles. Scholes looks for Solskjaer but it's out of play

    O'Shea - getting forward from left-back again - wins a freekick as Carragher blocks his path. Freekick lofted into the box but the red shirts can clear

    Neville does well to nudge Owen aside as the England striker tries to burst onto Murphy's neat flick

    Liverpool rebuild and Murphy finds Owen threatening on the right. Brown is well-placed to block the cross though

    Hamann is caught out as Forlan finds Solskjaer on the right. A dangerous, low cross and Dudek has to scoop low down with van Nistelrooy lurking

    Liverpool break swiftly to earn a corner on their right - comfortably cleared

    Scholes finds Solskjaer throught the middle. Liverpool back off momentarily, allowing the Norwegian to shoot powerfully from distance. Dudek dives to his left to make the save

    Hyypia heads clear as Solskjaer crosses in search of van Nistelrooy and Forlan.

    Liverpool break as Giggs' corner is headed away by Murphy. Baros wrestles past Brown but the England defender hauls him back... yellow card

    Now Smicer is simiarly guilty on the far side. Another caution, Liverpool's first

    Into injury time and United win an attacking throw on their right. But Neville's delivery is too strong for target man van Nistelrooy - goalkick.

    Same again from Gerrard on the right - this time it's overhit and Baros is penalised for hand-ball as he tries to retrieve the ball wide out

    That's the Czech's last contribution as Heskey takes his place with Liverpool hoping that greater physical power can break United's makeshift rearguard

    Barthez volleys clear after Neville's long, long back-pass. United happy to keep their shape
