Stoke City – Manchester United

1. Welcome along everyone for commentary on Stoke v Man Utd.

2. The big team news is that Wayne Rooney is missing. Berbatov and Hernandez start up top for the champions.

3. Rio Ferdinand also starts for United. No word as to whether Rooney is rested or injured.

4. An injury to Kenwyne Jones means Peter Crouch starts again. Andy Wilkinson replaces Robert Huth. Whelan is in for Whitehead and Jerome drops to the bench.

5. 1'

   KICK OFF

6. 2'

A late change for Man Utd as Evans was injured in the warm up and Valencia comes in at right back. Jones switches to sentre half.

7. 3'

De Gea flaps at the first Delap bomb but Valencia tidies up.

8. 4'

Big chance for United as Hernandez goes through. Woodgate leans into him and the striker is caught by Begovic as he falls. United scream for a penalty and they might have a case.

9. 5'

Hernandez is still down after the collision. Think it is a blow to the side he is struggling with.

10. 6'

Hernandez limps round the pitch - like he did after Ashley Cole's tackle last week - but he's trotting now and should be ok to continue.

11. 7'

Now a yellow for Whelan after a cruncher on Evra that sends him sprawling.

12. 8'

Fergie is far from happy on the touchline, muttering to himself.

13. 9'

Hernandez looks like he won't be able to carry on and limps towards the tunnel. Looks like Owen will be on imminently.

14. 10'

Another brilliant run from Jones, down the left this time, and he wants handball as Woodgate blocks his cross. It hit his face I think.

15. 11'

     Owen replaces the luckless Hernandez.

16. 12'

So, no Rooney, no Welbeck and now no Hernandez. Owen and Berbatov with a chance to state their case.

17. 13'

Delap will launch another into the box. Clearly a tactic to test De Gea's mettle.

18. 14'

Crouch has nodded wide from six yards out but is penalised for a shove. He did have hands in Jones's back quite clearly.

19. 15'

A gritty start to the game and United suffering a little from the change of personnel.

20. 17'

A good overlap from Wilson as Walters found him but the cross is poor and Jones clears.

21. 18'

Anderson crosses and Berbatov flashes a header wide.

22. 19'

Pennant is now down for Stoke. Its been a very stop start opening 20 minutes.

23. 20'

Hopefully some football might break out in a bit.

24. 21'

Stoke return the ball to United after they knocked it out of play.

25. 23'

No fluency from United so far. Stoke breaking the game up well.

26. 24'

Another foul given against Crouch, who is still searching for his first Stoke goal.

27. 25'

Stoke are not happy with referee Peter Walton as he hands United another free kick.

28. 27'

     GOAL Nani scores!

29. 27'

A fantastic goal as Nani plays a one-two with Fletcher, cuts inside Woodgate and fires past Begovic into the bottom corner.

30. 28'

Wilkinson has nearly equalised! He gets into the box and smashes in a shot that De Gea gets a vital hand on to divert it onto the bar.

31. 29'

That was a fine reaction save from De Gea to deny Wilkinson his first ever goal for Stoke.

32. 30'

Owen almost latches onto a Nani punt upfield but Shawcross gets there in time.

33. 31'

Crouch wins the header this time but Walters had gambled the other way.

34. 32'

Nani has missed an open goal! An awful touch from Begovic lets Young lay off to Nani but he hits his shot over the top from the edge of the box with the goal unguarded.

35. 33'

Woodgate and Owen chase for the ball. No injuries to report.

36. 34'

Decent passage of play from Stoke as Walters crossesd for Crouch, Ferdinand clears his header before Delap fires wide from 25 yards.

37. 35'

Another fine save from De Gea! Walters shoots this time and the effort is heading for the bottom corner before the keeper gets a fingertip on it.

38. 36'

But again from the corner De Gea gets blocked off and Woodgate heads over off balance.

39. 37'

Stoke defend a corner in their own box well as Young swings it in.

40. 38'

Owen has hardly touched the ball since coming on.

41. 39'

Nani winds up the crowd as they cheer an errant touch that takes the ball out of play.

42. 40'

Nani crossesd and Owen collects but Woodgate clears behind.

43. 41'

Nani crosses after a short corner but Wilkinson clears as Jones lurked at the back post.

44. 42'

Another effort on goal from Nani but he didn't catch this one cleanly and it dribbles through to Begovic.

45. 43'

A deep cross from Walters and both Crouch and Pennant miss it on the stretch at the back post.

46. 44'

Crouch's long leg nearly sets up a chance for Walters but Ferdinand clears.

47. 45'

Four minutes of added time after the Hernandez injury as Jones marauds forward again and wins a corner.

48. 45'

HALF TIME Begovic slides out to claim as Owen looked to pounce on a ball into the area and that is HT. Nani's goal separates the teams but De Gea has been busy.

51.
Nani fires Man Utd in front

52. 46'

    We begin again...

53. 47'

    Etherington crosses to no-one especially.

54. 48'

Fergie will be wanting to see more from his front two. They have hardly imposed themselves on the game yet.

55. 50'

Nearly an involvement for Owen there as Young crosses and the striker can't direct it on goal.

56. 52'

     GOAL Crouch!

57. 52'

How simple was that? Etherington's corner and Crouch's header from close range.

58. 53'

Crouch has now scored for six Premier League clubs. that was his first top flight goal against Man Utd too.

59. 54'

That has sparked Berbatov into life as he crosses dangerously in the first instance then fires a shot right at De Gea shortly afterwards.

60. 55'

Crouch has missed a great chance! Ferdinand misses a cross and Crouch brings it down before hitting it right at De Gea from six yards.

61. 56'

Delap's flat and hard throw-in is cleared before Anderson hoofs the ball long for Owen but he lacks the pace to threaten Wilkinson.

62. 57'

Great work from Nani as he beats two men and crosses, Berbatov tries to turn but loses possession.

63. 59'

Owen drops deep to pick up the ball as Welbeck warms up.

64. 60'

Stoke are in control of the game at present.

65. 61'

Another lung-busting run from Jones but he overran the ball when Owen was screaming for it.

66. 62'

Nice one-two between Pennant and Walters but no-one is in the box to meet the cross.

67. 63'

Stat attack: The other 5 players to have scored for 6 Premier League clubs are Andy Cole, Les Ferdinand, Marcus Bent, Nicky Barmby and Craig Bellamy.

68. 64'

Crouch lunges into try and reach a stray ball in the box.

69. 65'

    Welbeck is getting stripped.

70. 66'

Ferdinand is penalised for a barge on Crouch though it looked very soft. Free kick on the edge of the box.

71. 67'

Wilson took it and De Gea punches the powerful effort clear. Lucky for the keeper it was straight at him.

72. 68'

The way the game is going United's 100% record is in serious danger.

73. 69'

Young is found in space by Evra but Begovic beats away his shot. The ball comes back to Evra and his shot looks like it clips Shawcross' hand.

74. 70'

Double change for United: Giggs and Welbeck replace Berbatov and Young.

75. 71'

More than clipped, it hit the underside of the Stoke defender's arm. The linesman gave offside for some reason.

76. 72'

Evra is down now. Not sure who clipped him.

77. 73'

On the replay it looks as if Evra's shot hit Shawcross' forearm. It was tucked in by his side too. Tricky one.

78. 74'

Giggs wins a corner and takes it quickly but Begovic is out just as smartly to punch clear.

79. 75'

Nani wins a corner from another shot from outside the box.

80. 76'

Giggs crosses this time and Shawcross prevents Owen getting on the end of it. United pushing hard now.

81. 77'

Owen wins a header from Jones's cross but it isn't near to troubling Begovic.

82. 78'

Poor ball from Anderson as Giggs charged forward. Fergie not happy.

83. 80'

Giggs into the box and round Wilson but he can't find a blue shirt in the box.

84. 81'

Another man down - Wilkinson this time.

85. 82'

Wilkinson trudges off and Huth comes on.

86. 83'

Crouch wins another header from a corner, with the help of some leaning on Jones, but heads wide. Again De Gea was nowhere.

87. 85'

Whitehead comes on for Rory Delap.

88. 86'

Crouch does well to hold off Valencia, chest the ball down and make a chance for himself but off balance he volleys wide of the near post.

89. 87'

Looks like the only remaining 100% record in English football is about to disappear.

90. 88'

Awful touch from Nani as he had a chance to cross with numbers in the box. Fergie tells him so.

91. 90'

    Four minutes added....

92. 91'

Huge chance for Giggs! Nani crosses to the back post and Giggs is totally free but he hasn't hit the target from an angle.

93. 92'

Pennant off and Jerome on for Stoke.

94. 93'

Owen has his chance ..... oh, he's offside after a flick from Anderson. Good decision too.

95. 94'

Nani hangs a cross up and Begovic claims right underneath his bar.

96. 95'

FULL TIME Stoke's first ever Premier League point against Man Utd and a well deserved one. Crouch cancels out Nani's opener and United drop points for the first time this season. United go back top thanks to goal difference.
