1. Join us at 13.30 UK time for live commentary of Chelsea's home game against Liverpool. It's a mouth-watering prospect - 1st v 2nd in the Premier League. If Liverpool can win surely they are genuine title contenders. All the action, right here from 13.30!

2. So, here we go and the teams are out on the pitch. For Chelsea: Cech, Bosingwa, Carvalho, Terry, Ashley Cole, Mikel, Kalou, Deco, Lampard, Malouda, Anelka. And the subs: Cudicini, Ivanovic, Di Santo, Sinclair, Ferreira, Alex, Belletti.

3. For Liverpool: Reina, Arbeloa, Carragher, Agger, Aurelio, Alonso, Mascherano, Kuyt, Gerrard, Riera, Keane. On the bench: Cavalieri, Dossena, Hyypia, Benayoun, Pennant, Babel, Leiva Lucas.

4. Referee Howard Webb blows the whistle and at a damp Stamford Bridge the game is underway.

   Keane is the lone striker for Liverpool, looks like Gerrard is offering support in a free role. Hopefully Benitez will get his team playing for the win, not the draw.

   Chelsea knock the ball about across the back, getting a feel for it in the conditions.

   Mikel over-hits a pass towards the back post. Thumbs up all round from the Chelsea players who say what the much-improved player was aiming for.

   Alonso slips on the soaking surface and the ball is won by Anelka, he is tackled but the ball arrives at Deco's feet who drives from range.

   A little worry for Liverpool there. Alonso's slip showing that conditions are tricky out there.

    There have been 20 meetings between these two sides in the last for seasons in the league, Champions League and domestic cups - they know eachother well.

    Kalou given offside - close call.

    Not much in the way of dominance establihed yet in midfield as both sides try to play around the packed central area rather than through; it could be a big game for the wide players.

    Cole cuts short an Arbeloa run and Liverpool have a throw in.

    From the throw close to the corner flag Kuyt backheaded the ball to the edge of the penalty area where Alonso tried his luck from range which was deflected by Bosingwa beyond Petr Cech.

    A slightly lucky goal, but a goal all the same and now Chelsea have to attack. We have a game on our hands!

    Kalou' poor pass is exploited by Liverpool who break quickly to end a good spell of movement and possession from Chelsea.

    Kalou scuffs a shot and Reina saves easily. Jeers meet the move's conclusion with the fans wishing the ref had not played advantage after Lampard was clearly fouled, but with Kalou just about to pull the trigger the fault was the player's not the ref's.

    Worried that it's getting a little aggresive the ref has a stern word with Alonso for a full-blooded sliding tackle. He won the ball, but it was a bit risky. No card. Good work, Mr Webb.

    Riera exploits a slip by Bosingwa, charges to the line and tries to score from a tight angle - much to Gerrard's annoyance who was unmarked and screaming for the pull-back.

    Chelsea have had more of the ball, but are the more rattled side. Liverpool have gone for it, and perhaps that tactic has surprised Chelsea in the opening phase of the match.

    Carragher screams at Agger after the younger centre half left his colleague all alone in defence after a dynamic forward run.

    Liverpool soak up the Chelsea pressure and make a telling intervention through Carragher who outmuscles Anelka on the edge of the box.

    Yellow card for Riera for a cynical body-check on the forward running Chelsea right back Bosingwa.

    Deco being given a lot of time and space in the centre of the pitch to pull the strings for Chelsea - dangerous tactic?

    There really is a tremendous amount of movement in the Chelsea team - it is exceptional. How can you mark a man when he's all over the pitch? Liverpool's defence must be alert today.

    Chelsea are getting back into it after a torrid spell on the back foot.

    A corner for Chelsea comes to nothing, but Liverpool's decision not to put a player on either post seems a little risky. If Scolari has noticed, corners may be executed differently after the break.

    Keane starting to look isolated on his own up fornt as Gerrard drops deeper in the fray to help win the ball from an increasingly dominant Chelsea.

    The canny Mascherano takes a standing count boxing style to take the sting out of Chelse's incessant attacks. He acts winded after taking the ball square in the guts, he could have played on but he and Liverpool needed the breather!

    Five minutes to go and it's getting a little niggly with tackles becoming fouls and the refs whistle interupting the flow.

    Scolari will have a few things to think about at the break - his side have had bright moments, but Anelka and Kalou have been found wanting. If Drogba was playing it might have been a different story.

    Gerrard finds Kuyt with a long ball, in turn he finds Keane. Chelsea win it, but uncertainty between Carvalho and Bosingwa nearly led to a dangerous moment in the area.

    Lampard and Deco share a 1-2 pass and move, but Agger reads it and intercepts, before being tackled himseld.

    Mascherano gets a yellow card for dissent. He was no fan of Cole wreckless challenge on Babel, and it was a stinker, but the ref missed the tackle but heard the backchat from Mascherano.

    Mascherano wastes a great opening for Liverpool on the quick break. With Liverpool tearing out of defence they were two-on-two with Chelsea when Gerrad fed the the ball to Mascherano. But instead of taking a touch he clipped a poor ball into the area an no other Liverpool player. Wasted chance.

    Agger takes a whack and takes a moment to gather his breath and senses.

    There are 20 minutes left, and therefore plenty of time to win, let alone draw the game, but nerves are setting in amongst the Chelsea fans; that home record is a proud thing, but weighs heavily.

    Ashley Cole blows Chelsea's best chance of the game, air-kicking at the ball after a superbly deft header from Di Santo. The ball was right in front of Cole begging to be rifled home on the volley, but he sliced it and holds his head in his hands. Couldn't happen to a nice chap.

    Di Santo proving to be a real handful for Carragher and Agger; quick, strong, good in the air and great on the deck: a nightmare for tired defenders.

    Carragher with a superb tackle to deny Deco a clear shot on goal - corner ball. That was a great piece of defending from Carra, last-tditch blocking at it's desperate best.

     Hyypia's first touch is mis-placed header whihc soon results in a fresh Chelsea attack. But his second is far more assured header which clears the danger.
