6. So, a huge chance for Manchester United to close the gap on Chelsea after they lost at Man City yesterday. Fergie's team are yet to win away, while Bolton are still to win at home. Draw anyone?

7. 1'

   We're off..

8. 2'

A long spell of possession ends with a superb ball from Rooney to Berbatov but his shot from a tight angle is wildly ambitious, but shows the sort of confident mood he is in.

9. 3'

Now Giggs gets space down the left and crosses but Ricketts concedes a corner.

10. 4'

Bolton can't get a kick at the moment.

11. 5'

Bolton's first spell of possession ends qwith a sight of goal for Lee, who fires narrowly wide from the edge of the box with the help of a deflection.

12. 6'

GOAL Zat Knight puts Bolton in front! He just stole a yard on his marker and flicked the ball into the net. A nightmare start for the visitors!

13. 7'

Bolton had hardly had a kick before the move that led to the corner and now they are in front! United hit back and win a corner themselves.

14. 8'

Rooney turns neatly but passes right to Robinson.

15. 9'

By the way, reload the page (press F5) for a longer description of the goal that has put Bolton in front. That's how we do it these days.

16. 10'

A good chance for United to equalise as Giggs meets Nani's cross on the penalty spot but shoots right at Jaaskelainen.

17. 11'

Scholes chops Davies down and Bolton can turn this into the box.

18. 12'

Rooney strays offside as Berbatov tries to play him in, then when he does clip a ball the flag goes up. Rooney punches the ball in frustration and is lucky not to get a card.

19. 13'

Now a fine save from Jaaskelainen as Fletcher charges through and tries to place a shot in the corner. Ricketts completes the clearance. Good game this.

20. 14'

Van der Sar comes out to claim a Bolton corner.

21. 15'

     Knight flicks Bolton in front.

22. 16'

Rooney has a pop from 25 yards but his effort is weak and it is easy for Jaaskelainen.

23. 17'

Very nearly 2-0! A ball into the box is flicked on by Davies, O'Shea lets Elmander go and though he can't make contact, Van der Sar gets a very important hand on the ball to prevent it going in.

24. 18'

Vidic manages to get a long ball back to Van der Sar but United are not dealing well with Davies in the air.

25. 19'

Fletcher's run ends with a cross but Knight nips in after an errant touch from Rooney.

26. 20'

Another stray Rooney pass breaks down a United move.

27. 21'

Again another cross causes United problems as Elmander goes near post.

28. 22'

A storming run from Ricketts ends with a rasping shot but Van der Sar claims above his head.

29. 23'

GOAL A brilliant individual goal from Nani. A mazy run, then a low shot into the corner. Superb.

30. 24'

That's a fine goal. He picked the ball up in his own half and jinked his way to the edge of the box before firing home. Owen Coyle will be disappointed that nobody managed to get a challenge on Nani given how far he ran.

31. 25'

Sam Allardyce is in the stands. Remember, there will only ever be one Sam Allardyce.

32. 26'

Bolton win a corner and Holden will take it.

33. 28'

Holden's corner is poor and too long, and Rooney clears.

34. 29'

Bolton's corner leads to a United counter attack but Berbatov slows it and Wanderers get back in position.

35. 30'

Berbatov is flagged offside and just before that Ricketts made a vital challenger to prevent Fletcher getting into the box on the left.

36. 31'

Rooney finds Giggs in space but his cross is cleared by Holden.

37. 32'

Good pressure from United as they work another crossing chance for Nani and he wins a corner.

38. 33'

Berbatov's cross is cleared by Knight but Petrov and Davies can't profit on the break.

39. 34'

Nani makes a mug of Robinson by keeping the ball in and then skipping round the defender but his pass then trickles out of play.

40. 35'

Evra fouls Lee and another good chance for Bolton from the right.

41. 36'

The referee hands United a free kick.

42. 37'

An excellent clearance from Knight on his six yard line as Nani's ball came in. Good defending.

43. 38'

Bolton being penned back more and more here.

44. 39'

Rooney cuts inside and unloads and that is only just over the bar.

45. 41'

Pertov tries to be a bit too cute on the egde of United's box as Bolton enjoy a decent spell of possession but they can't find a way through.

46. 42'

Great chasing from ELmander to pressure Evans.

47. 43'

Its all gone a bit scrappy now as Bolton try to hang on for half time. As I say that they open United up slightly as Elmander gets into the box ans wins a corner as his shot was deflected by Fletcher.

48. 44'

The ball ricochets around the box before a red shirt sticks a leg out and clears. Bolton should go aerial more often I think, that is where they are hurting United.

49. 45'

HALF TIME Vidic nods a late corner wide and that is that. A good opening half, that trailed off slightly towards the end but encouragement for both sides in an attacking sense.

50. 46'

    We begin again...

51. 47'

An early chance for Rooney on the volley as Evra gets down the left and crosses. A tough opening.

52. 49'

A rare, misplaced pass from Scholes as he looked for Nani.

53. 50'

Aside from that early Rooney chance it's been a slow start to the half.

54. 51'

Petrov works a space for a shot and it is directed at the top corner but just a little too high.

55. 52'

Elamnder closes down and blocks a Van der Sar clerance but Petrov can't make the most of it. Looks like Park is coming on for Giggs.

56. 53'

Great work from Elmander as he wins a corner off Vidic. Park is on for Giggs, who is flexing his hammy.

57. 54'

Davies rises to meet the corner and nods it wide. Justice done because Elmander got the last touch in the Vidic challenge.

58. 55'

Lee does very well to steal the ball off Evra and now Nani is protesting he was caught by the arm of Muamba.

59. 56'

Rooney takes a long ball beautifully but he was offside.

60. 57'

Berbatov gives the ball away then so does Petrov as Bolton try to break. Scrappy, scrappy stuff.

61. 58'

Park wins a corner wide on the right.

62. 59'

Macheda is getting stripped on the bench.

63. 60'

A bit of a melee in the box as Park got to the byline, Robinson smashed his clearance against Ricketts but United have a corner.

64. 61'

Macheda on - and get this - Rooney off.

65. 62'

Drogba yesterday, now Rooney. What is happening this weekend?

66. 63'

A good opening for Berbatov as he receives a pass from Macheda and forces Jaaskelainen into a smart save low down. Corner.

67. 64'

Muamba is coming off for Bolton and Mark Davies is coming on.

68. 65'

O'Shea crosses and Steinsson is free at the back post but chooses to concede a corner.

69. 67'

GOAL Petrov scores! He cuts inside and shoots right footed, the ball nicks off Fletcher and Bolton are back in front!

70. 68'

Well, well. United have been dodgy at the back all game and now they are behind. Just over 20 minutes left to rescue the situation.

71. 69'

A sign of desperation as Owen strips off on the bench. United pressing hard now.

72. 70'

That goal has injected a bit of life into Bolton's fans. They have to hold firm now because they know the onslaught is coming.

73. 71'

Fletcher comes off and Owen comes on. Rooney has ice on his left ankle while Giggs has ice on his hamstring. They are dropping like flies.

74. 72'

The last time Arsenal, Chelsea and Man Utd lost on the same weekend was March 1995.

75. 73'

What a chance to seal the game! Elmander works a brilliant chance for himself as he rounds Vidic but then he blazes over from 16 yards with only VDS to beat. Great work until the finish.

76. 74'

GOAL Owen flicks a header into the net! He's still got it!

77. 75'

Phil Dowd gets his yellow out for the first time and no surprise that Scholes gets it for a late lunge on Davies.

78. 76'

Awful touch from Owen who can't find Scholes then gives away a free kick. The game is wide open now.

79. 77'

Great ball from scholes wide to Nani who cuts inside Lee and fires a shot wide of ther far post.

80. 78'

Elmander tries to find Holden in the box but though he takes a swipe, O'Shea had it covered.

81. 80'

Mark Davies gets a yellow for a tackle from behind on Park.

82. 81'

Scholes gets his first shooting opportunity but fires over the bar from 20 yards. A good hit but always rising.

83. 82'

Owen's cross finds Scholes and he tries to flick the ball to Evra but Knight is there. Now United win a corner.

84. 83'

Vidic charges in on Elmander and will get a deserved booking.

85. 84'

Kevin Davies is penalised for backing into Evans. Six of one, half a dozen of the other really, but the ref was never going to give a pen.

86. 85'

Another chance for Elmander as he runs past Vidic but his effort was always spinning away from goal. A decent chance.

87. 86'

Nani's cross is poor and Jaaskelainen claims. There could still be a winner at either end here.

88. 87'

Petrov fires wide from a free kick 30 yards out.

89. 88'

Am excellent clearance from Park as a ball came into United's box, now Bolton win a corner.

90. 89'

Davies rises well to nod the corner but Park clears in the melee.

91. 90'

Three minutes added as O'Shea gets in a mess.

92. 91'

Perhaps a final chance for Elmander as he can't connect with a shot after Davies' flick on.

93. 92'

Matt Taylor comes on for Petrov, who has had a good game.

94. 93'

Another time wasting substitution as Robbie Blake comes on for Lee.

95. 93'

Evra is fouled on the left and a final chance for United to pinch it.

96. 94'

FULL TIME Nani's free kick was poor and that is that. A good game and Bolton giving as good as they got. United leaky at the back and rescued by Owen's goal. Fergie looks distinctly unhappy, as per usual, but he can't argue Bolton didn't deserve it.
