Barcelona – Real Madrid

Hello all and welcome along to the second leg of the Spanish Supercup between Barca and Real Madrid.

Barca: Valdes, Alves, Mascherano, Pique, Abidal, Xavi, Busquets, Iniesta, Pedro, Messi and Villa. Cesc Fabregas starts on the bench. It's the same team that started in the UCL final back in May.

Real Madrid: Casillas, Ramos, Pepe, Carvalho, Coentrao, Alonso, Khedira, Di María, Ozil, Ronaldo and Benzema.

Right, here we go, part II...

<b>KICK OFF</b>

A reminder that away goals do count tonight so the only way it can go to extra time if if the full time score is 2-2.

Valdes is forced to make a save from Ronaldo as Real come out of the blocks very sharply.

A brilliant run from Di Maria but his ball to Benzema was too strong.

Busquets hits the deck after a bump from a white shirt but no foul given. Fearsome pace to the game so far.

Ronaldo is cheered from the rafters as he blasts a shot miles over the bar.

A frantic start to the game - as scrappy as you'll see these two play so far.

A couple of meaty challenges from Villa and Khedira. The ref doesn't blow. Good.

Calm is restored somewhat, but still an even game.

Di Maria is looking especially sharp, almost Messi-like the way he is jinking past defenders.

Excellent work from Ronaldo, who gets past Alves and crosses but Benzema hadn't gambled on getting into the six-yard box. A tap in was his if he had.

Real the better team so far, just like this stage at the first leg.

But now Barca open up and Pedro's cross is hacked away by Caillas before Messi can get there.

Good pressing in the centre of the park from Benzema and Alonso as Busquets is closed down immediately.

A glorious ball from Messi finds Iniesta streaking through and he dinks the ball over Casillas to give Barca a 3-2 aggregate lead.

Real started the better but find themselves behind.

How will Real respond to going behind?

Villa is flagged offside but won't give the ball back which offends Ramos. The ref intervenes.

Incredible passage of play! Di Maria dinks the ball over the top, Valdes misses it and Khedira tries to square it for Benzema, but the ball is too quick and he squirms it behind. Corner.

Benzema fires the ball into the box as the corner goes long and Ronaldo touches it home. 1-1!

Barca go straight back down the other end and Casillas palms a flashing drive from Pedro over the bar.

Football is brilliant when it's like this isn't it?

Very nearly an opening for Benzema but Valdes races out to hack clear.

Nice work from Benzema, who works a shooting opporunity for himself but busts the ball into the side-netting from the edge of the box.

Ronaldo hits the bar! A fierce effort is parried by Valdes and it cannons back off the woodwork.

Ozil is onside as the ball is poked through to him and Valdes again comes to Barca's rescue. Corner.

The corner comes long to Benzema again and from around the same position as he set up the equaliser, he drags this shot wide.

Iniesta is late this time on Di Maria, who makes the most of it, but there is no card. Jose will not be happy.

A good tackle from Alves stops Ronaldo in full flow.

Great run from Messi but a slightly overhit final ball to the onrushing Xavi.

Another cracking challenge on Ronaldo from Alves sets off a counter and from it Messi works a shooting chance but Casillas saves with his legs.

Superb tackle from Pepe as Barca try some intricate tiki taka on the edge of the box. Pique fed Iniesta and the defender slid in to claim and clear.

Khedira needs to be careful as he upends Iniesta this time.

Mascherano this time prevents Ronaldo getting into the area. Great tackle.

Pedro wins a corner from Ramos.

Pique's back-heel inside the area returned the ball to his feet and he clips the ball over Casillas. That was class.

<b>HALF TIME</b> That really was high class. A one-two inside a crowded penalty area, a fantastic finish and advantage Barcelona at the interval.

That was a glorious 45 minutes of football that went by in a flash. Real Madrid are very, very good but even they can't live with Barca when they have one of their spurts of genius. The second half should be just as good.

It was Khedira who has gone off not Coentrao - probably sensible, given he was on a yellow and still charging about.

An awful free kick from Xabi Alonso - far too deep for anyone.

A slovenly start to the half, enlivened by a rushed Valdes clearance under pressure from Benzema.

First opening for Barca but Villa's shot is blocked by Pepe.

Ronaldo cuts inside now and fires on goal from an acute angle but Valdes is right behind it.

Messi is down after a cheeky kick from Marcelo as he jumped to head a ball. Naughty.

Marcelo nearly squeezes a lovely ball through to Benzema but Pique gets a foot to it.

Fabregas warms up to applause from the crowd as Ramos flashes a volley over after neat aerial control.

Messi is getting a little wound up, as a result of that MArcelo kick.

The game hasn't got anywhere near the same level of quality or pace as the first half. It's gone scrappy.

Messi swings in the free kick but Villa's header loops over the bar.

A great tackle from Alonso allows Higuain to release Benzema but his plan to cut inside and shoot is thwarted by Abidal.

A superb run from Iniesta, w powerful low shot from Messi and a good save from Casillas.

From the corner Busquets nods a free header clean over the bar. What a chance. Pique is down holding his face because he got an arm in it from Pepe.

Good work down the left from Benzema to release Marcelo but Pique clears his cross at the near post.

Pepe wasn't pulling out of that tackle as he hoofs the ball out for a goal kick.

Just prior to that Ronaldo was felled as he hit the turf Busquets tried to kick the loose ball at him but missed.

What a chance for Ramos. A free header, seven yards out and he's put it wide. Oh my.

Activity on the Barca bench but it looks like Adriano not Fabregas.

A good interception from Mascherano as Ronaldo chases a ball over the top.

A quarter of an hour for Real to force this into extra time.

It's getting a bit fruity this. Both sides waving cards and imploring action from the ref.

Pedro is down holding his arm. Cesc continues to warm up.

Pedro fell awkwardly under a Macrelo barge and is getting treatment off the pitch.

Kaka bursts - well, lumbers - down the left and wins a corner.

The corner was shanked at the near post, and pinged round the box before Benzema gets a cushioned touch on it to guide it into the corner.

Fabregas is blocked off a lovely dink from Iniesta by Pique! That could have been a dream introduction.

Fabregas looks at home already, spraying passes around from central midfield.

A great move too, Fabregas to Messi, he touches to Adriano who crosses and Messi lashes it home on the volley. Brilliant.

A goal worthy of winning any game. One minute plus stoppage time left for Real.

Lovely move again as Fabregas plays Messi through but Casillas saves well with his legs.

Four minutes added....

Fabregas is having a lovely cameo here, he nearly gets another chance to score as Iniesta slides a pass through but it is too strong.

Valdes comes out to claim a deep cross and we have one more minute to go.

Just when we thought we'd get through a Clasico without some handbags it has all kicked off.

Villa involved, Higuain involved, Ozil incensed. The last thing we needed.

Ozil is very upset about something and the ref showed a red card towards the Barca bench too. No idea who at. The original tackle from Marcelo on Fabregas was dreadful.

Mourinho went and tugged the ear of a Barca staff member as the melee kicked off and got a shove for his trouble. Why on earth would he do that? He should be setting the example. Pathetic.

Finally, the game restarts.

<b>FULL TIME</b> The game is over and Barca have won the Spanish Super Cup.

A big Barca huddle as they confirm their first piece of silverware. A great first half, a disappointing second and an useemly melee right at the end. Mourinho poked that chap's eye on second look.
