1. Join us at 1245 GMT to see if Robert Pires can upset his old side as Villa take on Arsenal.

3. The big team news is, of course, that Robert Pires starts against his old club. 37 years old now!

4. John Carew is fit to play up front and will hope to have similar success to his time at Valencia.

5. Arsenal have Jack Wilshere and Thomas Rosicky in midfield, with Arshavin and Nasri in attack with Chamakh.

6. Pires goes down the line of Arsenal players in the tunnel and shakes everybody's hand. A few kisses too, as is the Gallic way.

   Chamakh nearly scores inside 15 seconds! Warnock gives the ball away, Arshavin turns it into the box and Friedel comes out to save from the striker.

   Now Nasri gets in down the right side and Warnock redeems himself with a good block on the attempted cross.

    Now Rosicky goes close with an angled drive after Wilshere's lay off. Its all Arsenal.

    Carew looks very isolated up front on his own so far. Villa can't get hold of the ball.

    Sagna's cross from the right is met by Chamakh but the ball then flicks off Luke Young and Arsenal have a throw on the left.

    Oh dear it should be two! Arsenal get hold of the ball, Nasri springs the offside trap and rounds Friedel but off balance, hits his shot into the side netting, That should have been game over!

    Villa are all over the place at the back. Dunne and Collins showed Arshavin inside and allowed him to get a shot off for the goal, then Warnock gambled on an offside call and allowed Nasri in.

    Houllier needs to do something at half time because this could turn into a rout if Villa continue to be so submissive.

    What a save! Incredible point blank stop from Friedel as Chamakh meets Sagna's cross from six yards but is denied by a superb reflex save.

     <b>FULL TIME</b> Arsenal deservedly win and they go top of the table, for a few hours at least. They always looked menacing, while Villa paid for a miserable first half display. Four good goals and three good points.
