5. A huge boost for Spurs is the availability of Emmanuel Adebayor, who passed a fitness test to face his former club. King and Modric also start from the off in a strong-looking Tottenham starting XI.

6. For Arsenal, Wenger has handed Benayoun a chance to shine, but there is no place in the starting line-up for teenager Chamberlain.

7. Today is also a big day for Theo Walcott, who has disappointed of late and subsequently come in for a lot of criticism. He must deliver.

    Szczesny comes to claim a free-kick given for a foul on Bale, but he is beaten to the ball. Luckily the header is not goalbound and the keeper escapes.

    Spurs get a couple of dangerous balls into the box and win a dangerous free-kick. Taken quickly with Arsenal sleeping, but Koscielny at least was available to intercept the cross.

    Chance for Arsenal! Van Persie drags a great chance wide with his right-foot from eight yards. Has to hit the target, but miscues.

    Walcott looks to have found space down the right, but a slip gives the ball straight to Assou-Ekotto.

    Some positive signs for Arsenal fans. The game is wide open, with both teams able to attack.

    Adebayor and Saha doing well to pressure the Arsenal defence. This time it is Alex Song who has to be quick to avoid catastrophe.

    That said, they are getting little joy in attack now. With Koscielny and Vermaelen strong in the air to cut out the long-balls.
