4. Bit of team news, interesting to see Cudicini dropped for Spurs. Gomes comes in. And it's 4-4-2 for Redknapp's men as well with Bent and Keane up front. Zokora is at right back.

   A nice build-up from Spurs allows Palacios room for a shot but it is deflected off Knight and rolls into the arms of Friedel.

6. Curtis Davies has been dropped for Villa, but Emile Heskey comes in. Looks like Villa have a fill-in right back as well with Reo-Coker playing there.

8. Villa really need the win to cement their aspirations of European football as Arsenal have taken fourth place off them. Spurs really just need the win.

    Super goal, if a little scrappy at the end. Modric spreads it wide and Lennon whips in a devilish cross. When Friedel could only parry it, Jenas nods into an empty net.

    Well, what a start for Spurs. They've already looked confident in possesion and credit has to go to Lennon for a wicked ball in. Wicked as in hard to defend, not, like, wicked man.

    More pressing from Spurs as King finds Bent and he looks like he could be in. Instead he turns, finds Modric and he can't quite get a shot off. Villa are ragged.

    A decent reposte from Petrov who nips past Palacios and unleashes a venomous shot, but it was always spinning wide.

    Good work from Young running at Zokora and whipping in a ball that Woodgate clears behind for a corner, which Gomes claims easily.

    News is emerging of Deco's hamstring injury - he's out for the season apparently.

    Villa are coming back into it now as Young skips along the byline and crosses but Barry's shot is saved by Gomes.

    It's been a cracking start to the game! As soon as Spurs broke up that attack Lennon came bursting forward and only a great sliding challenge fgrom Barry brought the counter attack to an end.

    Now there are shouts for a penalty as Barry went down under a challenge from Jenas. It was clumsy but probably not a pen.

    Wow! This is end to end stuff! Keane clips a lovely ball over the top for Bent who cuts in beautifully and prepares to shoot before Reo-Coker gets a foot in. Then Jenas has his shot blocked.

    The game is just starting to settle down after a breathless opening..

    Zokora gets a yellow card for a nasty looking challenge on Young. The ball was high and they both went for it but the Villa man nicked the ball away first.

    Two excellent crosses come in from Barry and Young but Woodgate nods away both. Then Young wins a free kick off Palacios in a good position.

    The free-kick goes into a bunch of bodies and Spurs clear. Villa not making the most of their set pieces so far.

    Cuellar gets a vital foot in as Spurs broke downfield again. Modric came away with it and Lennon sprinted up in support.

    Ashley Young is giving Zokora a torrid time. He megged the right back and got round the back again but couldn't pick out a team mate.

    Another chance for Spurs after Cuellar commits to a header he was never going to win. Bent flashes a ball across the six-yard line and Knight gets a vital touch behind for a corner.

    More joy for Spurs down the right as Jenas plays a ball inside for Modric, who opts to shoot rather than cross and Friedel saves smartly.

    Agbonlahor gets a low cross in and Heskey tees up Petrov but the ball was on him quite quickly and he can only manage a tame shot right at Gomes.

    Heskey hits the bar! A brilliant volleyed ball in from Barry, Heskey beats King in the air and the ball cannons back off the angle of post and bar. The Luke Young hits a shot just wide.

    Villa win a free kick early and Zat Knight tries to get on the end of it but Corluka nods behind for a corner. Woodgate gets a great head on it and Villa have another one.

    Woodgate gets in well and dispossesses Carew. He didn't get much of chance with the goal but has been superb apart from that.

    It's all getting a bit fraught for Spurs at the back and they can't seem to keep hold of the ball.
