Afternoon all and welcome to a rainy London, where Chelsea and Everton are preparing to face off just a mile or so from <i>Soccernet</i> towers.

Chelsea: Cech, Ferreira, Ivanovic, Terry, Cole, Ramires, Mikel, Lampard, Kalou, Drogba, Malouda. Subs: Turnbull, Essien, Zhirkov, Bertrand, Anelka, McEachran, Sala.

Everton: Howard, Neville, Jagielka, Distin, Baines, Coleman, Arteta, Fellaini, Osman, Cahill, Beckford. Subs: Mucha, Hibbert, Heitinga, Bilyaletdinov, Anichebe, Duffy, Baxter.

Torres is cup-tied so Drogba starts for Chelsea, Essien drops to the bench and Kalou is in.

Osman and Beckford come in for Everton, who were a shambles in their defeat at Bolton. David Moyes was far from happy. We should see a reaction today.

Here come the teams to a lively welcome...

<b>KICK OFF</b>

Osman fires a ball across the box then as Everton rebuild he has a pop on goal but Cech is right behind it.

Chelsea can't get a kick at the minute, its all Everton.

A good interception from Mikel as Everton launch another attack.

The conditions aren't helping - the pitch is sodden, making control and accurate passing difficult.

Beckford charges in behind Ivanovic but Terry clears him out with a well timed sliding tackle.

Arteta is lucky to get away with hauling down Mikel. Foul given but no cards.

Lampard is playing up top with Drogba but not having much influence so far.

Good even contest so far. Here comes Coleman but his cross is right at Cech.

Drogba is down clutching his knee and rolling around. Lampard got crunched by Osman too but it was a fair tackle.

Drogba is hobbling off. I'm sure he'll be back in a minute.

Chelsea down to ten as Drogba winces in pain. Anelka is warming up but the Drog is preparing to come back on.

Dangerous ball in from Baines and Coleman heads across the area but none of the three white shirts can connect before Osman concedes a free kick.

Drogba is back on now but he doesn't look happy.

Cole buys a free kick by throwing himself to the ground as Coleman came to try and pinch the ball.

Off the post! Jagielka tries to clear but his flick flies past Howard and back off the upright. Terry following up blazes over.

Good harrying from Everton, who are charging into Chelsea whenever they get the ball.

Another dangerous ball from Baines but Beckford can't connect at the near post.

Drogba seems to have recovered as he spins on a pass and tries to find Kalou.

Superb work from Cahill, sliding in on Malouda and Everton break, Coleman's weak shot flies off Terry for a corner.

Chelsea break downfield from Everton's corner and Kalou gets to the byline, Lampard looks like he has a tap in but then Fellaini hassles him into passing to Malouda and his shot is blocked by Howard's legs.

Cahill is penalised for a tackle from behind on Mikel. Dowd has a word but doesn't produce a card.

Kalou spins into the box and crosses into the side-netting.

Drogba seems to be fine after charging into a tackle then Beckford is slipped in by Arteta but wastes a good chance to shoot.

Malouda is off the field trying to remove his wedding ring. It has taken a full two minutes to get it off. Ahh, he's back on now.

And he very nearly scores on his return! Superb from Drogba as he turns Jagielka and slips Malouda in but Howard comes out and makes a good save. Corner.

Drogba wastes a chance to take on Phil Neville.

The game is hotting up after some decent challenges go flying in.

Everton playing the role of the home side here.

A rare disappointing cross from Baines, who has been the chief supply line so far.

Drogba spins inside and hit a shot over the bar with the help of a deflection. Torres is in the stands watching.

Fellaini robs Ramires and crosses but Terry blocks Beckford's shot. Everton pushing hard...

Ancelotti laughs as Drogba is whistled for a foul, shouting at the ref that he got the ball.

Looking at the replay there may have been a bit of contact, but not enought to warrant Ramires' dive. Stay on yer feet, lad.

<b>HALF TIME</b> Boos at half time from the home crowd but more for the ref probably. Everton bossed that opening 45 minutes and should be in front. Good game.

An early free kick for Chelsea. Drogba over it.

Its an excellent delivery, one of those that goalkeepers hate as a crowd of bosdies rush in front of it. No-one gets a touch and Howard saves low down.

As my colleague Tom Adams has rightly pointed out, we're in for extra time and penalties if this isn't settled here.

Lampard gets into the area and wins a corner, from it Drogba's near post shot is blocked.

Baines is disgusted that Chelsea have won a corner. Drogba was all over him and looked like he got the final touch.

Drogba pulls it back towards the penalty spot where Lampard is free but his header is miles wide. Good opportunity.

Backford wins a free kick off Ivanovic after a nudge in the back.

Baines' free kick is glanced on by Osman but his header is right at Cech. A yard either side would have been interesting.

Another chance for Everton as Arteta robs Lampard and crosses but Beckford was off balance and skies his volley.

A bit of panic from Distin as he slices a cross and gives Chelsea a corner.

What a waste from Coleman. He has acres of space on the right and men in the box but he delays and delays and then Beckford is penalised for bundling over Ivanovic.

Best chance of the game by far as Ramires finds Cole and his cross is met by Lampard eight yards out but Howard saves his shot. Then Ivanovic's shot is cleared off the line!

Now Ramires sends a low skidder just wide of the far post.

Cahill takes a knock but he's up again, no fuss.

Decent move from Chelsea as Kalou breaks and feeds Ramires but Lampard flicks his header well wide.

Everton building patiently but Fellaini's shot is blocked.

Bilyaletdinov's cross is met by Coleman at the far post but it is right at Cech and not especially powerful.

Neither manager will want extra time I'm sure. Will we get a winner?

Chelsea dominating now.

Drogba crosses and at the back post is John Terry of all people, but he fails to shoot! He controls, then crosses and it is cleared. He had to shoot!

Drogba tees up Lampard this time but his powerful shot is well wide.

Jagielka is struggling now and needs treatment. It was a stray arm from Drogba, no intent there though.

Jagielka wants Drogba booked for the arm as a little bump appears below his right eye.

Bilyaletdinov smashes an excellent ball across and Anichebe nearly scores with his first touch!

What a mess Chelsea made of that! Lampard slips Malouda in and he neglects to shoot as the keeper comes out, turns, hands it back to Lampard and he tries an outrageously ambitious chip from 16 yards that goes flying over the bar. Chelsea trying to walk it in like Arsenal.

Essien tries his luck but skews it well wide and hits a steward on the behind.

Extra time is looming large....

Some neat juggling from Drogba hands Chelsea a corner but Everton defend it well.

Everton are sinking deeper and deeper here and Chelsea are piling on the pressure. Neville blocks Terry's shot.

Anichebe does well as he gets down the line and is bundled over by Ivanovic.

The ball is in the net but the flag is up as Baines' shot was parried and Fellaini finished it off. He was too, just.

More good work from Everton as Baines crosses low and Osman slides it but can't get anything on it. Three added minutes....

a wasted Chelsea free kick. Drogba complains Jagielka elbowed his back. Get on with it Drog.

Anichebe wins a corner off Essien.

<b>FULL TIME</b> Chelsea clear the corner and we are going into extra time.

<b>KICK OFF</b> So, 15 minutes each way.

The players must be feeling a touch heavy-legged playing a full 90 on a sodden pitch like this.

Hardly what Chelsea need ahead of their Champions League tie with FC Copenhagen in midweek.

Lampard swings in a free kick and Ivanovic can't get his header on target.

Baines goes down in the box but gets up straight away and runs away fro Dowd before he gets a card.

Drogba, from a standing start, tries to curl one in the top corner but gets it all wrong.

The game is lacking the pace of the last 15 minutes of normal time.

Everton work a shooting opportunity for a shot but it is well blocked then Jagielka stands up well as Drogba gets in the box and wins a corner.

Kalou feeds Anelka but his cross is turned behind for a corner, as it breaks Lampard fires a left footed shot wide of the far post.

Everton look like they are suffering from tiredness a little more than Chelsea here.

A cross from the right drops off Drogba's chest and Lampard fires it home from eight yards out. Never in doubt.

Now Ramires tries his luck from distance but Howard gets down to save.

<b>HT in ET</b> Baines fires in a cross, no-one gets a touch and it trails wide of Cech's far post. And that's half time in extra time. Everton have 15 minutes left to rescue the match.

We begin again. Reading await for Chelsea, unless Everton can score in the next 15 minutes...

Very nearly a second for Chelsea as Kalou's flick finds Ivanovic bursting through but he can't collect it and shoot.

Drogba, in the absence of other options, has a pop. It goes wide.

Neville centres and Bilyaletdinov's header loops into Cech's arms.
