Fulham – Manchester United

1. Afternoon everyone and welcome to live coverage of Manchester United's trip to Fulham. Newcastle has just smashed Aston Villa 6-0 - let's hope for more goals at Craven Cottage.

4. Manchester United opened with a very comfortable win over Newcastle - inspired by Paul Scholes - while Fulham got a creditable draw at Bolton.

5. Wayne Rooney is ill, so Javier Hernandez gets his first league start alongside the revitalised Dimitar Berbatov. Expect Scholes to have much less space here than he did on Monday night.

   Davies gets down the right and crosses but Vidic cuts the ball out.

   Pantsil is clipped by Park. Just a word from the ref, nothing more.

   A decent opening for Davies but he chooses the wrong ball and sends Zamora wider than he wanted to go.

    Hughes cuts out Fletcher's ball over the top as Hernandez made a dash.

    Valencia races inside and looks for a back heel to Scholes but it was a little elaborate.

    A lovely move from United as Park and Berbatov swapped passes. Park shoots but it deflects behind for a corner.

    Superb save from Stockdale as Berbatov volleyed on goal from six yards. Before that Hernandez fluffed not one but two chances.

    United get their reward for a good spell of pressure and Scholes continues his excellent form.

    A warning for the visitors though as Zamora finds Davies and he fires a volley narrowly wide of the post.

    Hernandez backs into Hangeland and Fulham have a free kick.

    Hernandez ends a lovely passing move with a shot but his effort lacked power and dribbled wide.

    Dempsey gets a shot off from 30 yards but Van der Sar snaffles it comfortably.

    Fletcher looks for Berbatov but overhits the pass.

    Davies tries a very ambitious ball for Dempsey, who had sneaked into the area but he gets too much on it.

    A good header from Evans prevents Davies from finding Zamora in the area.

    Hughes gives the ball away and Fletcher finds Berbatov; his strike is parried by Stockdale. Corner.

    Valencia pounces on a sloppy Murphy touch before Hernandez tries another shot. Hughes blocks.

    Konchesky crosses from the left side and Zamora gets up but he glances his header wide when he really should have done better.

    It's a case of nearly but not quite for Hernandez at the moment. His touch let him down there as he got to the box edge.

    Murphy works a little space for a shot but gets it horribly wrong, to the delight of the away fans, given his Liverpool past.

    Hernandez does well to find Berbatov but again, Stockdale is right behind his powerful drive.

    Zamora takes the ball well on his chest and falls when Evra came his way but he didn't appeal for a penalty, rightly.

    Scholes again pulling the strings as he crosses for Berbatov, who heads over from 12 yards.

    What a double save from Van der Sar! Etuhu gets into the area and the 'keeper saves his first shot low down, then sits up to tip Etuhu's second effort over the bar. Great stuff.

    It's a good, open game this, as Park's ball is met by Stockdale at his near stick.

    Konchesky crosses for Zamora but his header across goal is met by Scholes, who directs the ball back to Van der Sar.

    Dempsey wins a corner inside the area, as Fulham look to hit back.

    Etuhu meets Konchesky's cross but nods it over the bar.

    Oh dear Berbatov. That was like the Bulgarian of last season as Valencia fed him just inside the area and he totally missed his kick. Poor.

    Murphy clatters into Scholes as he receives a short Fletcher pass but the ref seems to think he won the ball. He got nowhere near it.

    Hangeland concedes a free kick after sliding in on Hernandez.

    Evans stays forward after the free kick is cleared and meets Fletcher's cross but his header is right at Stockdale.

    That should have read Evans stays forward - it would have been some feat for Fletcher to meet his own cross....

    Vidic gets a little lucky after presenting the ball to Etuhu, but Dempsey blasts over after working a sliver of space.

    Vidic nods the ball and then goes down. Maybe a neck muscle, or a trapped nerve perhaps. He looks alright to continue.

    <b>HALF TIME</b> A good 45 minutes of football and at the break it is the wily Paul Scholes who has given Manchester United the lead.

    Park very nearly slots a pass into Berbatov but Hughes is alert to the situation.

    A good start from the visitors, as Fulham struggle to get hold of the ball.

    O'Shea returns a Konchesky clearance looking for Valencia and Hangeland concedes a needless throw in when the ball was a metre from running out of play.

    Another chance for Scholes as Valencia's cross drops in the area but Etuhu got a vital block in. Fulham head down the other end and Davies wins a corner.

    Duff works space to cross from the right and Hughes has a free header but times his jump wrong.

    A poor ball from ZAmora means Duff is chasing Evans and not the other way round but FUlham still win the corner.

    It's not quite happening for Fulham yet, but they are still well in this game.

    Zamora is now felled by Scholes and Fulham have a good opportunity from 25 yards out.

    Zamora hits the wall first time round, then the crowd with his follow up volley.

    A super goal from Fulham, but Evra will be disappointed to be turned so easily by Duff. Credit to Zamora too for an excellent pull back.

    Scholes is on the edge of the box but goes down easily as he loses control of possession when presented with Hangeland. In fairness, Scholes didn't appeal.

    Hernandez with a decent chance but he blasts over with his head up.

    A good chance to break for Fulham as Davies goes clear but his eventual cross is nowhere near Dembele or Zamora.

    Dembele is howling for a penalty there as Etuhu's cross came in. Evans had a grip of his shirt and that is a big let off for the visitors.

    Berbatov meets Evra's cross but it drops over the bar. It was Vidic who challenged Dembele, and it was a blatant penalty. The Serbian had a big handful of the striker's shirt.

    The game is nicely poised as we enter the final stage. Looks like Nani is coming on.

    What a chance! Konchesky's diagonal ball finds Zamora and his right footed volley beats VDS but trickles wide of the far post.

    <b>PENALTY TO MAN UTD</b> That is so harsh. Duff knees the ball into his hand and the ref points to the spot. I ask you. That's ridiculous.

    <b>STOCKDALE SAVES!</b> A great stop, but a poor spot kick from Nani.

    Now the referee gets in the way of Dembele as he goes for the ball. The home fans are not happy, and they have every right not to be.

    Dembele's cross hits O'Shea and the crowd scream for a penalty but the ball clearly hit his thigh.

    Vidic lost his man, and Van der Sar can't get enough on it and Hangeland has cancelled out his own goal of five minutes previously. It's no more than Fulham deserve.

    Pantsil's cross is poor as Fulham embarked on a counter attack but that's a disappointing end to it. Corner for Man Utd.

    <b>FULL TIME</b> A very entertaining game and Fulham get the point they deserve in a breathless finish. Hangeland gains redemption and Manchester United have dropped points on Chelsea already.
