Arsenal – Manchester United

1. Welcome to a match that is always big regardless of when it takes place. Manchester United travel to the Emirates Stadium to take on Arsenal.

2. No Cesc Fabregas for Arsenal. He misses out with Robin van Persie taking over as captain.

3. United rest Ryan Giggs, with Michael Carrick and Anderson paired in midfield. Nani comes in for Antonio Valencia and Javier Hernandez and Wayne Rooney continue up front.

   Arsenal's title ambitions might have been derailed recently, but they can give Chelsea a huge lift with victory today.

   An early sight of goal for Jack Wilshere after some excellent approach play. Theo Walcott's cross causes chaos and falls to Wilshere, who drags a left-footed shot wide with Rio Ferdinand closing him down.

   Free kick to United, Aaron Ramsey tripping Anderson in the centre circle.

   Nani with an ambitious effort after cutting inside Gael Clichy. His drive from the corner of the box is high and wide.

   Arsenal are seeing plenty of possession, as you would expect. United are defending well though.

    Van Persie attempts a header on goal from Samir Nasri's cross which loops well over the crossbar.

    A positive start from Arsenal. Clichy breaks down the left and whips in a good low cross for Walcott to side-foot over the bar.

    Wayne Rooney sprays a long ball upfield with Javier Hernandez making a break. The Mexican is halted by an offside flag.

    The short corner is a waste and Nani eventually brings the ball clear for United.

    A vital interception from Evra! Wilshere with an excellent burst into the United box, his low cross looks for Walcott who would've had a tap in, but Evra concedes the corner!

    A poor corner from Arsenal, who really have very little aerial presence in their team.

    Clichy feeds Nasri down the left, but the winger is offside.

    The tempo of the match has tailed off since Arsenal's bright start.

    Wilshere goes down on the edge of the area after being released by Nasri. The England midfielder was never going to get to the loose ball, but he was certainly hauled down by Vidic.

    Wilshere finding plenty of space, but as he tries to attack he gifts possession to Fabio.

    Fabio involved again, this time at the other end! He walks into the Arsenal penalty area with alarming ease, and as he looks for Hernandez, Arsenal are able to clear for a corner.

    The corner breaks for Park, who sees his shot well charged down.

    United enjoying a little more possession. Anderson attempts to play in Park, but his pass is poor and runs through to Szczesny.

    Arsenal's attack breaks down as Clichy plays a harmless long ball into the arms of Van der Sar.

    25 minutes gone and it's still goalless. Who can make the breakthrough?

    Wonderful play from Ramsey and the Welshman plays in Sagna, who is in an excellent position to cross. Sagna scuffs his attempt pathetically and the chance has gone.

    Arsenal attempting to play very intricate football and it's getting very congested on the edge of the United penalty area. You sense the home team might be running out of ideas.

    Fantastic defending from Vidic, or was it? Walcott whips in a devilish delivery which Van Persie looks set to nod home. Vidic clears, but on second viewing it was clearly with his hand!

    United defend the corner and have they have got away with it. That was a definite handball and should have been a penalty to Arsenal.

    Fabio with a lung-busting burst forward, Koscielny is across well to put the ball into touch.

    A weekend of controversy seems to be ending with a doozy. That was a stone-wall penalty and not many on the pitch seem to have noticed it.

    Of the two teams, United will be the happier to get to the break goalless. But Arsenal have been OK, and will hope for a little extra in the second half.
