Arsenal's hopes of ending Chelsea's FA Cup dream for the fourth successive season have been hampered by the loss of striker Thierry Henry with a bruised foot. However, Dennis Bergkamp has recovered from a calf problem and replaced the Frenchman. And Sol Campbell passed a late fitness test to take his place in the defence

Chelsea welcome back goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini from a groin injury, while Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink is preferred in attack to Eidur Gudjohnsen

Arsenal kick-off with Reyes and Bergkamp

Vieira is fouled by Mutu after five seconds

It's a tentative start from the two sides

Melchiot's long throw is poorly puched away by Lehmann, only as far as Pafrker, who lofts it back into the area - Hasselbaink can't conrtol

Mutu is held off by Toure, and that's a free-kick on the left flank. A chance here for the Blues

Mutu swings it in, but it's far too low and easy for the Arsenal defence to clear

Pires tries to put Bergkamp through - Melchiot shows his strength to hold off the Dutchman

Parker is caught very late by Campbell, he'll enter the book for that. And it creates a chance 30 yards out for Chelsea

The free-kick is in a central position. Lampard and Hasselbaink stand over it, the former taps to the later - but Hasselbaink only hits Toure

Now Reyes brings down Bridge on the left, Arsenal penalised again. Mutu takes, Gallas wins it at the near post and he heads wide of the post

Pires brilliantly picks out the run of Bergkamp, his control just lets him down but Melchiot puts it behind for a corner. Pires delivers, but it's far too deep

Parker is taken from behind, this time by Vieira, this time there's no card. It's 35 yards out

Mutu plays it in, and again gets it wrong - not enough height and the ball is cleared

Now Hasselbaink is fouled, by Vieira, the Gunners are rattled and are losing their composure. Hasselbaink plays it in and eventually it's cleared

Arsenal break. A sublime ball from Bergkamp finds Gilberto. He finds Pires and then receives the return ball, finding himself clear on goal, but a superb tackle from Terry, running back from the set-piece, ends the danger

Straight up the other end now. Mutut gets it on the left and finds Gallas ten yards out - his snap shot is pushed round the post by Lehmann

Arsenal deal with the corner. It's a great tie. End to end, but the visitors just have the egde

Toure shows clever defending to bring a foul out of Mutu on the edge of his own area

Melchiot is chopped down by Parker and he becomes the first Chelsea player to enter the book. Pires made the most of it

Pires puts Reyes through, Cudicini comes out but it's Gallas who knocks it behind

Pires takes from the left, Gronkjaer (!) beats Campbell to the header to clear

Gilberto unleashes a shot from 25-yards - which ends up nearer the corner flag than the goal

Gronjaer attempts to put Mutu through the centre, Campbell comes across to cover and clear

Pires cuts inside and fires one in from just outside the area, straight into the grasp of Cudicini

Makelele blocks Bergkamps and it's a free-kick to Arsenal in a good area on the left. Bergkamp takes, and it poor - no height on the ball

Gilberto plays a neat ball to Bergkamp on the edge of the box, he spots the clever run of Reyes - Cudicini is wise and rushes out to collect ahead of the Spaniard

Arsenal getting on top now, starting to make the home advantage count

Corner to Arsenal. Pires walks over to the left and delivers - Melchiot clears

Mutu is late on Cole, a certain yellow card for the Romanian striker and he'll have to be careful now

Bergkamp, brilliant on the ball today, spots the run of Cole into the box and plays him in, only for Cudicini to make the save with his legs

Now Reyes is brought down, by Lampard, and this game's hotting up. It would comes as no surprise to see a red come full-time

Coel looks for the run of Pires - he overhits it and Cudicini can come out and claim

Makelele goes in the book now for kicking the ball away following a foul by Melchiot

Pires delivers the free-kick into the area, it finds Vieira unmarked on the penalty spot, he mishits the shot and it's ease for Cudicini down to his left

Mutu plays it to Hasselbaink, aided by a mistake from Campbell. Hasselbaink plays the return ball, Mutu lays it off for Lampard - who drags his effort wide of the post

Bridges plays a fine ball to the back stick, Hasselbaink is completely unmarked and looks to put it back into the opposite corner - he gets it all wrong and the Gunners escape

Gilberto is booked, the second Arsenal player, for kicking the ball away

Gronkjaer looks for Hasselbaink, Lehmann comes out and goes down looknig for the foul - corner given, which comes to nothing

It comes to Lampard, he chips it over the top and finds the run of Gronkjaer, who heads into the back of the net

But it's disallowed for offside - but it's a shocking decision. Gronjaek was at least two-yards onside there.

Hasselbaink charged down Toure's clearance, it spins back to Lehmann who slices his attempted hoof but it goes out of play as Hasselbaink closes in

Toure knocks over Gronkjaer, free-kick to Chelsea just outside the box on the left. Mutu plays into the centre and Gilberto heads clear

Now Lauren fells Mutu on the left, another free-kick. It's Mutu again to deliver, he floats it to the near post and it goes straight through to Lehmann. That was a decent ball

Mutu gets the ball in the D, he jinks one way and then the other and gets the space to shoot on his left...

GOAL!!!!!

It was a poor goal-kick from Lehmann, Parker found Mutu and he produced a fine shot to beat the goalkeeper to his left. Advantage Chelsea

Bergkamp shoots straight at Cudicini from 20-yards

Vieira plays it over the top for Bergkamp, Cudicini reads it well and comes out to claim

Pires plays in Cole on the byline, his cut-back it knocked behind by the keeper

Pires delivers from the left, straight into the arms of Cudicini

Two minutes to be added on

Melchiot is brought down by Reyes, and this time it Vieira is booked for dissent

The referee blows for half-time

The game may have been short on goal-mouth action, but it's been exciting and edge-of-the-seat stuff

Chelsea just about deserve to have the lead - and should have two to their name with Gronkjaer's goal wrongly chalked off

Chelsea begin the second period with Hasselbaink and Mutu

Gronkjaer bundles over Parlour, free-kick

Parker turns and is felled by Cole, free-kick 35 yards out. Mutu will loft one into the area, Campbell heads away

Mutu gets forward and plays it right across the face of goal for Hasselbaink. It evades everyone and goes out - but it took a deflection for a corner

Hasselbaink takes from the left but can only find the gloves of Lehmann

Pires looks for Cole on the left, he gets it all wrong and it's a blue throw

Arsenal make their first change as Ray Parlour, who picked up a knock in a challenge with Terry, is replaced by Edu

Pires finds space in the box and shoots first time with his right, but can only find the side netting

It's a scrappy start to the second half, missing the drive of that exciting first period

Gronkjaer tries to find Hasselbaink in the centre, but it's just ahead of the Dutchman

Corner to Arsenal, Edu goes across to the right to take. Campbell goes for it but Terry is strong with the header

Reyes picks it up 10 yards out...

GOAL!!!!!

Reyes produces an oustanding shot to bring Arsenal on level terms. He unleashed a thunderbolt effort with his left foot which flew into the top left-hand corner and gave Cudicini no chance

It's game on at Highbury, Arsenal level out of nothing thanks to the brilliance of their new Spanish starlet. In truth he'd been poor before that - not anymore

Cole goes down with Gallas' challenge - it's a soft one. Bergkamp delivers to the back stick but Campbell can't get much on it

It falls back into the box and Reyes sees two right-footed efforts blocked by defenders. Arsenal rampant now

Lauren comes down the right, he's felled by a two-footed challenge from Hasselbaink - yellow card

Chelsea are forced into a change as Carlo Cudicini has to go off with that groin injury that had troubled him - Neil Sullivan is on

Vieria gets the ball in the centre and sees Reyes completely unmarked in the box...

GOAL!!!!!

Vieira's ball was sublime, Melchiot had lost Reyes and the 20-year-old slotted it past Sullivan with his right-foot. Great goal

Corner to Arsenal now, it's a red tide. It's long but Pires picks it up on the far side. He cuts inside and sees his shot deflected over - but a goal-kick is awarded

Another change for Chelsea, Eidur Gudjohnsen comes on for Adrian Mutu. Chelsea need to do something quickly

Toure brings down Hasselbaink, free-kick to Chelsea and a chance to slow things down

Gronkjaer wins a corner off Lauren. It's Hasselbaink to take from the left, it's worked short and Hasselbaink can then only float it to Lehmann

Reyes is on fire now, twisting and turning against his men. He has his confidence back

Joe Cole comes on for Jesper Gronkjaer

Chelsea look to have weathered that fine ten-minute storm from the Premiership leaders - now they have to find an attacking edge and an equaliser

Vieira gives the ball away to Parker, who in turn fails to find Hasselbaink with the through pass

Parker tries a shot from 25 yards, it hits Joe Cole but deflects to Lehmann's gloves

Joe Cole tries to put Lampard through - poor ball, goal-kick

Vieira plays Bergkamp in through the middle, he just lacks that bit of pace and Sullivan rushes out to collect

Parker crossed from the right, Joe Cole meets it with his head - there's a lack of any real power and it's easy for Lehmann

Vieira tries to put Bergkamp through, but the Dutchman moves just too soon and the offside flag goes up

Lamprd goes down under Campbell's challenge on the edge of the box, no free-kick though

Vieris looks to put Reyes in down the line, Gallas shows his pace to track back

Edu's right-footed shot from 20 yards out is dragged well wide of Sullivan's right-hand post

Arsenal waste a bit of time taking a throw-in, eventually Lauren obliges

Chelsea are struggling to create anything with the seconds ticking away, it looks like Arsenal will progress

A final change for Arsenal, hero Jose Antonio Reyes goes off to a standing ovation to be replaced by defender Gael Clichy

It's all gone very bitty now, Arsenal happy with the scoreline, Chelsea unable to make an impact

Joe Cole does well on the run until he's brought down by Vieira

Bridge puts it into the area, it's missed by everyone - but referee Durkin blows for a foul on Lehmann

Vieira picked up a knock in that move and needs a bit of treatment to a head injury, but he'll be okay to carry on

Gilberto bursts forward down the right and looks for Bergkamp - poor ball, cleared

Arsenal get the throw right in the right-hand corner, and that allows them to waste a few more seconds

Joe Cole and Gilberto get involved, a bit of pushing and shoving, Durkin keeps a close eye but lets the play flow

Four minutes to be added on

Hasselbaink gets a chance to deliver from the left - it's an awful cross at a vital time and Lehmann grasps

Time running out for the Blues - it's not going to happen for them

Bergkamp almost sets Pires through, Bridge gets across

Corner to Chelsea in the dying seconds, Sullivan comes up for it

Hasselbaink takes the corner from the right, it's a poor corner but comes to Parker on the edge of the box, who balloons his shot

It was a breathtaking ten minute spell from Arsenal which heralded the arrival of Jose Antonio Reyes to the English game. He may have flattered to deceive, but he produced it when his side needed it most

Campbell, Vieira and Bergkamp were supreme, and Arsenal thoroughly deserved the victory. Who said they're a one-man team?
