2. Hello all and welcome all to live coverage of the 273rd Milan derby, from the San Siro. It's first versus second, and a win tonight for Milan will take them to within three points of Inter with a game in hand.

3. Inter: Julio César, Walter Samuel, Ferreira Lucio, Esteban Cambiasso, Davide Santon, Maicon, Wesley Sneijder, Sulley Muntar, Javier Zanetti, Diego Milito and Goran Pandev.

   Early pressure from Milan ends when Pirlo loses the ball then Ronaldinho clatters Lucio and is lucky not to get booked.

   What an effort from Sneijder! He lashes a volley goalwards and the ball brushes the outside of the post. Superb.

   Beckham gets the first booking after clattering Cambiasso. Not very clever from Senor Becks.

    Antonini goes off for treatment after a clip on his ankle. He's back on now though..

    Great move from Milan as Antonini and Ronaldinho combine down the left, the full back finds Boriello with his cross but his effort rises high over the bar.

    Beckham swings in his first cross but Cesar claims at the near post.

    Pandev's superb run gets him to the edge of the box and as the ball bounces up Sneijder forces a point blank save from Dida.

    GOAL! Milito!

    An emphatic finish from Milito after poor defending from Abate. He tried to nod Pandev's long ball to Dida but got it wrong and Milito rifles home from inside the box.

    Well, what a start to the match. In truth, Inter deserve their lead. They've probed and pushed and Milan's defence has looked far from solid.

    Muntari shoves Gattuso to the floor and Milan have a free kick as they try to regroup.

    Pirlo hammers it into the wall, who looked suspiciously less than ten yards away from the ball. Then Beckham wins a free kick from Cambiasso.

    Inter break from the free kick and Milito smashes in an effort from a tight angle but Dida was hugging his post and can parry away for a corner.

    Thiago Silva's errant ball puts Milan in danger as Pandev and Milito combine. Abate got there in the nicki of time. How Milan are missing Nesta.

    Ronaldinho moans after the referee denies him a free kick after a little tap from Zanetti. The Brazilian pulls that 'I'm about to cry' face.

    A disappointing ball from Beckham is claimed by Cesar. Nothing is coming off for Milan in the final third at present.

    Terrible football from Ambrosini as Milan load players in the box and he neglects the chance to cross about four times.

    Cambiasso finds Pandev who is standing unmarked three yards from the box but his shot is saved by Dida. Neither of Milan's centre backs seem to want to get tight to him.

    Gattuso redeems himself after losing out to Pandev. Then Abate is clattered by Santon and Milan have a free kick.

    Beckham's free kick is cleared then Pirlo turns it back in but Cesar is there. He launches Inter off on the counter but that breaks down with Sneijder, who looked like he was blocked off by the ref.

    Lucio gets booked for a dive after Ambrosini appeared to clip him and the players are going nuts now.

    RED CARD FOR SNEIJDER

    After Lucio's booking, Sneijder went right up to the referee applauding sarcastically and has been sent off. Surely he should have got a yellow first? Incredible scenes.

    Favalli is the latest to get booked after a tackle on Milito. Its all gone totally bonkers. Sneijder had to be manhandled off the pitch after his red card. Spicy is not the word.

    Well, Inter now have to play an hour with just ten men. Surely, Sneijder must had said something vulgar to the ref. As bad form as sarcastic applause is, does it warrant a straight red?

    Ronaldinho clashes with Samuel on the edge of the box after a nice step inside Lucio but no free kick is given.

    Ronaldinho screams for a pen after the ball brushes Samuel's arm but that was never a pen.

    Boriello barges Lucio and that is a free kick. This referee has been atrocious so far.

    Ronaldinho lofts a ball for Boriello but it was ambitious. He's looking for the killer ball a bit too often in the opening stages.

    Milito gets past Abate but Gattuso helps out, then Cambiasso loses possession and Milan bring it away.

    Favalli just about deals with a long ball from Muntari in search of Pandev. Dida clears up.

    Boriello wins a corner off Lucio.

    Pirlo's corner is nodded clear by Milito, the goalscorer.

    Muntari is the latest to go into the book after Gattuso got to a pass before he did. The little man goes flying and Beckham and Pirlo will fight over this free kick, 25 yards out, to the left of centre.

    Pirlo takes it, the ball deflects off the wall and flies arrowly over the bar with Cesar beaten.

    Boriello gets it all wrong by losing possession to Samuel before bringing him down with a late sliding tackle.

    Favalli and Milito clash heads and the referee gives Inter a free kick, 30 yards from goal.

    Cambiasso's free kick is poor and as a long ball is hoofed forward Pandev wants a penalty after tangling with Abate. there was contact but not enough to warrant a pen.

    A pathetic free kick from Pirlo, who can't even get the ball past Cambiasso who was ten yards in front of him. The quality of set pieces so far has been woeful.

    Pirlo buys a few yards of space but hammers his shot over the bar. He's been disappointing so far.

    That is half time and what an eventful first 45 minutes. Inter down to ten but one up. Stay tuned for what is sure to be an enthralling second half.

    The teams finally emerge for the second half, Inter a good few minutes after their rivals. Maybe that's a protest at the referee...

    Right, we're off and Seedorf has replaced Gattuso for Milan.

    Milan win an early free kick but Milito heads Beckham's delivery for a corner. From it, Cesar makes a superb save from Seedorf, then Ronaldinho smashes a volley narrowly wide. Great start from Milan.

    More decent work from Milan as Pirlo looks for Boriello inside the area. He and Samuel challenge at the byline and the referee decides its a goal kick. The replay shows he was wrong.

    Seedorf has been prominent in these opening exchanges but he gives the ball away sloppily there. No matter, as Abate gets involved and wins a corner.

    Inter clear well then Beckham and Seedorf complete a one-two before the England midfielder stands up a good looking ball but Samuel deals with it.

    Antonini and Pandev clash heads and both look a bit groggy.

    Excellent break from Inter as Pandev carves Milan open, sliding a ball into Milito. The striker cuts on to his favoured left but his shot is weak.

    Abate crosses for Boriello but his header is going wide before Cesar gets a touch on it. As the corner breaks down Ambrosini swings in a cross but Boriello's header is right at Cesar. A yard either side and that was in.

    Beckham puts in a classic cross but Ronaldinho half-heartedly jumps into Lucio and concedes a free kick.

    Real Madrid are 2-0 up against Malaga after 51 minutes by the way. Guess who with both. Ronaldo, I mean.

    Another excellent Beckham cross finds Boriello but the striker misses from four yards out with his header. A poor effort.

    Maicon goes down theatrically after a late tap from Ambrosini. He made a right meal of that.

    Ronaldinho gets into the area and wins a corner off Maicon. They are getting closer.

    What a superb break from Inter! Pandev and Milito combine beautifully, the former slots in the latter, who lifts the ball over Dida but it hits the post and rolls back into the 'keepers arms.

    Maicon is in the wars again as Favalli chops him in half. He won't get a second yellow though by the looks of it. The free kick is on the edge of the box but to the right of it.

    The replay shows minimal contact from Favalli but Maicon keeps up the bluff by rolling around on the floor for half an hour. Jose is on the pitch arguing about something or other, too.

    Brilliant free kick from Pandev, as he lifts a curling effort over the wall, but it was at least two yards in from the post. Question marks over Dida's positioning, definitely.

    It was definitely a suspect free kick, and Dida's role in it looked fishy too. Pandev has been replaced immmediately, with Motta.

    Boriello is still up top on his own and Ambrosini swings in a poor ball towards him. He's very isolated. He needs company.

    Lucio's shin pad comes out after a clip from Ambrosini. He's even got "I love Jesus," written on them too.

    Thiago Silva is booked for a challenge on Thiago Motta.

    Seedorf encapsulates Milan's malaise by trying a shot from 40 yards out. It went wide. Very wide.

    Thiago Motta flings out a leg and catches Ambrosini in the chest.

    Inter are sitting much deeper now, not surprisingly. Jose is content with his two-goal lead and intends to protect it.

    Milan still haven't brought another striker on despite needing two goals in 15 minutes against ten men.

    Antonini tries to reach a ball from Seedorf and bangs his head on the advertisiing boards as a result. As ever, everybody overreacts massively. He's hardly broken his neck, just got a tap on the bonce.

    Antonini has now been subbed, and Marek Jankulovski is on.

    Some more toothless attacking football from Milan who just can't penetrate Inter's back line.

    Jankulovski gets his first sight of goal but blazes over from outside the box.

    Huntelaar is coming on, finally. Ambrosini makes way.

    Milito comes off to a standing ovation and Balotelli is on.

    Jankulovski gets round the back but can't get control of the ball quick enough to cross for Huntelaar. Time running out...

    Beckham rsists the opportunity to go down after winning a 50/50 with Cambiasso in the box. Ronaldo has now been sent off in Spain, for an elbow.

    Balotelli has a crack with his first touch. Zanetti fed him bur he dragged his shot well wide.

    Another good cross from Beckham but Huntelaar can't get to it.

    Beckham hits a long ball for Huntelaar, Lucio heads clear then Ronaldinho blasts a shot over from the edge of the box. He's been poor, Milan have been poor, and they are going to lose tonight.

    Beckham's corner finds Pirlo at the edge of the box but his effort is atrocious.

    Muntari is coming off and Ivan Cordoba comes on.

    Ronaldinho is the latest to turn in a hopeful ball but Cesar claims.

    Jose waves his arms around and gets the crowd worked up. He's loving this.

    Huntelaar has a chance to make it interesting after latching on to Seedorf's chip but Cesar saves.

    MILAN PENALTY! Lucio puts his hand up to prevent Huntelaar's effort from going in and Milan have a lifeline. Lucio gets a straight red. Inter down to nine!

    Cesar saves Ronaldinho's penalty and the nine men survive!

    Yet another disappointing episode that sums up how poor Milan have been. Not to take anything away from Inter, who have been excellent, especially considering they have been down to ten for so long, and now nine!

    Balotelli misses a great chance to make it 3-0! He was through but coming at Dida from the right side and the 'keeper saves well.

    Full time and an emphatic win for Inter Milan who go nine points clear of their rivals at the top. Milan were deeply average and couldn't capitalise on Sneijder's early red card. Jose marches on. Thanks for your company.
