   It appears to be a nasty foul on the former Liverpool skipper, who looks quite badly injured, but is slowly getting to his feet.

   Bolton think they have broken through the Liverpool back line, but Stelios is flagged for offside.

   Campo produces a lovely nut-meg on Warnock, much to the home supporters' pleasure.

   Baros asttempts to turn the Bolton defence, but the ball just runs on and through to Jaaskelainen.

    A long ball from Jaaskelainen causes all kinds of problems in the Liverpool defence and but for a brilliant interception from Carragher, Bolton may have taken an early lead.

    Okocha has alreday started in brilliant fashion, pulling the strings in midfield.

    Free kick to Bolton following a foul by Garcia on Gardner on the right-hand touch-line.

    A sensational tackle back by Speed denies Gerrard a clear run on goal.

    Another free kick to the home side, which is sent long into the box and headed clear by Riise for a throw-in.

    Dudek comes well to claim the long throw-in to take the pressure off his defence. A good claim by the Pole.

    Bolton are controlling the early exchanges here at the Reebok.

    Yet another free kick to Bolton for a foul by Gerrard on Campo, who stands over the resulting free kick.

    Before the set-piece can be taken, Liverpool are forced into an enforced change, bringing on Traore for Hyppia.

    But, the resulting free kick is wasted, easily headed clear by Carragher.

    A long throw is taken by Okocha, but not for the first time, referee Rennie blows for a foul and the game stops again.

    Goal kick to Bolton, which falls to the ever-willing Davies, who does well to make room for a cross, that is well cleared by that man Carragher.

    First chance of the match falls to Baros after good work down the left flank by Warnock, whose centre picks out the Czech Republic international unmarked in the box, but he drags his shot poorly off target.

    Excellent run by Stelios, who goes on a mazy dribble, before eventually being tackled by Riise. Throw-in for the home team.

    Josemi has the ball in the right-back berth, but overhits his pass to Baros and it goes out meekly for a goal kick.

    The match is very scrappy at the moment, with too many free kicks and stoppages.

    Another good openings for the Reds after some good interchanging of passes between Gerrard, Baros, Alonso and finally Hamann, before the German drags his long-range efort wide of the goal.

    Free kick to Bolton, lofted high into the box by N'Gotty and in trying to clear his lines, Carragher plays the ball off Speed and it almost goes into the back of the net as a result. Instead referee Rennie points to the corner flag rather strangely.

    The resulting corner comes to nothing, headed clear at his near post by Carragher and then knocked over the bar from distance.

    The home fans are giving their team all the support they need, only for Warnock to go on a brilliant dribble past two Bolton defenders, before delivering a brilliant centre that evades everyone in the middle and is put out for a corner at the back post by Gardner.

    Referee Rennie blows for a free kick for a foul at the back post to Bolton.

    Bolton are now putting Liverpool under some concerted pressure with a series of long throw-ins delivered by Okocha.

    Okocha produces some magic on the left-hand touch-line and the skipper's pinpoint centre picks out Stelios, but his header is well saved by Dudek.

    Immediately, Liverpool go up field, where Garcia finds Gerrard with a great through-ball, but the captain's control on his left is poor and he can only shoot weakly at Jaaskelainen.

    Yet another long throw from Okocha from the left-hand touch-line, and again Liverpool do well to clear their lines.

    Liverpool will be happy to still be on level terms at the moment, having survived this initial Bolton onslaught.

    Gerrard picks up possession on Liverpool's left and he curls in a tempting centre which no Liverpool player reacts to.

    Bolton win a right-wing corner after Okocha's long-range drive is deflected off Riise.

    But, Speed's delivery is well claimed by Dudek, under pressure at his back post.

    Warnock does very well again to beat Hunt on the touch-line and his centre just evades all the Liverpool attackers in the middle.

    A long ball over the top by the returning Josemi just has too much pace on it and it runs through to Jaaskelainen.

    Now it is Josemi's turn to defend, and well, as he stops Pedersen in his tracks as he runs into the box.

    GOAL! Bolton take the lead after an excellent run down the left by Pedersen and the Danes' centre elludes everyone in the middle, except for the unmarked Davies at the back post and he has a simple task of tapping in for his first league goal of the season.

    Liverpool immediately win themselves a free kick on the left-hand touch-line, level with Bolton's penalty area, but Gerrard's delivery is poor and easily headed clear.

    Garcia flicks on a long ball into the Bolton box, but it is easily claimed by the advancing Jaaskelainen.

    Bolton are really taking the game to Liverpool now, confidence buidling with every passing second.

    Garcia works an opening on the right wing, but not for the first time this afternoon, the delivery lacks any accuracy and Jaidi just clears his lines.

    Now it's Gerrard's turn to inject some pace into Liverpool's attacks, but he just over-runs the ball and Jaaskelainen comes to Bolton's rescue by clearing up field.

    Baros, who has had a poor half, fails to pick out his skipper, who was making a great run to his right and Bolton are relieved to clear the ball.

    Liverpool have awful trouble clearing a high ball into their box and it eventually falls to Hunt on the edge of the box, but the defender's volley is high over the bar.

    The fourth official indicates that there will be just the one minute to be added on at the end of this first half. And that is half-time, with Bolton deservedly leading 1-0 at the break.

    Liverpool get this second period under way, kicking from left to right and trailing by a goal to nil.

    Liverpool have made one change at the break, bringing on Djibril Cisse for the unlucky Warnock.

    Cisse gets his first touch, flicking on Gerrard's throw-in, but it is harmless and rolls through to Jaaskelainen.

    Bolton almost take a two-goal lead after a snap shot by Pedersen that almost catches Dudek off guard, but the Pole does well to turn the ball behind for a corner with his finger tips.

    The resulting left-wing corner comes to nothing and Liverpool go on a counter-attack that almost leads to an equaliser, but for Hunt's last-ditch interception from Garcia's left-wing centre.

    A good passage of passing by Liverpool leads to them winning a throw-in level with the Bolton penalty area, but it comes to nothing when referee Rennie gives the home side a free kick.

    And from that, Bolton win themselves a left-wing corner, that is eventually worked to Davies, but Traore is alive to the danger and clears his lines.

    A magic cross-field pass from Gerrard finds Garcia, but unfortunately the new Liverpool recruit uses his hand to control the ball.

    As yet, still no cutting edge to Liverpool's attacks and Bolton are content at the moment with their 1-0 lead.

    Josemi is down injured at the moment, but Bolton are not stopping and are continuing their attack, although Campo's centre is straight at Dudek.

    Liverpool win a free kick in the centre circle after a foul on Hamann, but they then give away a free kick themselves when Alonso fouls N'Gotty.

    And from the resulting set-piece, Okocha picks out the unmarked Jaidi, whose header is on target, but palmed to safety at his near post by Dudek for a corner.

    The left-wing corner comes to nothing though and in fact, Liverpool attempt to break, before Hunt cleverly gives away a free kick.

    A moment of individual brilliance by Okocha, who turns two men, runs in field, before driving a low shot that Dudek does well to hold on to.

    Liverpool really are playing very poorly at the moment, until, Gerrard picks out new boy Garcia with a chipped cross to the back post, but the Spain international's volley flashes past the near post.

    Okocha attempts to find the overlapping Hunt, but Traore reads the danger well and concedes a throw-in.

    Baros almost delivers a wonder through-ball to Gerrard, until Gardner intercepts, luckily for Bolton.

    And now Baros wins his side a right-wing corner, that is taken by Gerrard to the back post, where Traore is totally unmarked, but the defender falls over and looses possession and Bolton break up field.

    But, that attack comes to nothing and now it is Liverpool's turn to go on a counter-attack, that ends with Garcia's low shot from the edge of the box being well blocked by the outstanding Gardner.

    Campo attempts to slide a pass down the line for Hunt, but the ball just has too much pace on it and goes out for a goal kick.

    Back come Liverpool and this second period is an end-to-end affair now.

    Cisse's turn to go on a dribble and the France international tries to play a one-two with his strike partner Baros, but the ball runs through harmlessly to Jaakelainen.

    Free kick on halfway now to Liverpool after a late tackle by Hunt on Baros.

    Alonso chips the ball in and there is hesitation in the home defence, but no Liverpool player reacts and it goes out for a goal kick.

    Campo's turn now to give away a free kick on the halfway line, but immediatley the ex-Real Madrid player wins back possession and puts the ball out for a throw-in.

    Bolton make their first change of the game, taking off goalscorer Davies and bringing on veteran front man Les Ferdiand.

    And Bolton make their second change now, taking off Stelios and replacing him with Liverpool-born Kevin Nolan.

    Liverpool are 16 minutes away from their first league defeat of the campaign, and their second in a week in all competitions.

    Baros tries to make a change to the scoreline by dribbling his way through into the Bolton box, but he is stopped in his tracks by Gardner.

    Garcia has a chance to pick out Cisse with a through-ball, but not for the first time this afternoon, the final ball is woeful.

    Alonso now gives away a free kick, deep in Bolton's half, taken by N'Gotty, but headed clear by Carragher under pressure from Ferdinand.

    But, back come Bolton, until Campo's attempted ball over the top is overhit and goes out for a goal kick.

    Amazingly, Riise does exactly the same in attempting to pick out his skipper Gerrard.

    Bolton are snapping at Liverpool's heels now with only nine minutes to go and are looking well worth the three points at present.

    Liverpool score what they think is an equaliser through Garcia after a lovely chipped through-ball by Hamann, but the linesman incorrectly rules the goal out for offside.

    It is now backs to the wall time for Bolton, hanging on to their slender 1-0 lead.

    A final change of the afternoon for Bolton, who take off skipper Okocha, replacing him with 36-year-old Fernando Hierro.

    Both Hierro and Campo, who used to play together in central defence for Real Madrid, are now sitting in front of the Bolton back four in defensive roles.

    Riise gives away a free kick on the touch-line and it is headed well clear at the back post by Josemi.

    Cisse misses a glorious opening for Liverpool, their best of the game, after a dreadful mistake by Jaidi, but the former Auxerre striker shoots over the bar with only Jaaskelainen to beat.

    Another chance falls to Baros after excellent work by Cisse down by the right-hand corner flag, but the striker heads high over when well placed in the middle.

    Bolton are not sitting back, instead they are bombing forward in search of a clinching second goal, although in doing that, they loose possession and Hierro is forced to crudely bring down Baros in his tracks.

    But, the free kick is disappointing and Bolton are able to clear, only for Nolan's late tackle on Alonso to be penalised with a caution.

    The fourth official indicates that there will be two minutes of time to be added on at the end of the second half.

    One final chance of the game from Alonso's free kick, which is just flicked away for a corner by Hierro, otherwise Riise would certainly have drawn Liverpool level. But, referee Rennie decides it is a goal kick.
