Chelsea – West Ham United

1. Join us at 1600 GMT to see Gianfranco Zola's return to Chelsea with his West Ham side.

2. Some teams news: Alex is back for Chelsea after being linked with a move away. Drogba only makes the bench and Joe Cole returns to the starters.

3. For the Hammers, Parker and Noble make a formidable partnership in midfield and Bellamy will play alongside Cole up front.

4. All eyes are on Gianfranco Zola's return, but with Chelsea's home form of late, there might be a shock on the cards.

5. Dark draws in over Stamford Bridge and Chelsea get the game underway. Zola emerged to warm applause from the home fans who had once idiolised him.

6. After the failures of the other title contenders yesterday to secure wins, this represents a golden chance for Chelsea to seize an initiative at the top of the table.

   Jack Collison is on the ground after going in hard on Deco and the youngster is receiving some early treatment from the West Ham physio.

   He's back on his feet though and running around so no damage done by the looks of things.

   Ex-Hammer Joe Cole seeks out ex-Hammer Frank Lampard with a long pass but it is overhit and goes out for a West Ham goal-kick.

    Jose Bosingwa gallops down the right before checking his run, squaring it across towards Lampard who lets it run for Ballack to have a go from range but his shot goes wide.

    Joe Cole tries a bit of trickery on the touchline but is forced to knock the ball out of play.

    A wonderful one-two between Cole and Lampard but a last-ditch lunge from Scott Parker deflects Cole's shot wide for a corner. Lampard takes it but it is headed back out. Meanwhile John Terry seems to be limping somewhat and did not journey up for the corner.

    Alex and Carlton Cole slug it out on the touchline with a couple of hefty challenges but the Hammers man is the winner with his prize a free-kick.

    A flowing passing movement from West Ham is prematurely ended when Joe Cole brings down Mark Noble. Free-kick to the Hammers which Cech kind of clears when he comes for it. It goes out for a corner.

    When the ball is played in the whistle blows in Chelsea's favour for an infringement in the penalty area.

    Behrami pushes Cole and concedes a free-kick. Plenty of those so far today.

    This time Carlton Cole is penalised after challenging for a high ball which brings a lengthy complaint from Cole.

    Lampard plays a free-kick to the far post and Alex meets it with his head. The goal is empty but Alex, a yard from goal, just can't get a decisive touch on Lampard's cross and the ball goes over.

    Lampard tries a long-range effort but Davenport deflects it behind for a corner with a well-placed header. And this time John Terry has come up for it. Neither he nor anyone else can get a decent touch to it once it is played in and the Hammers clear.

    Alex wins a race with Bellamy for a pass by Neill and West Ham have a throw close to the Chelsea goal but they are unable to make anything of it.

    Mikel is booked for a cynical trip on Cole who had raced away towards goal. West Ham have a free-kick in the sort of area their manager might have had a go a few years back. As it is, Noble plays it in but it is headed straight back out towards him.

    Cole sets off on a run but Parker slides in well once more to put in a decisive tackle.

    Didier Drogba looks on the action from the Chelsea bench. How long until he makes an appearance in this game?

    Free-kick to Chelsea twenty-five yards out and both Ballack and Lampard size it up.

    Ballack it is who has a go and it is struck without any conviction against the West Ham wall.

    Nice cross in from Deco is headed behind for a corner by Ilunga who then gets his head to the corner before Parker charges down Lampard's shot. Good defending so far by the Hammers today.

    Cole is picked out with a long ball and he then cuts it back to Ilunga who is followed by Joe Cole. Cole's tackle gives West Ham a corner but it is played far too deep out of reach of the assembled throng of claret and blue shirts.

    Well worked move between Bosingwa and Lampard is read by Upson whose nicely timed intervention clears the danger for West Ham.

    GOAL: Bellamy has opened the scoring much to the anger of Chelsea. They are claiming that first Noble and then Bellamy used their arms to control before a lovely finish from the Welshman to knock it past Petr Cech's near post. Chelsea look to have a case but the goal stands.

    Chelsea look for a quick response and Cole's cross is intended for Lamard but it is booted away by Noble. Ashley Cole is booked for a foul on Noble as he cleared.

    Corner for West Ham but Anelka has come back to help out and clear with a header.

    Carlton Cole now goes in the book for trying to prevent a free-kick being taken quickly. He succeeded if that is any consolation to him.

    Alex attacks the cross but is judged to have commited a foul as he flings himself at the ball and West Ham are grateful for the free-kick awarded to them.

    Beautiful floating cross from Bosingwa brings Green from his goal to get a clearing hand to it.

    Carlton Cole is voicing his displeasure once more as he is quite harshly penalised after a tussle with Alex.

    Joe Cole tries to dink an inviting cross in to the West Ham penalty area but there are no takers.

    Davenport and Upson play a bit of head tennis over Anelka to get themselves out of trouble.

    Anelka then has a shot which both Upson and Davenport charge at, one of them getting enough of a block to take the sting from the ball on it's way to Green in the West Ham goal.

    HALF-TIME: Boos ring out after an unconvincing showing from the home side but the crowd are more likely to be upset with the referee's decision to allow Bellamy's goal.

    Michael Ballack has been sacrificed to make way for Didier Drogba for the remaining forty-five minutes. West Ham are sure to be in for a busy second half.

    Anelka flicks a pass towards the advancing Joe Cole but he is muscled off the ball by Upson.

    Deco feeds Bosingwa down the right who wins a corner. Deco plays that in but West Ham deal comfortably with it.

    Bellamy is forced inside and finds Noble with his pass. West Ham though end up retreating all the way back to Robert Green as the attack fizzles out.

    GOAL: Nicolas Anelka prods home the equaliser. Drogba flicks it on to Lampard who lifts a lovely ball up to Anelka and the Frenchman makes no mistake from eight yards out.

    At the other end Carlton Cole almost restores the Hammers' lead immediately but misses a golden chance from six yards out as he miscues his attempt.

    Cole again goes close this time wrestling Alex to the floor before flashing a low shot just wide.

    Mikel picks out Joe Cole who is unmarked in the West Ham penalty area but not for long as the ball is taken from his toes just as he appeared ready to pull the trigger. Then Lampard goes close with a shot that Green is relieved to take.

    Drogba, somewhat ambitiously, tries a shot from thirty-five yards out which is blocked. He is now on the floor and would appear to be injured.

    Drogba, perhaps unsurprisingly, is ok now and back in the game.

    Ilunga does well to hold off Bosingwa and win a throw on the far corner for the Hammers.

    Chelsea are exerting all the pressure on West Ham now and the visitors will do well to withstand this for another half an hour. Corner to Chelsea after good work from Joe Cole.

    It's wasted but you suspect they won't have to wait long for another attempt.

    It's getting congested in the middle of the park and the tackles are flying in thick and fast. Mikel wins a free-kick for Chelsea after a few meaty challenges.

    There is nobody waiting in the West Ham box to meet Alex's cross but the ball then breaks to Lampard whose trademark long-range effort is at first spilled by Green who takes it at the second attempt.

    Carlton Cole is appealing loudly (not for the first time) as he believes West Ham were denied a corner. Mike Riley is not interested though.

    Alex wins a corner with a deflected shot. Lampard takes it once more and this time Drogba brings a wonderful save from Green with a volley on the turn. It's another corner for Chelsea.

    Chelsea take, and waste, that corner and another and West Ham can breathe again. For now.

    Cole seemed to grab John Terry's head as he went to ground which is a bit naughty and not really in the festive spirit.

    Neat play from Parker to find Collison who just keeps the ball in. He plays a cross in from the right but Chelsea are back in numbers to cover it.

    Bellamy tries a rather optimisitic shot from an unlikely angle which goes well wide.

    Noble comes off to be replaced with Hayden Mullins.

    Deco's long-range shot is charged down by Upson once more who is having another assured game in the West Ham defence.

    Joe Cole comes off and Salomon Kalou replaces him.

    Kalou gets straight in to the action as he cuts in from the left but his shot is too close to Green to threaten his goal.

    John Terry and Craig Bellamy chase the same ball and seemed to be tugging at each others shirts.

    Rob Green almost punches the ball in to his own goal as he went for a Chelsea corner. A terrible attempt and he was grateful to see it headed away by Scott Parker on the goal-line. Lucky for Green there.

    Lampard over-hits his pass towards Ashley Cole and the ball goes out for a West Ham goal-kick.

    Bellamy wins a corner and takes it himself but Drogba is first to the ball when it comes down and he boots it away.

    Bosingwa picks out Kalou with an accurate pass but the substitute is almost on the eighteen yard line and the ball is head height. He fails to test Green with the long-range header.

    Lofted pass from Deco towards Drogba but there is just too much pace on the pass and West Ham have a goal-kick.

    Davenport gives away a free-kick in a dangerous area with a careless handball under pressure from Anelka.

    Meanwhile Luis Boa Morte comes on for Collison.

    Lampard's free-kick beats the wall but not Green who is securely behind his pacy effort.

    Lampard has a loud shout for a penalty as Lucas Neill brings him to earth with a trip. It looked a definite penalty and the Hammers got out of jail there.

    Deco's cross from the left is crying out for a Chelsea body to throw themselves at it but instead it arcs straight in to the welcoming clutch of Robert Green.

    Behrami comes through the middle and threads it to Cole in a superb position. He speeds towards goal and, with just Cech to beat, looks poised to score with a low shot but the Czech keeper makes a great save to deny him.

    Bellamy is withdrawn to make way for David Di Michele.

    FULL-TIME: The whistle blows and unbelievably that result means all four of the 'big four' have drawn this weekend. West Ham could even have won it at the death but they will be more than pleased with this point. Chelsea though may be wishing they could play all their games away from Stamford Bridge.
