4. And the ref is known to Arsenal - Steve Bennett who reffed last year's Battle of Old Trafford and dismissed Patrick Vieira.

   And Spurs get us underway. Long ball headed away by Cygan. Vieira tackles Mendez in midfield.

   Defoe on the charge. Cross comes off Fabgregas. Reyes shanks away.

   Defoe's flick to Keane is poor and Arsenal have a throw. Plenty of vocals from the crowd so far.

   Ljungberg fails to find Henry who seemingly ignored his pass.

   Break in play as Arsenal deliberate over a free-kick. It's a waste of time as Henry miscontrols.

    Little created so far. Typical derby fare. Keane had a chance but Lauren was sharp.

    Now Defoe gets down the side. Good cross to Mendes at the far post. Half volley is saved by Lehmann.

    Mendes offside from a Carrick loft. He didn't look it.

    Ziegler slips Ljungberg but not Lauren. Good skill from the young Swiss.

    Cygan thwarts a Mendes ball. Arsenal have been defending most of the game so far.

    Spurs have the possession now. Can they create anything? No is the answer. Only Ziegler's skill to really shout about so far.

    Vieira fouls Brown and complains when he's penalised. Ziegler to take the free-kick which aims for King but the England man can't get up there.

    Reyes is brought down and looks to be holding his shoulder.

    King clears up dangers for Spurs. Arsenal looking to put some attacking impetus into their game.

    Now Ljugberg is down after a foul by Edman. Looks like his ankle was stood on.

    Vieira shows real power in beating two men. He passes out wide but Naybet was wise to his intentions.

    Defoe wants a foul but gets a throw instead. Mendes will launch.

    Vieira mispasses. Wenger rages on the bench. Rather amusingly in fact.

    Mendes's ball to Keane is poor when Tottenham had options. The Irishman is annoyed.

    Keane penalised for a foul as he looked to bear down on goal.

    Defoe slips Cygan rather too easily. His cross rebounds all over the show and comes off Lehmann for a corner.

    Naybet is offside as the corner is cleared. Spurs having the better of the game so far.

    Martin Jol is visible on the sidelines and is belting out instructions. In English. Which may be a novelty.

    Henry offside as Vieira looked to flick him through. That's the key for Arsenal and could win them the match with Spurs sitting so shallow.

    Ziegler shows neat skill in setting up an attack. Keane and Brown link before the midfielder is stopped. Free-kick comes to nothing again.

    Arsenal attack through Lauren. Spurs have to defend now. Corner taken by Reyes deflected to Robinson who punches clear. Defoe could break but Henry and Reyes get back to stop him.

    Long ball by Edman comes to nothing. Bit of respite to the helter skelter of the derby.

    Reyes tackled by Brown. Spurs holding firm and having the better ideas.

    Carrick tried to force the issue on his first Spurs start but his pass comes to nothing.

    Lehmann has to be careful after a deflection off Toure.

    King deflects a Reyes cross to Bergkamp but the shot is dragged into the ground. King has to head behind though.

    Edman heads clear to Bergkamp. But the Dutch master is less than masterful with his shot.

    Ljungberg escapes the offside trap. Shot becomes a cross but Reyes is too wide an angle to profit.

    Arsenal gaining impetus now. They're getting in a passing groove.

    Defoe is fouled by Toure. The Ivorien is angry about the decision to penalise him.

    Carrick's kick caused panic but Arsenal get it clear.

    Henry handballs and is penalised. Spurs fans enjoy that.

    Another chance for Spurs. Carrick curls in and Arsenal miss it completely. Toure flaps and Naybet receives the ball and sticks the ball in the back of the net with aplomb. 1-0 to Spurs!

    Arsenal were starting to look good but has the curse of Old Trafford struck again?

    Another free-kick - this time Ziegler takes and a deflection nearly beats Lehmann whose fingertip stops a certain goal. Dodgy defending from the champs.

    Now Mendes gets out wide. Good cross comes off Cygan's bald napper away from Defoe. Spurs strolling, Arsenal uneasy.

    Ziegler booked for a foul on Lauren. Arsenal free-kick.

    Cygan heads miles over. Not a vintage afternoon for Monsieur Chrome Dome.

    Arsenal still off the boil. Ziegler again looks good on the ball before slipping a ball into the danger area. An offside flag intervenes.

    Defoe offside again. Reyes dive is noticed by the ref. Defoe's turn to dive.

    Long pass into the box. Henry claims the ball with total control, dummies the Spurs defence and slips past Robinson. Sickening for Spurs as it came right on half-time. 1-1

    Half-time blows as Arsenal celebrate. A shame for Spurs who had looked comfortable. But they fell victim to Henry.

    Spurs' half-time tea may well have been soured by that Henry goal but they have to keep their heads this half.

    Arsenal kick off and get going. Lehmann clears a backpass. Arsenal hold the ball for a considerable amount of time before Robinson gets the chance to clear.

    Brown holds off a hearty Vieira tackle. But Arsenal get the ball only for Fabregas to mess up his through ball.

    Reyes blows a golden chance. King's slips let him in but Robinson collected what was a scuffed effort with ease.

    Bergkamp fouls. And is lucky not to be booked.

    Fabregas' charge is stopped. Mendes gets in a great cross but Lauren clears the ball.

    Chaos in the Spurs box. Cross from Reyes bounces off two men for a corner. Cygan misses a chance to scoop in a shot.

    Arsenal with the pressure now. Spurs look jumpy.

    Paramot fouls Ljungberg. There's some frank discussion between Reyes and the Spurs man.

    Penalty! Ljungberg is fouled by Paramot in a suicidal fashion. Lauren slots home as Robinson is sent the wrong way.

    Robinson paid for an error which gave Ljungberg the chance to squirm through. Horror show for Spurs.

    Defoe wants an equaliser. His shot is dragged into the sidenetting by a deflection. Corner comes to nothing and Spurs still look for parity.

    Brown booked for a foul on Vieira. It's been coming but the ball was there to be won.

    Vieira capitalises on a mess up by Naybet as Spurs collapse. The Frenchman waltzes through and smashes past Robinson. 3-1 and game over!

    Wenger enjoys himself and who can blame him. Spurs' good work undone by suicidal defending.

    But no, Defoe takes off on a run and beats two men to lash home an unerring shot into the top corner. 3-2! Game on!

    Spurs' defence, so good at the start of the season, has cost them dear. Every Gunners goal a result of chaotic defending.

    Defoe nearly got a chance as Carrick's ball deflects to him. He couldn't make the necessary contact to profit.

    Pamarot fouls Cole and the resultant free-kick from Henry causes trouble. Robinson palms behind.

    Kanoute on for Michael Brown, who had a busy game. More striking power for Tottenham.

    Cygan flicks on for Pires to have a chance. A chance he flashes well wide of the goal.

    Spurs on the attack. Kanoute battles for the chance to get in a cross. Cygan clears this time.

    Carrick gets a chance but fires rather wide with a long range effort.

    Ziegler loses the ball and Arsenal attack with force.

    Now Henry has a chance but is blocked. He slots in Pires and a change of feet gives him the time to slip under keeper Robinson. 5-3 to the Arsenal!

    Again Spurs' carelessness in possession has cost them. Now Van Persie comes on for Bergkamp.

    Arsenal try to play some keep ball - a rarity in today's goalfest.

    Toure smashes a Kanoute pass away. Van Persie goes down to buy some time.

     Nine goals and one to remember. Spurs were brave but chaotic in defence. Arsenal were irrestible going forward but terrible in defence too. 5-4 - that's Tottenham 4 (Four) - Arsenal 5 (Five)!
