5. Team news now, and Germany boss Joachim Low has gone for an attacking line-up with Schweinsteiger, Ozil, Podolski, Klose and Muller all starting. If there are concerns about the goal-scoring form of Podolski and Klose, the overall line-up suggests they should pose a threat.

6. Meanwhile, Bayern Munich defender Holger Badstuber plays in his first competitive match for his country after making his debut during the warm-ups.

7. Australia - who took just three strikers to the tournament, who of whom is Harry Kewell - take a far more defensive approach.

8. Everton midfielder Tim Cahill is their main attacker. At the back, veteran defender Craig Moore starts despite having been without a club since March.
